should have let it go to when she dropped the book... :( What an amazing movie. I'm in university, and they teach you how to analyze and close read things (books/films). But, i would really not rather analyze this with any intellect. This movie is so great, and with scenes like this, the only way i like to watch it is with my heart, to feel it with my soul; not to analyze and be critical about it. The scenes like this are just so beautiful, they really connect with what is inside you. :)

That's quite untrue. Elves were always their own species, though they were based mostly on the Finnish people whose pral traditions were gradually dying out and whose legacy Tolkien wanted to protect. National Geographic did a documentary on it; you might want to watch it sometime.
