like that dell. The processor has a faster FSB speed 1600MHz, a faster clock speed 2.8 GHz. more l2 cache, Faster RAM at 800MHz. 320gb hd. 4 ATI 256 gphx cards, i didnt config wit the quadro fx 5600 1.5 gb simply because it is dubble the preformance of the 4500.
I did this before the new 8 cores were available. I just didn't post it until later i had to work long hours.
The new 8 core may be better value now. But apple doesn't change them for months so if you buy near any time but the beginning of the apple product cycle you get burned. Well unless you value style, fashion and hipness.

you CAN sli higherend cards, but without an sli bridge there isnt enough bandwidth between the cards, even a pci-e x16 bus doesnt provide enough bandwidth between the cards. if you can find some benchamrks, 2 8800GTX's sli'd without an sli bridge would only run as fast as a single GTX, and possibly worse. the good thing is sli bridges are probably cheap if you can buy them.

You do not get what you pay for.
The more you pay the more you over pay. The cost of production of a mac pro 8 core and a mac mini are nearly identical.
Dell hardware IS better. You get better video card you get better everything else for the same price just watch my video on the issue.
The apple costs almost 1000 bucks more. I take this and reinvest it into the initial Dell configuration. This results in an all together better pc.
