  • @HusbandnWifeDuo Shah Rukh is indeed the name of a Bollywood actor. Rani is one of his co-stars in a movie, but we used this name as simply meaning Queen. Deeba is Persian for silk.

Curious what the names of the Pakistani actresses was. Are you from Pakistan?

  • @MaamsJoan Yes both of us husband and wife are originally from Pakistan. We have been out of that country since 1996, but keep in touch. Rani and Deeba were the names of Pakistani actresses. Rani was one of the most beautiful lead stars of Indian / Pakistani cinema. She was a great dancer too. You will be able to find many videos of her on Youtube.

  • they look likr greyhounds but longer ears

  • These are the weirdest looking dogs I've ever seen, but they are very beautiful.

  • Thanks for your comment @katGarkia15! But weird? Ha ha! They don't at all look weird. They have been around in this form for a lot longer than all other breeds. (Do a wikipedia search on saluki and read the first paragraph.) And they are very sweet!

  • @MaamsJoan Your welcome. I didn't mean for it to sound that way, that was just my first impression. They're foreign to me. They are very, very beautiful though. I want one now :D do they get along with cats?

  • @katGarkia15 Salukis can get very well along with cats if they grow up with them.

If not since they are hunters they will chase and even kill a cat which they do not know. Do you have cats?

  • @MaamsJoan I have a black cat, and a german sheperd mix rotwieller. The dog's not very big though for some reason. They get a long really good and weren't raised with eachother at birth, which is I guess odd. Wow, those are some serious dogs, but my cat thinks he's a dog & likes to roughhouse w/ his B.F.F. :)

  • Wat een mooie Saluki's!

  • @prinsestjuly dank je !

  • i didnt think of asking a bootmaker to stitch the harder bits onto the collar

thats a fabulous idea and i have a wonderful bootmaker

one of the most honest men i know on this planet - im going to tell him to look at youtube sothathe knows im talking about him!

    hi GUS!

  • and i love those collars on your dogs too!

im trying to find something in this great barren land of ours - i think i will have to resort to buying something online

i wish i could figure a way to decorate an existing martingale

  • Thx for the comments nolanerunner.

When the dogs are running full tilt they don't feel the cold. Still we never stay out more than 1-1.5 hours when it is that cold.

The collar making is easy if you have interesting material to embroider the collar with. I get stuff from Indian and Turkish shops, and get a shoemaker to stitch the difficult bits on.

  • beautiful

how on earth do they cope with snow?

mine shivers in the cold of the morning of no more than 10 degrees!

  • It IS saluki heaven! Thanks. Also your favourites are very interesting!

  • I love salukis, I consider them the "best" breed. Nothing can replace their fake-out kisses, crazy jumps and odd singing noises. Most of all... they make one happy.

  • Nice pics! Excellent music!
