for a second there...it seemed as if the REW engine was about ready to jump out and fly away...lol (actually it was the entire car but all I could see was the engine going nuts and the spoolin starting)
call me crazy but if you were lookin for number like these whot go with a t61/t67 something like that so the smaller spools faster giving roughly the same hp. The lag on a t-88 is pretty substantial without excellent tuning but it just makes more sense but hey ur car ur money ur choice...nice car btw
yes yes u can get the same amount of hp wif smaller turbo . no no it will not lag . its a rotary . the pressure it takes in n gives out is double than a piston engine . plus if the tuning is right , then it will not lag at all . i believe u r not a rotary guy ;) . but of coz big engines like V8s will not lag too wif these big turbos , if the tuning is right , again of coz .
yes n no . boost high if onli ur engine is set for holding up such high pressure . imagining boosting more than 1 bar of this t88 on 2mm 2 piece apex seals . c wats gonna happen to ur engine . lolz .
@mjwebb48 LOL. So you just assumed 17% tranny lose? Based on what analysis? You can venture a guess that you make AROUND 450 at the flywheel but even then that number means absolutely nothing because you have to factor in tranny lose and tire diameter to figure out how much the engine will actually put down to the ground. Car companies do this stupid trick all the time to make it seem you're buying a car with decent power because they post up the engine HP and not how much you get at the wheels.
@capnapalm If you had taken the time whilst watching the video you will see that the dyno attaches to the hubs so giving you a very acurate wheel horse power output. In the uk the flywheel figure is more widely used so , this is what i posted in that format, not a rough guess but the dyno calculates the flywheel figures from the wheel figures it measures. At least the dyno s in the uk are fairly accurate on there figures unlike the us where at times the figures are obviously way high!!!
@Superdog07 wow youre dumb.... i hope after the last 2 years of posting that comment that you actually KNOW what the difference in power measurements are.
and the power loss % is calculated from the base power figures of the stock car.... 255hp factory rated at the flywheel.... typical dyno numbers for a stock series 6 FD is between 210-220hp.... do the math roughly between 15-17% attributed to parasitic loss through drivetrain components.
Nice car, but why did they set up the dyno room like that? with all the exhaust staying right there in the room with you, lol. Its a dynapack, so it wouldnt be that hard to run the car the other way.
Yeah relatively low only 0.9 bar easily has fueling etc to run 1.1-1.2 bar which should see 415-420 at the wheels.Add water injection to this and run 50/50 meth mix would make far more. With this set up make fairly good power without too much stress on everything.
Nice. I'd never wanna do a 50/50 mix or water injection system. Still, I've heard of guys running close to 500whp on 91 octane with proper fueling and tuning. I guess it just depends on the shop that sets up the car.
I think the water injection is good on rotaries as it keeps intake temps low, im still running a standard rad at the mo with no probs but big fmic. I run the car on 98 octane. Just planning suspension mods brakes etc for track next year.Plus new colour scheme.
Is at the mo but will be track only after this winter, cage big brakes lots of suspension mods fully stipped and uprated fuel system including swirl pots etc to do so going to be busy. 98 is available from the pump at selected garages over here.
Oh ok. I'd rather be able to fill up anywhere and drive it everywhere. Thats why I never build track only cars. Besides, if I had the suspension set too stiff my girlfriend would just bitch about her boobs hurting again. lol.
Thanks for the tip. I'm due to get some coilovers for my FC soon and I didn't even consider the whole painful boob issue (my fiancee is a double E cup) but that still wont stop me as it's only a street car and she love's my Rotor.
Well maybe not a double (unless she gets out the corset) but still a healthy E. Not sure what you mean about the rotor thing but to clarify, I have an FC RX7 (no airbag), am blind in one eye, and yes she does love my "rotor". Gettin married next year.
Have you tried a simple spray system for the I/cooler. When I say simple I mean well thought out with a proper pump and decent spray fittings. You would be amazed at the inlet reductions you can get. I have seen temp drops over 1 degree C per second on boost @1bar. At least you can cool I/cooler & radiator at same time & you don't have to be on boost or even moving. Cheap to make fit & use with no need to change any tuning in any way. Cops cant defect it. I have design descriptions if you want

And another thing you cannot have a measurement of 456 BHP @ flywheel BHP is brake horse power .....
Superdog07 2 years ago
this is a hub dyno so measurements where taken at the wheels, but using 17% transmission loss that gives you flywheel horespower(bhp)

456 flywheel on a T88? That seems kinda odd. most guys can get around 400 wheel hp with the smaller T78. You running really low boost?
driftslave 4 years ago

HOLY SHIT. Double "E" Cups eh? I guess you can safely remove the passenger airbag then...
Also, if your "Rotor" has a double meaning then you are a lucky man...lol.
driftslave 3 years ago
Well maybe not a double (unless she gets out the corset) but still a healthy E. Not sure what you mean about the rotor thing but to clarify, I have an FC RX7 (no airbag), am blind in one eye, and yes she does love my "rotor". Gettin married next year.

well, in Europe they probably can get a little bit higher octane at the gas stations.
Just like in Japan 98 octane is the smallest level they have at their gas station.
98 104 108 or something like that.
sick car !!!!
i cant imagine if you try 1.7 bar , might hit over 620-640 rwhp !!

ZechsSetsunakute 4 years ago
Yeah was all done on full rebuild when the porting was done about 6000 miles ago.
mjwebb48 4 years ago
That turbo sounds BEAUTIFUL!!! I'm surprised that it is only putting out 456hp though.
Touchofchaos 4 years ago
yeah def could but only running low boost, plenty quick enough for the road.
mjwebb48 4 years ago
wot is it on high boost
lilcow418 4 years ago
1 bar is high at the mo . but with water injection and a remap to 1.2 bar should see 500 plus
mjwebb48 4 years ago
wot do u mean by water injectors
lilcow418 4 years ago
You add water as a fine mist into the intake to lower temps, therefore lowering risk of detonation so in turn you can map for more boost.
mjwebb48 4 years ago
oo i see i fort it woz like when sum people put nos on the intercooler
lilcow418 4 years ago
similar idea with lowering temps but water inj would be setup to acctivate at a certain boost level say 0.8 bar and above.
mjwebb48 4 years ago
