  • That guy who asks the question at the start looks like that guy from a Lennon documentsry who was found outside Lennon's house. He was obsessed with his lyrics, convinced that John was writing about him. Wonder if it's the same guy?

  • If you want to fight the establishment do it subtly so the establishment cannot fight back, well said.

  • im dumb thats why i dont use capital letters and my youtube comments have no point

  • Me and John have the same exact personality I agreed on everything he said :)

  • Why is everyone sweaty

  • diggin it...sweaty pits and sweaty bristols...

  • Comment removed

  • Could someone help me, I can't understand what are john and dick saying when they turn the sound off

  • MY MOMMA SAYS OBAMA!

  • lol he would like to see the ping pong people and the hole forest gump thing thats clever hollywood

  • @bubblesmilesify

Yes, he's sweating, dear. Remember: He may have been famous, but he was also human. It's not like legends don't sweat. (:

  • Just curious though, not really bashing on to John Lennon or something but, are his armpits sweating? I know it's a dumb question but, just really curious y'know.

  • but really... when is the media so great? like now a days for instance. they are in so many famous peoples business its ridiculous. people do the same things every day that tiger woods and charlie sheen did. i don't see people getting all up in their face. its none of our business! and it is true the beatles were more popular than Jesus. so what does that about people?

    R.I.P. John

  • John we miss you. Hope you have it great where ever you are now <33

  • They guy that ask the first question was the guy that was outside of John house in Imagine: John Lennon

  • @MontegoJoker14 Looks like him, but it is a different guy. A friend of the guy in the audience posted here once - it's a different guy than the one in the garden.

  • @palejewel676 He is the spitting image of him :O

  • Fuck Communism.

  • I love you John... but Revolution #9 was not a "abstract picture," it was a really baaad night that someone forgot to cut off the tape before the White Album was released.

  • @littleMIssOsen That "Were more popular than Jesus" was taken out of context. It was manufactured by the so-called Media, or the consent was manufactured to destroy their image. The fact of the matter is this, Rock N'Roll meant more to teenagers than religion did. Rock was more important to most kids of my generation (including myself) than Sunday School. Perhaps, Lennon, and his generation felt the same when they were teenagers in the 50s. when Rock made the crossover.

  • John Lennon, you are officially my adopted brother okay? I love you, your music, your sense of humor, your art, and how you in vision the world. If I were there that day, I would have asked you that question, and what you think you would have been like at 70 :) Then I would somehow sneak backstage, tell you I know whats going to happen to you, and then make sure you stay away from MDC that night and bring body guards with you so I can see you again now :)

Don't you wish that was a reality?

  • @Aliceisamazing1234 yes. i really do. :(:

  • They bleeped it out when he said shit <3 hhahaha

  • @littleMIssOsen Wrong quote. Not more powerful, more *popular* which in the UK, they were:

Correct quote: Christianity will go. It will vanish and shrink. I needn't argue about that; I'm right and I'll be proved right. We're more popular than Jesus now; I don't know which will go first—rock 'n' roll or Christianity. Jesus was all right but his disciples were thick and ordinary. It's them twisting it that ruins it for me

  • @palejewel676 I love that quote, because that's exactly how I think. I'm alright with Christianity and Catholicism, but I think that the churches started twisting it around, so I don't believe in the church, rather I believe that there is something out there. It's called being a Deist, which I'm guessing is what John was

  • @palejewel676 To me it seems both Rock 'n' Roll AND Christianity are shrinking.

  • i lov him and Yoko, i don'tthink Yoko got a lot of credit as an artist singing or anything else. Yoko is one of my favorite female singers and if you got a problem with that you can reply, if you agree you can relpy too...But back to John....John was always an isperation to me and to alot of people, he was one of the best things that happened to planet Earth. He lives forever in the minds, hearts, spirits, ears, and voices of his fans. R.I.P. John Lennon

  • :L johns sweat patches

  • Man he was so smart, I also enjoy the part in which he said "I don't Care" God I love he's sense oh humor.

  • the legend !

  • Srry 4got 2 rate

  • @peace4everist ya I love him to his birthday is coming up you know. October 9

  • This man, you either love or hate...I, personally, LOVE him...

  • i did not say he deserved it -- i say he called in for it somehow -- there is a difference to me still, --

and i have the right to say that, because i sanely admired john lennon since i was a kid, for his warmheartedness and his creativity and and and...

  • whats with the ghost noises half way through :L

  • somehow lennon really called in for his fate, he was such a rude, arrogant big mouth, the older i get he looks to me like the most dim of the beatles, and not their +head+

  • When it comes to media or art, you have the right to look, watch, listen or not,. If you don't like what John Lennon says literally or through his art, don't. How dare you say that he "called in for his fate". So a musician and artist gets gunned down in front of his home, ultimately dies and, because he speaks his mind, he deserves it? Please..get over yourself!!

  • @cori08advlife

and when it comes to media it is also my right to say what i want to.

    take it easy

  • The guy at 11 seconds I swear was the homeless guy in a video I have about John Lennon talking to a guy tresspassing on his grounds.

  • The guy at 11 seconds I swear was the homeless guy in a video I have about John Lennon talking to a guy tresspassing on his grounds.

  • The guy at 11 seconds I swear was the homeless guy in a video I have about John Lennon talking to a guy tresspassing on his grounds.

  • Ahh snarky snarky

  • he he my video

  • John laying down the law!

  • what is the word they said by the end?

  • what did he say? this is to insert or what...?

  • wheres the rest?

  • There are 6 excerpts up on this channel...The rest of this show and the other show are available in full on the DVD. There's a link in the info, but this is all I have.

  • Thanks for posting! He truly was a good man and he will be missed continually. Rest In Perfect Peace, John Lennon.

  • "This is to insert!" hahaha that was funny.

  • My old friend John N, from Bayside, Queens, NY has his 15 minutes of fame: first guy at the mike grilling Lennon about an article in Ramparts. Bravo!

  • Glad you posted. You can clear something up. For years, youtubers have been theorizing your friend is the same guy who was camping in Lennon's garden on the "Imagine" DVD - others say no way. Do you know?

  • wheres the rest of the interview mate :\

  • @palejewel676

No it is definately NOT the same guy as in the "Imagine" DVD. I have this directly from the dear boy himself.

  • Didn't think so. Thanks! Now I have proof. :-)

  • R.I.P LENNON LEGEND.

  • the truth in the form of a man.

  • thxz

  • at 3:38 what dose that mean

  • It means "Fuck Off" or more politely, "Get Lost".

  • i'm sure John wanted to do this this debate more than the host.

  • 4:44

    John is seeating like crazy

  • and i sent a postcard to ringo last week... haha

  • haha this reminds me of forrest gump

  • this is the appearance that was used for Forrest Gump

  • haha yea i know im just saying

  • yes but they put different words in on forest gump.

  • The guy asking the first question from this part looks very much like the hippy tramp at the end of the making of imagine 'give me some truth' Iwho is looking for some great answer from John. I wonder if it is him? Or maybe a stooge of johns or maybe not him can someone else take a look and see if its him

  • Hi Mate,

It's so funny you say that because the second i saw him, i thought the same and i was about to add it as a comment ! I'm almost sure it's definitely him ! Same looks and also the way he speaks, i.e. very distinctive. How he went from the US to Ascot is a mystery...

  • was just thinking the exact same thing! must be him for sure.

  • that's so right jimistoenail

  • i thought the exact same thing when i seen it :O

  • @jimistoenail I SAID THE SAME THING DUDE....

  • No, it's a different guy. His old friend recognized him and posted. Different guy from the garden guy. (@captsub is the friend).

  • йоко здесь нет

  • lennons armpits are soaked

  • gee...thanks for taking time to write that. (?!)

    People...sigh..

  • what?

  • @DrScholls1 That's a good thing, trust me.

  • lol.Paul is dead...what ever...:))

    i love John!

  • As a matter of fact if he pretended something he didn't show in order to oneself then on television.

  • i mean the guy in a blue shirt;)

  • I think that this guy is simply going looking for John, I would also traipse after John if I could.

  • THAT GUY WHO IN THE BLUE DENIM SHIRT WITH THE LONG HAIR SPLIT IN THE MIDDLE AT THE BEGINNING IS THE SAME FUCKING GUY THAT TURNS UP IN JOHN'S GARDEN IN THE "IMAGINE" FILM!!! Fucking hell!! Check it out if you don't believe me. He's the dude that John says to "im just a guy you know, i write songs. i write mostly about me, or yoko, and i had a good shit this morning..ect.." Weird..

  • That is exactly what I thought when I saw him...it's the same guy from the documentary. Weird! Was he stalking John? This tv interview was in Sept. '71. When he showed up at the house did that take place after this interview? If not, did they recognize him?

  • Well i read that the Imagine documentary was released actually round the same time September 71', so either way, wow the encounters were offly fucking close. i have to believe its the same guy. He looks very similar, and his way of talking gives him away. i am not sure which encounter happened first though? Probably the one in John's garden? i doubt John remembered him in the studio, 1,000s of people were always after lennon, but im sure he remembered the garden thing for the rest of his life..

  • ...yeah the guy where Lennon talks to him about doing a shit, or loving Yoko, for how he's inspired, and then they feed him. That guy was so lucky, being invited in to eat in Lennon's house...Wow!

  • @mrchitown29 HE IS THE SAME GUY... WOW... :S

  • No, it's a different guy. His old friend recognized him and posted. Different guy from the garden guy. @captsub.

  • GENIOUS! i love john. i love love love love LOVE him!

  • waycrosswaif:your commment is rubbish and wrong and it labels bad bad comment

  • it is, indeed the same nutcase than on the documentary alright I wondered where I had seen that face before and why I instantly felt unconfortable... Too bads the Lennons didn't hire bettter security staff to protect them from such re-encounters, but who could know what a deranged fan would do eventually?

  • haha @ 4:32 dick cavett calls that guy "miss"

  • the guy who asks three questions from the audience is also in the imagine video...he's the guy who's camping out in john's backyard fyi

  • Is that true??

    That guy's a stalker.

  • I was just thinking the same thing! This can't be a coincidence. So either this guy is some sort of stalker or... He could've been an employee of the Lennons, hired to act out the part of 'the man in the street' every now and then.

  • Is John sweating like shit?

  • OH MY GOD.....If anyone has seen the documentary about John Lennon where this guy here in the beginning asks this question...he's also in the documentary--the guys who's walking around their house in Ascot and John confronts him later and talks to him further about things this guy can't seem to get over, and then invites him in to eat cause he's a bum...omfg...its the same guy!

  • he`s the guy who directed Imagine the documentary. " Are you hungry " great line from the doc.

  • When i saw that guy, i thought, 'is that the guy from the imagine documentary?'

Looks like other people think it is too.

How do you know he directed the documentary?

  • yes yes it is!!!

  • Could you imagine John Lennon, Bob Dylan and Bob Marley met and did some songs together.....!! Men of substance...

  • ...abuse

    haha jkjk

  • hahaha.....nice one. But ofcourse you know what I meant

  • i did

  • Look under Johns armpit... He must have had a rough day

  • he was the biggest man in music history and he always will be. noone can compare to him because the shits produced nowadays are just annoying and i wonder why the real music of the past cannot be repeat now. is it so hard or was something special in the air then?

  • If you see "Imagine John Lennon" (it's a movie) and the first guy looks like the guy that was living outside his house?!

John Lennon is my HERO..I LOVE YOU!

  • in what partdo they ask him if paul was dead?

  • now I see

  • People please answer, is it me, or the courrent pop culture is less articulate, more vane, less idealistic, more of the part of than part of the change. No wonder why i can't relate 99% of my generation. I note this ongoing trend and I am only 20.

  • It was pretty much just Lennon and Dylan, IMO, even back then. Take those two away and it was just as stupid and inarticulate as any other era. And Dylan was only articulate in lyrics. Every era has one or two.

  • It does seem that way doesn't it. I think with the way people are connected now via TV and the internet people have been barraged with codes of how to be by the media, rather than the internet being using by people as a mode to discuss new ideas.

  • If you read some books about postmodern culture such as Harvey's 'Condition of Postmodernity' or Jamesons 'Postmodernity, cultural logic of late capitalism' they'll give you some ideas why popular culture is far less ideologically driven or utopian. Who knows, with the economic crisis that we are seeing, people might want to start getting political again. :)

  • I really miss John...and that's funny cause I was born in 1984. I really think the world needs him now, a communicator, a person with such values would be really great in these days of war and hate.

  • I love how john subtly mocks dick. (with the laughing at (4:27-4:30) he's so funny!

  • I don't think that was so subtle haha

  • A stong brilliant voice that is missed.but still remembered. Thanks for posting

  • Thank you very much for posting these wonderful videos.

  • What is john listing @2:28? something with theatre in court. am i right?

  • Yes, he says, "Theatre in court and/or bed events, Two Virgins". I think he just means ways of performing and protesting, different types of works of art and different ways of getting your message across.

  • Why did you turn the volume low after John said he wasn't an intellectual and not articulate? Did he curse?

  • I didn't do it, the network censor did back when this was first televised.

  • I love how Yoko's eyes start wandering when the sirens go off.

  • this is my favorite interview of john lennon. it's just a full show of just john and yoko telling about their lives and their thoughts about the world. it's very casual and very fun.

  • I agree with 7beers, this is a really great interview. John and Yoko have very interesting views of the world, and I agree with a lot of them. I wish everyone was as intelligent as them...

  • Fantastic interview - all 6 parts.

  • I wonder if John chose — being anti-war as he often stated — to wear the U.S. Army shirt (2nd Army Infantry Division) for any particular reason. My father was 2nd Army Infantry so I recognize that patch and as I child when I would see him wearing it, I always wondered what the connection was.

  • He's making an anti-violence statement ... not necessarily anti-military . .. maybe he supports the military . .. of course only Lennon knows the real reason, it could just be that he likes that kinda fashion, I've often wanted to buy those nazi overcoats from the second world war actually

  • I luv John I really do but ppl think that Yoko stinks she is really sweet i dont really care if people say bad stuff about her but ppl should include her in more cause she is sooo nice and if john loves her then that is all that matters

  • omg if i were able to talk to Lennon i would probably explode

  • John Lennon for president!!! most intelligent persona ever! R.I.P. John and George

  • fuck. that's the same bloke fromt he garden except less drugged up. craaaazy.

  • wait a second..it is the gorgeous guy from his bushes!!

    omg that strange

  • Exactly! That was the first thing I thought when I saw this!

  • the guy from the audience looks exactly like the man who was hiding in his garden for a few days that he took in for breakfast when john found out..

    weird

  • Somebody find that couch, and clone John Lennon from his armpit sweat!!!!

  • LMFAO, exactly!

  • whats the deal? That dude is the guy that was sleeping in Johns bushes in the Imagine film! I wonder if this was before or after that happened

  • Wow! Just thought the same thing myself!

  • MichaelMacer, read the above comment that I left if you are reffering to the man sleeping in Johns Bushes in the imagine film on the Dick Cavett show. If not than I'm sorry to have bothered you.

  • Interesting I thought I was alone in realizing that. Thanks for confirming. Do you think our realization of this is something cosmic or am I just being silly? Perhaps it's just a coincidence however, the fact that 3 of us realize that this guy is John and Okos harmless admirer in the vid makes it all the more strange and beautiful don't you think?

  • I thought that too!

  • i realized that! invited him in for some food!

  • He comes across really well in this interview I think. A really down to earth bloke who wants to change things but not in a patronising preachy way.

  • she nneedss a good bra!

    watch "imagine" the documentary

Im sure that fucker shows up at johns house off his head on acid.

yeah that's the guy, soon as i saw him i went ' he's in the imagine film'....... fucking stalker lol

  • omg i've been looking for a reaction to john about the Paul is dead rumor.

    THANKS FOR POSTING!

    john is halarious<3

  • Yes that does look like the guy that shows up at Ascot, wasted good eye colmanaucoin !

  • no, you're full of shit. and stupid, too! wanker

  • attention seeking cock (waycrosswaif)

  • deep down you agree because you would have a better more pationate come back otherwise. you let his rotten corpse down im afraid you failed the crappy beatles. lolololololololololololololololololol

  • Just ignore animals such as waycrosswaif. He's just another self-absorbant bastard who wouldn't know art if it crawled up his asshole. Actually I bet it's so wide he would realize if just about anything crawled up there, the fucking homo. waycrosswaif, I don't believe in violent revolution, but I'd love to fucking curbstomp your ass you ignorant bastard.

  • i'm sorry about that waycross. i feel bad for you but you're so wrong!

    *severely

    *left and right

    *passionate

the crappy beatles just happen to be the best, most original, most evolving band the world has ever seen, and they had personality to boot. also they gave it all up after just 6 years of worldwide fame, which i think shows something quite admirable in them as people. they could have kept churning it out like the stones, but they stopped when their hearts weren't in it anymore.

  • kinda like take that then

  • and in one sentence, you prove that you know nothing about music.

  • im only going on your discription of the beatles not mine. so it you that think theyre like take that. listen to something real like sonny boy williamson or lead belly before "imagine"ing you know about music. blues is the truth. Lennon is, was, a fake. And an abusive husband

  • my description? what!? the beatles are nothing like take that - they changed so much about music. blues may be the truth, i don't disagree with you. but it's the truth for some people. not for everybody. not everyone can relate to a certain type of music because everybody's life is different. some people can relate to the blues and A LOT of people can relate to the beatles. take that won't change the world. the beatles, how ever much YOU dislike them, did.

  • you dont have to like them because everyone else does or did your mum not tell you this?

  • i have no mum so no, and nobody i know is very interested in the beatles so... again... no. i've never been into hero-worshipping, i'm a bit sceptical about celebrity culture and so on, but the beatles changed a lot about everything - not just music, and as a teenager of the 21st century, i'm fucking glad alright? ;) lol i still can't believe the take that comment...

  • lolol i love the end when dick asks "do you speak to paul?" and john tells him the last time he talked to paul, george, and ringo..and he's like ok? lol. ah man, i love john lennon. and i can't understand why he's gone. why. imagine, if he were still here.

  • If you had the luck of the Irish

You'd be sorry and wish you were dead

You should have the luck of the Irish

And you'd wish you was English instead!

  • john is a legend

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam

  • excellent thats all i can say. first time i have seen this and i love it.poeple are allowed to contradict them selves so what! its good to see john and yoko back then when they had so much to look foreward to.

  • 00:11

    watch "imagine" the documentary

Im sure that fucker shows up at johns house off his head on acid.

  • I was thinking excactly the same thing, it is him isn't it, stalker!

  • love and miss you john. RIP.
