@smallgiant9 the tremelo works both left and right-handed . the only thing that might be weird is the bar is really meant for right-hand .. so im not sure how that would feel !
@smallgiant9 Great question! All Kahler professional series bridge are designed to be both left or right handed. All you need to do is let us know you need a left handed arm and your good to go.
I have an old "japanese steel reinforced neck" 4 string bass with somewhat of a bo diddley shaped body. Some kind of old teisco type thing. I would be interested in something like this. Is this a "top load" tremolo or is it floating with springs?
@KahlerUSATrems Trying to decide between the 2410 and 7410. Will see what best works with the bass. Any measurements I should consider? Wondering about route depth as its not the thickest instrument. Is 1 inch what I've been seeing? I know I should consider how high the saddles go to match the current setup. After this I have a ten string prototype from oakland axe factory that I'm looking to improve upon. It has fanned frets 30-27 scale. I'm glad to see you have a bridge perfect for it.
@KahlerUSATrems i'm currently trying to decide between the 2410 and 7410. What should I consider for measurements? How deep is the needed route? After this I'm looking to improve on an oakland axe factory prototype fanned fret 10 string 30-27 scale that I've been privileged to acquire. Tom is super cool. The high A is a pita so I'm looking to alter the tuning. I'm too rough on it. Thanks for the reply.
I mostly play folky metal stuff with long sustained notes, just having my bass on my lap and imagining how the lines would sound with a vibrato and I can't help drooling. :D Love the video, vibratos on basses are such a rarity it's nice to have this kind of stuff online. Thanks!
Really impressive presentation. I'm not a picker anymore but if I were AND a bass man.. you would have likely just earned another customer. Thanks for sharing.
I'm not sure I fully understand the difference in sound between using this system and just bending the string with your left hand. But I do know that after watching this I want to try it out for myself now! This was a great video to make me think about a tremolo system for the bass. Awesome technique too. Thanks.
@KahlerUSATrems I never said so, but the person I replied to most likely have never tried both. Saying Floyd Rose suck is therefore ridiculous.
What i meant is that for all i know, Kahler trems can spew out unicorns, rainbows and chocolate because i don't have proof of them doing anything because i haven't tried one, the person was jumping to conclusions.
@Twiggyay He had a signature Floyd while Kahler was on break, and got back to Kahler when Gary Kahler got the company back, you need to try Kahler to see why I prefer it,actually I own 3 floyded guitars, but have 7 Kahlers!
This is bad-assed, Any way to get a left handed version of this tremolo? how about installing it on a fixed bridge bass?

Beautiful tone, playing, and Kahler usage on an equally beautiful early '80s Ibanez Musician!

@nickpelkey Good question. Yes this is a top loading bridge… and yes the bridge does float

sounds like crap to me. no idea why someone would think that would benefit the sound of an awesome bassist.

@IzzyBoyadzhieff Have you ever tried any of them?
One of my guitars have a Floyd Rose, it's great, i've never tried a Kahler, i don't know if they suck.
Twiggyay 5 months ago
@Twiggyay Kahler has been making extremly high quaility tremolos for guitars and basses for 38 years now so we definitely DO NOT suck...

@Twiggyay Kahlers are a million times better, you can watch jeff from slayer in an intervew, he'll tell you why...

@IzzyBoyadzhieff He gets free tremolos and is probably paid to say those things as well, People who have Floyds say the same things.

@IzzyBoyadzhieff That doesn't mean they are better, it's just your preference.
I'm not saying one is better than the other but it all comes down to preference, i prefer hardtails, i don't zay they're superior.
