  • if there was a robber in my house i would go downstairs shooting not screaming i am scared

  • Worst mistake I EVER made was getting rid of my 625-2 when it was only a year old... I should've sold the car instead ;-)

  • I am debating on the 625PC so far nothing but good reviews, or this 325 TR gun. I would prefer to have a light rail for a bedside defense gun. However I have read several problems with this gun. One of them being the barrel coming loose. Light strikes out of the box on factory ammo. Have they fixed these problems? Thanks,

  • Could I shoot .460 Roland out of a Thunder Ranch S&W? It is an N frame afterall... I have a 357PD light weight .41 mag, so I think that .460 roland should be well within the stress tolerance.

  • @MegaGevehr noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • sham-wow guys dad

  • Great professional, informative video. I truly appreciate the safety portion at the beginning. It may all seem ho-hum to the experienced, but one must remember that beginners don't always know. I have seen some unbelievably unsafe practices in some other videos. Great attention to detail and information on the weapon, safety and practice techniques!!!

  • A recorded 911 call being played later in COURT may just keep you OUT of Prison.......................

"I need the police at my address and tell'em to bring a MOP and a BAG"...............is NOT what you want to say! :)

  • very good video. no major hype/gun bravado.

If I may suggest just slow the speed of the speech a notch, as it stands a good demonstration of the enthusiasim for the topic.

Thanks for the clearing part nice to see the level headed and not stealth, guns blazing, uber macho hype.

  • .45 acp??

  • @albertansportsman dosent have a big cylinder so probably

  • "you're scaring me"? more like "gtfo or die"

  • More like, BLAM get BLAM out BLAM of BLAM my BLAM house.

  • Clint, Jesus gave you a breath, slow down and take one.

  • how much does it cost, ballpark?

  • @roaringwaterbay $2100

  • In Michigan if they break in your house you can shoot them and that's what I'll do. I don't have to explain anything.

  • @SuperSneakySteve Same here in Colorado.. It's called the 'Make my day' law.

  • very cool demonstration, wonderful guns ok

  • It's a VERY important point that people should NOT searchtheir home for the intruder. Even when law enforcement searches a house they have SEVERAL officers working as a team. Peopke have to understand that they don't know how many intruders are in their home nor what their capable of. In addition a lot of people shoot the first thing that moves & realize they killed their family member. I've said this SEVERAL times in my video. It's very important that you pointed that out in the video.

  • @VinnyS914 Damn skippy.

  • @VinnyS914 or you can take charge of your training and take command of your home and do what it neccessary to clear your home.

  • @HYBRIDCOMBATIVES You make a good point. I just wanted to note that guys need training before they think they're in a movie. I'd like to attend the Ranch one day

  • TheWakeupbuttercup i live in Denmark, but i guess they have similar laws in Sweden and Norway or most places in Europe. You are simply not allowed to defend yourself with a gun, you have to call the police. It sounds crazy and it is crazy but thats the way it is. Infact those who attacks you have to leave you wounded, so the police can see you have been attacked, or else there is nothing really to do about it. Im not kidding.

  • Every time I check the TR schedule for the "Urban Rifle" course...It's booked solid for the next year...frustrating...

  • Is this a 4" bbl on the thunder ranch .45? I like it. Not alot of production .45 revolvers out there for the auto cart. Mostly .45 colts and those are 99 to 1 single actions. Having received many hours, in all aspects of training on the old 4" .357 service revolver, this would be a shoe-in for home defense for me. I like it too! I'll take 3. Thanks for the video.

  • absolutely love revolvers, OLD SCHOOL AND RELIABLE! I appreciate the video.

  • I'm not a revovler guy and I want this gun still.

  • There is so terrible many guns to get in America. Hmmn maybe i simply should move to America- i think they can use me. I would like to have the possiblity to try all kind of guns- i guess thats possible in America. In my country you have to be member of a shooting club to get licens, but thats not all, you have to be memeber for a year before you can get it. but anyway i believe some of the rules sometimes has been broken.

  • I live in Pennsylvania. The Gun store did a 15 minute background check on me, i paid for my gun and went home with my Glock 19 + amunition + accessories that same day.

  • It sounds good to me, thats what i call gun-freedom. But anyway if all people can do that then sick and people with a criminal background can do the same and that will of course expand the violence.

  • I dont get it. I said they did a background check on me. How can sick people with criminal background pass that check?

  • Not all sick people is to find in a public register(infact it is very few) And what about the criminals?

  • @globe255

The background check is an FBI database search. Rest assured they keep records on felons.

  • BlunderingThundering thanks for the information.

  • BlunderingThundering I guess you dont need to be member of a shooting club in USA to get a license to a gun. You can get a license to a shotgun in DK thats not difficult, all you have to do, is to take a round with shooting and show how to handle the gun plus answer a couple of questions. When it comes to a rifle or pistols then you need to be member of the club for at least a year first plus training.

  • No you don't need to be a member of a club to practice your god given RIGHT of self defense. Also if you cant own a shotgun without proving you know how to handle one, how do you learn to handle one without breaking the law? Sorry if this seems harsh, but did they make you take a test to get on youtube? I mean thats what making me jumps through hoops to own a guns feels like to me

  • @marksiwel In my country you have to be member of a shooting club in two years BEFORE you can take your gun home (i have just found out). When you have your gun at home you need to put it in a security box, you are not allowed to just put it in a drawer or under your pillow. And to keep your right to have your gun at home you need to do a minimum praxis ervery year on a shooting range.

  • Doesn't sound like its a "Right" then, The Government doesn't give you "Rights" the "Rights" are seen as a Natural (Or God Given) part of being a Person. Whats the logic in keeping your gun some place where you will be unable to defend yourself with it? Why keep it and the ammo separate, how does that help you? Theres a Rifle in ever house in Switzerland with a Box of ammo, yet Switzerland doesnt have a high Gun Death Rate and a Low Theft rate compared to the UK which is Gun Free.

  • @marksiwel The point is that you dont have the right to defend yourself with a gun. I know it sounds crazy and it is, but thats the truth.

  • Move to Texas, we got plenty of Room, and plenty of ammo

  • @marksiwel Thanks! I would very much like to, but i need a good job too and im not sure i would be that easy for me to get there. When im old its not a problem cause then i can live of my pension, but until that will happen i need somethings that can pay my bills and food.

  • @BlunderingThundering: yeah, i think the reasons firearms are so expensive is probably the gov't regulations. Maintaining database, and registrations, licensing for gun dealers all add up for gun buyers ultimately. But thats a good thing.

  • i fuccin wana live there man here in MA succs very bad

  • @danpt2000 i live in michigan. 22 yrs old. went in the gun store, told them i was interested in a ruger sr9 full size, gave them my state id and cpl/ccw, filled out some paper work, sold them my tanfoglio 380 and left with my ruger. yes!

  • that is just a good solid firearm A+

  • How many cups of coffee did he just drink?

  • Haha...

  • Great video and Awesome handgun. Too bad half the video was a legal disclaimer.

  • i have a new favorite gun, this is a very beautiful arm. love it

  • Very nice video!

  • nice video

  • Railed revolver..................weird.

  • " get outa my house " lol when the crack head broke in my house I yelled " step back are I will kill you! "

  • i wana go shoot a Tukey with that

  • Did he say "You're scaring me" or "You're not scaring me"? I don't see how - if he said the first one - that would make the break-and-enterer wanna leave.

  • thers no way in hell im useing a .45acp to defend my home and risk going through my walls and into my neighbors house or one of my bedrooms and hiting a family member. I would rathar stick with some kind of a .410 bore firearm.

  • actaully if you want to get technical .410 is actaully a caliber, but hey as long as you are willing to defend yourself and your family thats all that matters.

  • Is that .45 ACP ammo?

  • wow a gun commentator without a southern accent, that's a first

  • sry i dont have much knowledge of guns. but the gun doesnt seem to be very loud, is it obligatory to were headphones?

  • it's a lot louder than it sounds on this video. you don't "Have to." I guess but you'll be etremely umcomfortable and do plenty of permanent Damage if you don't

  • @Omega350ss do you own this gun? and how is the recoil on it and how is accuracy. thanks

  • if there was a robber in my house the last thing i would say is "your scaring me"

  • It's a liability thing, that way you can tell the cops that you explained to the suspect in question that he was scaring you, and you tried your best to get him out of the house before you splattered his brains all over your living room. It keeps you from doing 20 years in the state penial system LOL

  • i havnt looked into it much but i hered there r these things called castle laws that allow u to do wat ever necessary to defeand ur land and if there was someone in my house that ment me or my family harm i wouldnt hesitate to splatter his brains all over the wall

  • Yes, the Castle Law here in Texas removed the duty of the shooter to retreat before using force/deadly force. The point is that you are in your home, so there is no reasons for you to retreat, the intruder, upon your warning that 911 was called and that you are armed, is the ome to retreat. If he doesn't, or continues agressively, then, Bingo!

  • @pastrami1945

there is no requirement to warn the intruder, prior to firing..

  • god i love being a Texan!!!

  • @redneck500 Now what is the dead guy going to say to the cops when they show up???

  • Comment removed

  • @redneck500 also a good point!

  • @redneck500 In south carolina if a person comes in your house, day or night , uninvited , if you are are in fear their ass is smoked and the state attorney general says no detention , no indictment , no nada.

  • @Dafroft lol

  • I seem to remember an old flintlock pistol that doubled over as a dagger. It was a sort of combination weapon. So that begs the point considering a revolvers capacity limit is pretty much stuck at 8 tops why don't they just make a small dagger/bayonet attachment for the revolver so that if your in a situation where you can't reload you can buy yourself some time.

  • If you believe you require one, LaserLyte already makes a pistol bayonet (PB-1) for attachment to the pistol's rail. :)

  • it seems like it would feel a little awkward tring to fight with a pistol bayonet

  • lol. dude get a .410 with a bayonet. Now thats a home defence weapon.

  • Revolvers are fun to play with (target practice) but as an LEO, I would never want to give up my Glock Model 22. I love having the extra rounds and the ease of changing the mags. As far as home tactics. You can use that gun and use the words he is say to the bad guy, but....I prefer to have the bad guy simply hear me rack one into my Remington M870. :)

  • sleek gun,for a revolver that is.

  • I have two questions (since I'm picking up mine this week!):

    1. I've seen pictures where the light attachment sits back another 1/2 or 3/4 inch so it doesn't go beyond the end of the barrel - I've seen other pictures like this video where the light goes beyond the barrel. What accounts for this difference? I think they're both using Surefire x200 lights, yes?

    2. What (leather) external carry holsters will fit this revolver with the rail attached (and perhaps even the light)?

    Thanks!!

  • 1. The rail has a few slots and you can opt to have the light sit forward or more to the back. It's really up to the shooter to align it as he sees fit.

    2. Don't know - ping some makers and find out. I placed an order for a custom leather holster but I still have many weeks of wait before they get to it. If possible, I'd opt to have it with the rail but without the light.

  • looks better with the flashlight or laser guide

  • I have a S&W semi-auto .45, but would love to have a revolver like that.

  • Great gun and certainly a great clip by Clint Smith. I have lots of respect for Clint -his clean logic , straight talk , teaching abilities and most of all, his values. This is a good example of what you can expect to see in his Thunder Ranch videos, which I highly recommend.

I just ordered a M325 and can't wait to get it and try it out. Kudos to Clint and S&W for building this defensive revolver.

  • Finally got my Thunder Ranch revolver. Ran Corbon DPX, Winchester Ranger SXT and a few other of my favorite ammo. The gun shoots like a dream. Very accurate, easy to shoot DA and has significantly less recoil than a 1911. It's as great as I hoped it would be.

The one thing was the stiff mounting of my Surefire x300, but about 100 rounds later, it was resolved and now goes on and off easily (like in the clip).

  • Great video, but I wouldn't say "you're scaring me..". If you say that, the suspect may not even realize that you have a gun(because of the light) and may just rush attack you. I would confidently, loudly order " I have a gun and I will shoot you if you do not do exactlty as I tell you!" Then order him to slowly put his hands on top of his head, tell him to turn around slowly, and have him slowly exit. This also gives you a chance to visually examine the waistband area for a weapon.

  • Don't concentrate too much on what you say. There's even a possibility of the bad guy rushing you once you say "I have a gun!". Most criminals will know if someone is in the house before they forcefully enter. If there is someone in your home, and you're there also, they know it in advance, and they don't care.

Stay in one spot if you can, but if you have to investigate you house, get the training to do it right. Once you get cocky, you have a chance to getting dead.

  • I understand the light attachment is a connivence, but why would a CCW permit holder need one? Other than repelling home invasion I doubt a permit holder is going to go looking for trouble, in a manner of speaking.

BTW, is this a good CC weapon?

  • I grabbed the 325 a few days ago, very nice!

  • I think this is the first time I've seen him with out his hat and glasses.

  • one of my next guns... this gun is awesome awesome awesome big fan of the Smith & Wesson's Thunder Ranch

  • I love this guy...his no nonsense attitude is the way to go in my books.

  • "you are scarying me" ahahah i think it shoud be like this. GET THE FUCK OFF MY HOUSE MOTHERFUCKER!!!

  • lol

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah. Good Stuff !

  • hey Clint I was wondering what happened to that custom .44 the Death Ray, and also where I could have one put together.

  • I prefer semi-auto handguns but this revolver is sweet. IMO it would make a better nightstand gun than my 1911 carry gun.

  • When you want to be SURE that your gun will fire (i.e. no problems like jams) then go with a revolver, right? I know the 1911 is very rugged but nothing can really beat revolvers when it comes to KNOWING that it WILL shoot when you pull the trigger. Plus... Dirty Harry FTW. Model 29 Smith & Wesson yay!

  • Yeah, unless the round itself is bad, like a damaged primer, the revolver WILL fire. I have seen police tapes when semi-autos (Glocks even) jam when someone needs to fire a shot the most (reference policeman who fought and ex boxer and nearly died before he could recover the weapon)

Many people opt for semi autos because of higher ammo capacity, but in my opinion, you just have to be a good shot and have a gun powerful enough to get the job done fast!

    Besides, revolvers look classy!

  • If your pistol holds enough rds in its mag can you miss enough to win?

  • I think the people knocking revolvers on this page are the kinds of people that hold their Glock or SA XD sideways when they shoot. Or they have lasers and thigh rigs for their guns.

  • 1:0

  • weet, I just saw on of these in a antique store with a lantern ducked taped to it.

  • buzman instead of expressing your opinion based on the leathal weapon movies maybe you should Put up or shut up.I would be happy shoot a bullseye match with you 300pt NRA coarse of fire 25 and 50yd Ill fire my shots double action one or two hand your choice you bring your favorite centerfire auto pistol.I hope its a good one because when I beat ya its mine. You name the range and location and I will find the time meet you for a match.

  • Lets go to "Gay Thunder Ranch". January 4th I will be there.

  • Its only gay if your there

  • Let's be honest, it would have to either america or switzerland. Most other places a/ Don't treat firearms as consumer item b/ believe that firearms will instantly turn you into a criminal and/or counter/ revolutionary :)

  • ur from switzerland, guete morge

  • and? are you afraid of people owning handguns for rightful self-protection?

  • I would never bye a revolver that doesent have a steel frame!

  • Why? Did you have experience with alloy framed sixguns?

  • Only once, the S&W Mod 10 with alloy frame, Im not sure of the tru model number. But I found that the frame wasnt very strong. Of course that was a long time ago, and I guess that alloy frames have come a long way since.

  • Haven't heard anything about these scandium models but I think I would be concerned with higher pressure rounds like a .357 or .44 MAG. I'm curious to see how these .45 models hold up. Cheers.

  • looks like a nice gun, but, i refuse to buy any gun with an internal lock

  • Your old school right, nothing wrong with that!

  • As far as a revolver goes, I like the S&W 686 4".

    Autos, Glock 21 and a Kimber 5"

  • That gun is fantastic, and would probably be suitable for anything, but I'm going to shoot a cartridge meant for an automatic, I will use an automatic, likewise with larger loads and revolvers.

  • Why? Can't see any reason other than personal preference.

  • This gun is made by the S&W Pro Center, and is made to very high, very exacting standards, and it costs well over $1000 dollars. Granted, if im going to fire an automatic cartridge it would be out of an automatic and not from a revolver. But revolvers in general are far more controllable and user friendly than an automatic. More to the point, the point of Clint's teachings are firearms ownership is just personal defense, What you talking about? you are going to kill someone or something?

  • ??? What are YOU talking about? I didn't ask about this specific gun nor about Smith's teachings. I asked why do you state that " if im going to fire an automatic cartridge it would be out of an automatic and not from a revolver."

  • I agree with vaxxon, you pretty much seem to be spouting nonsense here. S&W has been making revolvers in .45 ACP for decades, and some pretty rough men have been using them.

  • he speaks too fast

  • He's Clint Smith. You either keep up with his teachings or leave.

  • *daddys version of a kids cap gun

  • First, No. Second, If I shot you with it, (which I would never do unless you threatened my life, my family or my property) would you say "oh its just a cap gun" or would you sit there and bleed with a .45 slug in your chest?

  • so if he threatens your mailbox your going to shoot him? lol

  • don't yell your scaring me. that gives them mental help to just bum rush you.

  • Well, Buzman you seem to have a problem with Clint Smith for no apparent reason. 1st, I'm sure that Surefire is proud to have branched out to almost all aspects of firearms which includes revolvers, hell they even attached a light to the "Ma Deuce". And 2nd, Surefire shows not favoritism to instructors, even to go as far to have they're own fucking school where they test they're shit. All revolvers are not "antiques"! 1911s are great with John Mosses Browning sitting on the right hand of god.

  • National Open Carry day on July 4th-6th, 2008

    Spread the good word!!

Because "A Right restricted is a Right denied" and "a Right not exercised is a Right lost."

Copy and paste this message on all handgun videos on youtube!

  • If it's a revolver, I rather those 8 shot S&W 357 revolvers, you have more fire power over this other gun in the video.

  • I have two kids so I would absolutely clear my house if I suspected an intruder inside.

  • Ummm, I would hope you would get your kids and get them to safety. What if they are already in your kids room? I wouldn't clear the house I would go get them with my shotgun and make it to a safe room.

  • Buzman, I respect your choice in firearms. Glocks are great. However, you cannot convince me that autos are superior to revolvers in every way. It simply is not true. I've also noticed that all you do is repeat yourself when no one responds to you. If you have nothing new to contribute, why bother typing your message? You also seem to have a problem with Clint Smith. That's fine, state your thoughts and be done with it. Move on man.

  • I know that Surefire is ashamed to have some idiot rave on about how they think that Surefire is ashamed to have their lights mounted on a respected weapon used by one of the greatest firearms instructors in the US.

  • Sweet, I just saw on of these in a antique store with a lantern ducked taped to it.

  • I've got one of these revolvers, wonderful firearm, beautifully made, and easy to shoot accurately.

I can actually reload this gun faster than my Browning Hi-Power. Its great

  • iv got a .44 magnum colt anaconda

  • "You're scaring me" Yes show* fear to the intruder. Grab a 12 Gauge, lock your bedroom door call Police. Property can be replaced, your life can't. I would only leave my bedroom for family members, no property in your home is worth your life.

  • Grab a 12 guage, lock your bedroom door and call Police? Hahaha! That's your idea of tactics? You're such a dolt. A complete dolt.

  • I bet even Clint Smith would say that. Have a good bedroom door with a deadbolt. Is your property worth your life? Thats what insurance is for. I would only leave my bedroom if I had a child in another room. Thats when you "grab a 12 gauge", and clear your house.

  • Why are you even assuming that an intruder is necessarily an attacker? Secondly, why are you assuming that if he's an attacker that he's not going to enter the premises somewhere between you and the bedroom?

This stuff is far more complicated than you realize.

  • Any person who enters my home without either my knowledge or approval is subject to whatever I wish. Once they unlawfully entered my household, their rights (even if they may still be upheld by whatever fucked up law your country states) are forfeit. As to the mans tactics, the only other method of adequately defending himself other than employing a 'panic room' is to arm himself within his own household, as any placement of a defensive firearm has the possibility of being intercepted before...

  • he can reach it. As for your name calling and beratings, I'd point out that treating any foreign person within your household as anything less than a suspect often ends with the police drawing a white outline around your body.

  • he can reach it. As for your name calling and beratings, I'd point out that treating any foreign person within your household as anything less than a suspect often ends with the police drawing a white outline around your body.

  • "any person who enters my home without either my knowledge or approval is subject to whatever I wish."

You're wrong. Both morally and legally. I'd suggest you look into your country's laws a little more closely.

  • Don't even touch the moral reasoning. The assumption that law makes it moral is so incorrect that it doesn't require debate, it requires ignoring. As for the law, I'd much rather spend a decade behind bars than deal with the emotional trauma of either a raped or deceased member of my kin. Jaulumba puts it well; I wouldn't pull the trigger unless the intruder became violent.

  • Yes, you wouldn't pull the trigger unless the intruder became violent. In which case you'd be within the law.

  • YOU are wrong. If anyone enters your house illegally (i.e. without consent), you are allowed to shoot them. At least that's the law in my state. Also, what the hell does being a violent attacker have to do with anything? My question is: what the FUCK are they doing in my house to begin with? None of this "assuming" what he's going to do bullshit. YOU can assume all you want. I just hope you don't get robbed or killed over it.

  • What is your reasoning behind this claim? If you don't want to go to jail, you need to look like a victim. The police will be able to tell where and when the intruder was shot. To survive a legal battle you have to show that you had no choice but to shooting the intruder. That is how it works here in Cali anyway.

  • thats stupid reasoning. the only real advantage of a semi-auto is the amout of rounds. and in 1911 you only get one more. Revolvers generally fire more powerful loads, and can never jam. what happens if you go to give the bad guy a mozambique drill and you jam after the first round? then your screwed.

  • This looks like an awesome gun and the light rail makes sense for home/personal defense at night.

  • hell if you can't kill something with six bullets you sure as hell shouldn't have something that holds eighteen. oh, and note that movies aren't the greatest place to evaluate the performance of firearms

  • So i shouldnt carry a m60 to protect myself?

lol i agree you definatly need to put time in on a range to evaulate any kind of firearm for any purpose

  • all you need is skill, not a pound of ammo

  • Hey, watch your index finger when you pull the trigger

  • "Don't slice the pie like this guy, his tactics will get you killed. For Christ sake he advocates a Revolver for home defense."

I know right! Autos always work in the movies! Just watch the Matrix! How are you supposed to hit your target with only 6 rounds? Spray and Pray is my motto, 18 rounds baby!

  • Revolvers are more reliable for this application. 1)They have fewer moving parts =less to go wrong 2)If you leave an auto loaded for long periods (ie keeping it stowed for home defense) the magazine springs weaken and don't feed the rounds properly, leading to a stoppage 3)A revolver such as the SW327 (.357) can hold 8 rounds 4)How many people do you expect to burgle a house at once? 5)And what are the chances you could plug a dozen armed men and live? 6)The revolver can come in bigger calibers.

  • Apparently your not good with the concept of sarcasm:)? I carry a revolver for a reason, they ALWAYS work.

  • How about this? I'll carry the weapon I think is best (a wheelgun) and you cary the weapon you think is best.

Your inability to respectfully accept the fact that people do believe in things that you do not, makes me very skeptical that you are responsible or even old enough to carry a firearm anyway.
