Nice review :) F.Y.I. - The "water cooling thing-a-ma-jiggs" are grommets for 3/8" water cooling tubing. The "PCI / PCI Express" ports on the back of the case are Expansion Slots, the "thing for the motherboard where all the plug-in things go" is the I/O casing, the cable management you were talking about is partly for looks like you said, but mostly to better enable airflow.

@OMGYouKiIledKenny 0. This is all self taught. I watch motherboardsorg, PCwizkid, newegg, ncix and linus youtube channels for some pointers but this is all self taught on how to put this stuff together.

@SkiilzwithDaSniiper If you got about 30-50 bucks more go with the haf x. It has dust filters which you will quickly fall in love with.

@FedoraFTW Yes it does, but it's also around 40 bucks more... I'm going for a cheap well performing system.

@FedoraFTW The Phenom ii x4 980 will perform very well. Much better than people (intel people) give it credit for... the 980 paired with a gtx 570 will do me wonders compared to this xbox 360 lol. Besides, I alread bought the motherboard for my amd processor.

@NBGCUSTOMS yeah but if you look at gaming benchmarks it scores 20+ frames in almost every gaming benchmark. that is WELL worth the extra 40 bucks. anyways how is the cooling in the case?

@FedoraFTW Yeah I know. I do in a very small way regret I went with AMD but I've never used an amd processor before some I'm sure It will do just fine. As for my case. All the fans are very quiet and keeps the inside nice and cool. Should my overclocking in the future easier to manage.

@NBGCUSTOMS yeah i have always used AMD. i went from a phenom x4 955 at 3.8Ghz to an i7 2600K and i can tell a dramatic difference. i plan on either getting that case or the HAF X.

@FedoraFTW Yeah the 942 is cooler because of dust filters and a larger side panel window. But I find that the i7 2600k is waaay too much for starter gaming PC.

@PrinceSnifflePhooey check the videogame's system specs and then your computers system specs and you'll find out.

Make sure you partition your hard drives.

@NBGCUSTOMS It's spliting your hard drive into different spaces. So you might want to split the operating system with your data so if something goes wrong you don't have to worry about deleting important files.

@NBGCUSTOMS Yeah you can do that for either the HDD and SSD but i recommend partitioning the OS on the HDD because you don't really need the extra power of the SSD for the OS.

@NBGCUSTOMS think of it as ram that you can control. You place softwares that you deem useful onto the SSD and when you no longer use then you can put them in your larger HDD to make way for your newer games in the SSD for example. Since you do recording and i assume you will be recording in HDD you should get separate HDD that is 2tb or 1 tb because some recordings in their raw form take up 1 gb for 4 mins in HD.

@NBGCUSTOMS Both would be great. Just partition the OS,Videos,cache for your 2tb HDD and your SSD just go nuts with it. Google how to create and format a hard disk partition.
