many cult classic shows only last a season or two, look at the oblongs, mission hill, undergrads, clone high, etc. (yeah i know theyre all cartoons) look at old shows like Get A Life or the Ben Stiller Show, all in the same class as harvey birdman, all have their audience, all enjoyed by comedy lovers

also the "poor taste in comedy" thing doesnt work anymore, trust me, comedy is subjective, i live with some girl who thinks she has great taste since she likes every thing that every mainstream comedy fan enjoys, taste is all about discrimination, obviously not everybody is going to agree on everything.
