Nobody respected bush, he had the lowest approval ratings, and was the most hated president with the lowest ratings around the world. Our military is our military, and as long as we spend more money on our defense than the next top 15 military countries combined, we will always look strong. Bush had no real support for his war, making the military look really weak, when no one wanted to back bush.

If you really were such a humanitarian, you would recognise the core difference between investing in welfare services, and creating a socialist state. You should realise that providing people opportunities and helping them onto the ladder are a responsibility of the government. Thatcher's philosophy, with which you seem to sympathise, is that there is no such thing as society - and yet you say you help the sick and weak? I think you are conflicted between your ideals and your conscience.

Wellfare; misused and abused by so many people across the nation. I've seen so many people work a job for a couple of days then try to get fired by doing absolutely nothing or somthing dramatic. After, they go to get wellfare and then it repeats itself. Then when my father lost his job due to down sizing and we practically lost everything because we couldnt get wellfare because he was only unemployed for a couple of months. Wellfare is a broken system and it doesnt work.

You're right that welfarism does have the effect of stimulating a horrible 'benefits culture' - but this is due to a lack of motivation, job creation and skill development in society, and it
doesn't mean state support should not be given for people who fall on hard times.
