about all the sls being worse, well of course it is it's half the price. Mercedes needs to invest in a mid engine car with thier new 4.7L twin-turbo charged v8 with around 550 hp. And now mclaren made their new sportscar with 550hp mid engine car with i think a 3.8L v8. It is also half the price of the slr. Don't get me wrong the slr is an incredible machine and will always be.

This is a hypercar, the SLS is shit, who puts the same motor as the C63 and ML63 in their "supercar" they got the design right but the engine is just horrible. The 55k motors and the SLR motor are the best motors Mercedes has ever made. They should not have adopted the 63. When I bought my E55 I was actually looking for the E63, I test drove both and there was NO way I would choose the E63, the E55 is just a SHREDDER on wheels, imagine what the SLR is lmao.

Yes the G55 has the Kompressor too, it's truly an amazing engine. However even though the block and most of the stuff is pretty much the same the quality of them are better. The pistons are forged, rods and crank too. The oil system is dry sump, the cams and valves are different, the supercharger has a different pulley, also I think the heat exchanger. Not sure about the rest but it is heavily revised. My E55 has the same engine too but after being a passenger in the SLR I noticed the difference

Neither an SLR nor a Veyron are 'racing' cars. They are both extremely fast luxury GT machines. An SLR is really like a super-duper SL (not a bad thing), and an SL is not in any way a sports car.

For street versions of racing cars, think 911 GT3RS, Ferrari 430 Challenge Stradale, Lotus Exige, etc.
