  • Damn we shoulda been AL champions in '82 and '86...idk about the Mets but the Cardinals would have been toast against us in the World Series

  • @EarmarkAudiology didin't Mike Witt pitch a perfect game?

  • @MariPamJam

    In 1984 against the rangers

  • @EarmarkAudiology

it was just 1 game they still ahd the advantage on boston that was like the 2 time coming back from 3-1 in 1986 and 2007 and in 04 coming back from 3-0

  • it makes me laugh when boston choked in game 6 not the buckner play it wasn't his fault their were other causes like:

Calvin Schiraldi couldn't get the last out

Bob Stanley threw a wild pitch or a passed ball on Rich Gedman

John McNamuran keeping Buckner in the game due to his injured legs instead of getting a fresh Stapleton

    They couldn't win Game 7

  • @sportsoracle

    that was close

  • @EarmarkAudiology

if they won Game 1 on the road they should have won 1 more, Game 6 or 7 why did they lost Game 2 it could have been swept

  • @Angelslover9

You're right. I read in the the book..."one pitch away", the Angels flight back to Boston was very quiet. I remember somehow knowing it was over...even being a game up in the series.

  • @Angelslover9 If you watch Baseball's Seasons-1986, you'll hear Don Sutton say the following: he spoke to Bob Boone on the flight back and Boone told him he was scared. Sutton asked why, and responded to something with the effect of that when you lose a game like that, you don't come back.

  • it wasn't donnie moore's fault that the angels lost the series in the 9th of game 5 angels pitching coach took out mike witt, lucas hit gedman, and the angels lost games 6 and 7 so Donnie Moore isn't the only person with the blame " You Win as A Team U Lose as a Team"

  • You're right. I would have left Witt in for one more batter.

  • @FRSFreeStateES

i'm with ya on that maybe as well the most heartbreaking

  • i love this theme

  • The 1986 ALCS might be the best of all time

  • it would be nice if the angels went back to those blue hats with the red bill.

  • I have bunch of Angels hats...I love the batting practice hat they were which is just as you described.

  • What people forget is that little Gary Pettis nearly won the AL pennant in the 10th inning of game 5, his drive to LF caught by Rice at the last moment before hitting the LF wall, or Jerry Narron would have scored the winning run a day after scoring it in game 4.

That would have been even bigger than Ozzie Smith's game winning homer in NLCS game 5 in 1985, his first ever ML homer hitting lefthanded.

  • one word: hendu.

  • No doubt....hate that guy...lol

  • who gunned down downing dwight evans

  • It was Rich Gedman.

  • @EarmarkAudiology thanks

  • I am just so glad that the red sox lost to a miracle comeback like they won from a miricle comeback against the angels.

  • At least the Angles can say the lost that game due to 5 RBI's. 4 in the 9th 1 in 11th.The Red Sox have to live with 1 RBI & 2 critical errors in the 10th. Much more of a give away and certainly burned them and their fans far worse than what they dished out to the Angles.

  • Nice comments, but still so painful to watch.

  • ANGELS 2009 !!!!!!!!!!
