  • Didn't she come out before Bjork? Stina's first album came out in 91 and I know Bjork was with the Sugarcubes but she wasn't really "popular" until 93 when Debut came out

  • Yes, it is a masterpiece!

  • Just like her, I also don't see the point of just recreating an album infront of an audience. It's a commercial obligation that music acts tend to conform to, but...why? Unless you're going to be doing someone new and unique each time, there is not point in just repeating yourself for the next handful thousand.

  • Stina is SO not meant to be in the public light, as is so obvious in this interview. Which makes me love her all the more... this makes me hate MTV more, too... even in the 90's.

  • Anyone know if she Covered the Depeche Mode song Enjoy the Silence???

  • no she didnt

  • Yes I figured that later on... if anyone's interested Susanna and her Magic Orchestra did...Had heard the said cover on Italian Radio and the artist was not specified when I posted 5 months ago

  • Stina's first two albums were ground breaking - and her voice is simply amazing.

Can't compare to Bjork as they are very different artists.

  • First time I see her giving an interview. Amazing.

"And she closed her eyes" is still one of the best albums ever made. The fantastic dark lyrics along with her innocent childlike voice and the fragile, subtle music create a very unique musical experience.

    Thanks for posting.

  • Totally agree. Loved her music. First time I seen her speak. What a beautiful person.

    DJ.

  • I totally agree with that description of the album, ''And She Closed Her Eyes'' is and will always stay a masterpiece!

    Rob

  • Hey when was this done I'm guessing must be round 1995 she never does interviews so this is cool.

  • So much talent such a slim voice, such a beautifull body...i use much of her music in mus chillout mixes...but she has nothing to do with bjørk at all no comparising at all, bjørk needs to scream it out for us to understand stina wispers it.......

i prefer the understatement in that...

  • I couldn't understand half what this girl was saying...it's different with Bjork,i mean, they have nothing similar!

  • you really have no idea who she is? she was huge in the music industry.

  • never heard about it, to be honest,I am not so into pop music.

  • stina nordemstam is definitely NOT pop music.

  • Love that FINALLY someone in the press has properly'ish pronounced Bjoerk's name or at least took a proper stab at it lol. *Cheers*

  • where do i find that?, could you please tell me?

  • I think she's deliberately trying to make me fall for her... on second thoughts, that's probably not her actual intention...

  • She's like an antisocial Amelie.

  • @zootsanchez - You must not have paid attention to 'Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain.' Amelie Poulain exhibited quite a lot of antisocial tendencies herself.

  • you know your stuff, princess of the heavens.

  • Thank you ! Thank you ! Thank you!!!!!

  • I have been a fan for over 12 years and this is the first time I heard and seen her speak about her music. Thanks! A rare and sublime treat.

  • 12 years? isn't she 25 now?

  • This was an interview that was done years ago. "Little star" came out in.. what 96ish. She was born in 69 I think, so I would assume she is about 36 now.

So that would make the comment above you correct then, I think her first album came out in 91 - 92 or something.

  • @flegolas Dude she's about 50

  • @zootsanchez when flegolas thought she was 25 four YEARS ago she was 38. Now she is 42, almost about 50 then lol

  • Can't believe I found this interview - so rare for her. I love her uniqueness & that totally different voice. She's as sweet in person as her music. She's nothin like Bjork.

  • What a great interview! Stina seems like such an amazing person; I hope I can find some of her work.

  • shes such a character, even as a person. shes kind of funny, unintentionally so. her speech fades out ,,

  • She is compared to Bjork for geographical not artistic reasons. That's how dumb people can be.

  • Thanks for posting it! I love her music. I know her works for a long time and I've never seen her talking... it's different to see her this way. It's nice. Thanks again.

  • Wow, that was amazing. I had no idea she ever did an MTV profile. How weird.

  • yeah ,this would never have happened on U.S. MTV. Dont think Stina would do a U.S. mainstream interview. Then again ,is MTV mainstream? Havent watched it in years. HEY , StaronESP,great name BTW, I had that album.

  • She's a doll! She also has a wonderful voice when she talks.. Though, her singing voice is so beautiful I don't think anyone will ever sing as well.

  • Yeah, thanks for uploading this. Seeing Stina interviewed - a rare occurance. Can't wait for her next album!

  • Hello Stina, you are one of my biggest influences and loves. Your first two albums changed my whole direction and attitude to music and to myself. I was so inspired by your work I decided to be a little more honest to myself and make the kind of music i truly believed in. I do NOT compare you to Bjork in anyway though, i think it's unfair that people just say that without taking a closer look at your work. with love and sincerity and appreciation kirsty

  • thanks so much for posting this doxepine, it's great to have a little look into stina's enigma.

now we must campaign to get Stina in to the next Big Brother house.

    I joke.

  • Love you Stina! I know how uncomfortable promotion and interviews are for her. Her new album is out Spring 2007!!

  • She is stunning. I could lisren to her voice for hous. My kitten grew up listening to stina. Star loves her music so do I....

  • stina is the best.

  • Well, it's as they say: you either love her or hate her. I think her lyrics are very good and I can't get enough of "Little star". Only thing is that it's pretty hard to hear what she's singing, but once you've read the booklet you understand the song more and I love the jazz influences. I know years ago when my friend played her music for me I didn't quite like her but it changed :)

  • Her speaking voice is incredibley annoying...

  • I bet she can spell "incredibly" correctly though... Anyway, where are you from and what's your accent like?

  • Hey, her speaking voice is incredibley annoying.
