wow for all the americans who think we live in igloos fighting off polor bears all winter and summer long...WE DONT its just weather that happens in winter and we have homes too like americans. and just because it is closer to the north pole does not mean we are freezing day and night.
ITS ONLY WEATHER! thank you and im not being rude in this comment! :D
it was stupid how most of the schools weren't called off UNTIL the afternoon. seriously, how are you gonna call a snow day when everyone is at school AND THEN make everyone go home/get stranded after lunch?
@shaq179 lol dumb americans would think that but the smart ones would know that since your up north more you would get bad a blizzards like that lol and really dumb ones would think you live in igloos im not a dumb american

Yeah, it was very cold the next week. -40 I think. Took a few days for my car to start...left it at work and got a ride with someone else when I could not see if the light was red or green...(I could not even see the light fixture) to get onto 8th street.
I don't miss living there. I don't miss walking to school in that weather =P I once did walk to school in a major blizzard just to get to the door and find it closed because of the weather -_-

That one was a doosy! The city bus I took to campus got stuck 4 times, but somehow - everyone showed up to Calculus on time cause the prof would not cancel the lecture.
I remember that day. Tried to drive home from work and crashed my car on Clancy Dr. I couldn't see the road at that point and drove into a huge snowdrift where the road curved a bit. Left the car there overnight and came back to see a snow plough had completely surrounded it with 3ft of packed snow. Took 8 hours and a passing semi with a huge chain to pull me out. Engine was packed with snow. Had to tow it to Canadian Tire to thaw it out before it could run again.
If you can stick out a shitty Saskatoon winter,it's worth it in the end because nothing is better than Saskatoon in the summer. it's absolutly beautiful, and it's a university town with tons of hot girls and good bars.
Actually, I live in Pennsylvania, USA.. and the winter of 1996 in the Philadelphia area had weather similiar to this... unrelenting, brutal winds and deadly temperatures... AND 37" of snow! A record, nonetheless!
Yeah, we really feel for you when you rebuild your trailers from your most recent hurricane, Mr. Florida. It may get cold, but it never feels like the earth is trying to flick us off like a bloated tick.
I swear to god I saw a guy delivering a stack of pizzas on foot by 8th street and Cumberland during that. I was driving home from work because, like everyone, I got sent home early, and I saw this guy, bundled up to shit, crossing 8th street holding a big ol' stack of pizza boxes. Crazy bastard.
And then, my apartment building's water was having a problem, and this was a huge problem because it was steam radiator heated, so I had no heat for quite a few hours.
that was crazy wasnt it i had to stay at school till 5:00 but it was fun cuz there was no teachers they all left... DRAG RACES WITH CHAIRS :):) it hurt
My cheap Jew boss actually let us off work early that day so we could get home before it got too intense. Of course, we had to be back on time the next day though, surprise surprise. What's more, I HAD TO SHOVEL THE DAMN SNOW FROM AROUND THE BUILDING MYSELF! No one helped me, because they were "too busy". I was busy too, but of course, I had to shovel the shit up anyway.
