I'm not a fan of horror flicks, and like a very select few, but this one always stands out for me. Richard Vannacut is quite the antagonist ghost (kickass villain in other words) and the music is just chilling. I have to wonder if the music in this scene is in the score...
I have seen all types of horror movies. Slashers to torture porn to head games ones. I've never been creeped out or grossed out or had nightmares from any of them. Yet for some reason those 10 seconds of the doctor on the camera has always creeped the fuck out of me to this day.
i thought i was the only one that also got super scaried and tramatize and literally was hunted but the way he walked and how he killd that security, guess everyone shit their pants too not just me :)
ok i thought i was the only one who thought the demeanor of the doctor was just horrifying, but good to know im not alone. And actually i blame this movie on my phobia of mentally retarded people!
This reminds me of Resident Evil 2 (the video game that came out about a year before this).
There was a part when you walk through a long hall with a series of security cameras. Then you get to a room with the monitors, like the one in this scene. When you look at the monitor you see this giant creature in a trenchcoat going down the hall right where you were. It was the only time I was actually scared playing a video game..
I saw this film the year it came out and it scared the life out of me. It's so freaky, even down to the way he walks I get shivery thinking about it now.
I watch this when i was 7 to 8.I was surprised and impress of this acting.Because i thought this is the first time i seen this kind of act and is really new and this is the only movie which have this guy walking like a robot creepy so i thought its a very smart scary scene. Not most director had the idea.Of course i was shocked and freaked and stunned that time.
I remember seeing this in the theater.. That's how old I am, folks! It scared me pretty good, myself and the other two girls in the nearly abandoned place!
I think they said he did his walk by doing the entire scene backwards, and Jeffery Combs had to do it completely in very, very slow motion. That way, when they played it at normal speed, his walking backwards (would look forwards) and his shaking would look all distorted.
my god the memories, I was only 13 or 14 and out of every horror movie I saw as a kid, this was the ONLY movie that scared me and gave me nightmares!! I remember holding my Pikachu plushie really close to me and I would ALWAYS keep the lights on at night xD
When I went to the kitchen, first I had to open the fridge for the light and quickly turn on the lights on the ceiling XD that's how scared I was!!
Now that I'm older, I actually went ahead and looked and the movie again to fight off my fears from when I was young. At first I kinda hesitated but now I am able to watch the movie with no problem ^^
man, i got so much scared when i was 12 and watched this. when the chair turns around i almost ran off the room. and the way the ghost walks mannn that was disturbing
Remember watching this when I was about 13 and this scene really stuck in my head, still think about it all these years later.

Pimp Walk Of The Year!
Seriously, though, the remake is as good as the original.

Why would they hire a guy without a face to watch the cameras?

I was told in order to make that guy walk like that, they filmed him walking backwards and played it in reverse to make the creepy ass walk.

I like how you can hear the sound of both the spasm and the knife being wielded... Even through the security camera, lol. Still, freaky little scene.
