If it wasn't for Asura's Wrath I would of never heard of this beautiful music... Thank you Capcom and Cyber Connect 2 for such a wonderful interactive movie... I MEAN GAME!
Yeah I see it now..sorry for my annoying commet..I´m just sad that for exapmle in USA nobody knows what or where is the Czech republic..They have no idea, that Dvořák (czech) found their national music..They don´t know Prague even though it´s one of the most beautiful city in the world..They don ´t know that the word "Robot" is from czech writer Čapek..When the Charles university in Prague was founded (1345 I think) there were Indians in the USA.. I just don ´t know why they are so proud..
The fact that we care abou their opinion alone, proves our irrelevance. Why should an American care about tiny Czech republic or tiny Austria? Our culture is long gone, today the global center (media, ideological hegemony, music industry, culture..) is in the US, UK.
That being said, "robata/robota" is a very old slavic term for forced labour, "rabu" is the servant. The term was also imported into German in the 14th century (Robot)
@AustrianAtheist -As an American, I find the culture of all nations to be a fascinating study, not only to understand the history and geography, but to define the very real contributions of all people. America was known as the "Melting Pot", a blend of cultures united beneath one premise...the right to be free. While some may argue our "freedom" is now a shadow, we still concur no Man provides opportunity for real equality. So we let God unify us, for men have power to exert influence.
@AustrianAtheist Well, since Austria hasn´t contributed anything to human wellfare (except for music) recently (in the last 50 years or so), it is quite obvious that it is not considered the saviour of the world. However, compare to the Swiss (the global finacial bowflies), Austria is doing pretty well!!!
Imagine, if all the Austrians, Hungarians, Czechs, Croats, Rumanians dropped dead. I guess the international media would not even realize for some days ;) Yes, our culture has crashed, Europe is dead.
@petrimus20 It was also a Czech composer who wrote this on a commission by the New York Philharmonic to create an "American Symphony". He used "negro melodies" such as the one in this section and "themes embodying the peculiarities of the Indian music", which you can hear in several other sections. For this section he wrote what he considered a traditional negro spiritual "Going Home" and used it for the dominant melody in the second movement.
@wintereis57 I know who he was, I just admitted that he was czech in origin, he wasn´t Wiener (in the description there is "by Antonin Dvorak. Wiener Philharmoniker" and that´s why I´m upset)..
@petrimus20 I see. Well, while Dvorak was Czech, I do believe that the Weiner Philharmoniker is actually performing the music in this video since Von Karajan was the conductor of that particular orchestra. The Weiner Philharmoniker, or as we say in English "the Vienna Philharmonic", is the name of the orchestra like the New York Philharmonic or the London Philharmonic. You should be satisfied that Dvorak is so admired that his music is played all over the world by many different orchestras.
Damn,I am not an artist, I'm not nothing, simply a poor *asturianin poor , who roams the world and are excited with music sometimes composers of the giant Kyzylorda as Dvorak (disappeared among the living) and a so wonderful director disappeared also, as Heraber von Karajan
@elieltanr the orchestra holds the previous note for the horn to enter, as soon as the horn enters, the orchestra changes the chord back to flat d, time difference is inevitable. But yeah, your right, maybe the orchestra or the director did not realize that the horn will enter that hastily so the time difference seems more obvious. Good ear, bro.
@strings715 ah wells. the chord didnt resolve so there. but what a waste such a beautiful rendition of a masterpiece with a hole in the middle. sometimes it dosent pay to have a "good ear"? cuz u cant enjoy the piece to the full extent once u've found a flaw somewhere.
ever left the ps3 open b4 heading 2 nap? left burnout paradise on (ps3), and went to bed ( did my business ), i felt soooo relaxed after it, and strait after tht, this " stand by song " came up, volume was perfectly low, and it was dusk, just as tht deep dark purple colour shined into my room through the thin curtains, i was under my thick blankets enjoying peace, and quite ive never been more relaxed... fell in love with da music
immortal music, i have never been fan of classical music, but i have to admit, Dvořák is a legend...I do not think I am some kind of nerd, I study teaching of PE and geography in Prague, by I simply have to love this kind of music...hate me, kill me, i do not really care, it is about what I feel..and I feel only pleasure when I hear some of his work...and I am proud to be Czech...I really am
this is awesome. I just listen it in opportunity of die our the best czech person, Mr. Havel... And I have to say, we are the nation of the biggest personalities in the world. And I´m proud about it.
I am sure that Tiesto will rape this song someday also... Or some other techno/trance/wannabe deep douche artist who cant listen Classical music without "hook" drumbeat set under it... -.- I hate overrated artists...
This music is really Wonderful and Touching!! I'm from the Czech republic and I'm really proud that such genius like Antonín Dvořák was from my country!

also very good is video taged as " steam train symphony no.9 antonin dvorak film " It's from Jan Sverak immortal film Obecni skola (Elementary School). I think it's best videoclip for this music :-)
Stunningly beautiful photography... my father is from Iowa and always was in awe of this piece.. and said that he could just close his eyes and see the prairie fields of his boyhood home when listening to this. Dvorak, he claimed, wrote this inspired by Iowa. For me this piece brings back my father to me.
@DonaticX If I'm not mistaken, some of the Star Wars music was based on this. I don't know about Star Trek. It also sounds a lot like Lord of the Rings. Especially the english horn solo.
@pluh1 fair comment, but i'm not entirely wrong.... I can hear principles of american music and intonation schemes of typically czech music. You can clearly hear the "fear" from coming to a new country and then the mix of czech musical themes in them... I'm not saying it's exactly as i wrote, but i guess i'm not that wrong about the story line.
@spikeycz I might have put that comment there more for other people. I don't doubt your intelligence. It's just hard to expect much from the crowds on youtube anymore.
Dvorak said that Negro music will be the music of the future. Little did he know that it did, and he would actually be ashamed to hear the music they write or what everyone calls rap.
Great piece. First things we learned in grade 4 on the recorder :) it was used for a commercial here in canada for some animal shelter or something. If you google "dog packing sad commercial song" there is forums where people are trying to figure out what song it was. Also on yahoo answers, I never took the time to become a member to answer there question, so hope they figure it out one day :)
i remember when i first got this song. my orchestra hated it cause it was so slow. we heard the story... once we heard the story we NAILED it! we put so much emotion and feeling into and we fell in love with it.. we used it as our festival music and got a superior rating. i love love LOVE this song
@iluvmusic2300 This is not a SONG but a PIECE!! Nevertheless: I totally agree with you!!! It is one of the most beautiful music that has ever been written. So, I love it as well!!!!
@JynxxTorquilla Same here, I just wish Czech Republic got more recognition for what they do. It makes me mad when you ask someone "Do you know what Czech Republic is?" and they go what?? Checkers?? NO its a country better then America!!
@JynxxTorquilla Jo to chlape naprosto ti rozumím. Být v cizině, žít tam nějakou dobu a tohle slyšet, popřípadě vidět tu slavnou scénu z Obecné školy, jak jedou chlapci na nákladním vlaku a do toho toho tato hudba. To by nezůstalo oko suché :-)...a pyšný no to ano!
ive recently started listening to symphonies. and turns out its been what i was looking for all these years.. beautiful, subtle, quite music... symphonies and Royksopp and what i listen to when iwant to imagine.. or just think
I am not really listening to this, for me it's like reading a book and looking at paintings. It's so colourful that you can SEE all the music and it speaks to you with words.
I'm not proud to say this but the first time I heard this was on Burnout Paradice (A racing game) and everytime you perform a stunt or crash on that game whatever music playing gets drowned out and sounds all tinny, I'm guessing it's done for effect. Now I usually drive like a madman on it crashing every so often but when this came on I slowed down and drove normally so I could hear it perfectly. I love this piece!
Probably the most underrated, beautiful pieces of music ever composed. It makes me happy that it has over 1m views though!

to think that this music was written by mortal man confounds the senses it is ephemereal abd reaches into like no music I have heard

@boysdontcry95 Silence is always part of the music. Silence can make or break an accent and it can diminish the effects of "sudden" orchestra stop.

@JynxxTorquilla Same here, I just wish Czech Republic got more recognition for what they do. It makes me mad when you ask someone "Do you know what Czech Republic is?" and they go what?? Checkers?? NO its a country better then America!!
WWIIStudy101 5 months ago
@JynxxTorquilla Jo to chlape naprosto ti rozumím. Být v cizině, žít tam nějakou dobu a tohle slyšet, popřípadě vidět tu slavnou scénu z Obecné školy, jak jedou chlapci na nákladním vlaku a do toho toho tato hudba. To by nezůstalo oko suché :-)...a pyšný no to ano!

たぶん、エンコードのせいかな?雑音になってる。元は良さそうな音源だっただろうから、ちと残念。

I am not really listening to this, for me it's like reading a book and looking at paintings. It's so colourful that you can SEE all the music and it speaks to you with words.

I'm not proud to say this but the first time I heard this was on Burnout Paradice (A racing game) and everytime you perform a stunt or crash on that game whatever music playing gets drowned out and sounds all tinny, I'm guessing it's done for effect. Now I usually drive like a madman on it crashing every so often but when this came on I slowed down and drove normally so I could hear it perfectly. I love this piece!
