  • Fuck they were GOOD.

  • I think Tony is high.

  • John Spence (3 February 1969–21 December 1987) was a founding member of the band No Doubt, along with Eric and Gwen Stefani. Spence, who came up with the band's name, shared lead vocals with Gwen. He committed suicide by gunshot in a parking lot in Anaheim, California in December 1987, early in No Doubt's existence, and therefore never appeared on any of the band's albums. After his death, Gwen Stefani took over all lead vocals.

  • the original frontman died at age 18. supposidly he shot himself in a park in anaheim

  • this is badass

    Tom's guitar is pretty...... unique

    love the sound

  • They didn't "boot" Eric from the band. He left.

  • What's Eric doing now?

  • @noutubeusrnames He left no doubt to become an animator for 'The Simpsons.' Not sure if he still is doing that though

  • Eric did NOT commit suicide. He recently finished work on a short animation film titled "Frisbee" released 2007 & solo album "Let's Ride Horses" (2007). He's on the cover of the last one & looks REALLY OLD.

  • No... That was John Spence...

  • @sunpistorange this is very true. I'm Eric sister in law and he did choose to leave and go forth with his journalist career.

  • @sunpistorange Yup. AND he only wrote the first two albums. He was still in the band up until right after the release of Tragic Kingdom. . . Which Gwen wrote the lyrics to.

  • @noutubeusrnames he actually left to pursue an animating career (he worked on early versions of the simpsons) so get your facts straight.

  • thats gwen stefani

  • you this was in 1980 right?

  • 1990...

  • you can't tell the difference between 1980 and 1990 Jojo!?

    wow

  • favorite video on youtube

  • this video is very rare,

  • @maloko123 This video is not rare since it's on Youtube.

  • @maloko123 This Video IS MY FAMILYS TV SHOW. Thats my mom in the begining. Please Check My Channel. 505555 Faust Productons, And Yes this is there First TV cable television Apperience

  • @maloko123 this video is so rare that you can access it anytime by typing no doubt first video into youtube. lol

  • They still could jump around in that crampy studio. Her shoes looks like my bunny slippers. Cute though. The boys looked kinda funny with all the hairs.

  • The members of No Doubt have aged so minimally over the years is due to the fact they're Californians, and as we all know, Californians eat an inexplicably high large number of oranges, which are loaded with the antioxidant vitamin C!

  • LMAO. I live in N. Hollywood California and have an orange tree, so maybe it's true!

  • gwen was a way better singner back in the days then now, she cant even reach the notes today with akon lol

  • What the fuck happens with the tambourine-guy att 6:20??

  • Gwen was 20 in this video , damn this was 20 years ago !!!

  • love tom and tony in this video so much

  • This is so cool, its like the cast of Saved by the Bell started a band! Great seeing them in the early days.

  • they are forevaaaa ska. ;)

  • Wow I have never seen this before. I have always loved no doubt and especially gwen, but seeing this brings it all to a whole new level!

  • ;D cool!

  • Anyone notice that the sax solo at 0:48 is nearly identical to the famous guitar solo on Don't Speak (2:44 on the "No Doubt - Don't Speak(official music video"). Could be coincidence, but then, you never know how musicians' minds work. Maybe Gwen or the guitarist really like this particular lick. Still, a bit freaky :-o

  • :O! very true! same rythm ..even same chords haha sounds pretty similar

  • Im GWENS #1 FAN

  • oh yeah I'll challenge you

  • is tom the guy in white? at the guitar

  • Were they considered ska back then? Or now?

  • they were ska than yes not so much now

  • They started off as a Ska-pop band, Eric taught Gwen about 2-tone music so yes they were originally a ska band, now they sorta sold out...

  • Just because their tastes in music changed and matured doesn't mean they sold out. It means they branched out, as all great music groups do. Eric was the person who was pushing their music more in the direction of ska, and it wasn't as ska-heavy after he left.

  • Badass video! Hahaha! I love her tiny voice. She's all nervous at the end.

  • how old you think gwen stefani is in this i she was born on oct 3 1969

  • do the math...

  • fuck look at tony.lol

  • i admire gwen only coz she was from no doubt....

  • I don't know about you but i'm in love with Gwen Stefani

  • Gwen's voice is sexy even this early.

  • vintage moves!

  • Gwen's vocals back then were freaking out of this world. I miss them ;(

  • thats funky

  • Comment removed

  • No Doubt RULE!!!!

  • love it <3 i miss old no doubt. i can't believe she gave up this band for back up dancers

  • @ximpossiblesx completely incorrect. She didn't "give it up", they're still a band and are releasing a new album this year. Her solo records is an 80's dance album and she wanted it to be a ND record and the boys didn't want it to. They stopped making ska because it's a claustrophobic genre after about 10 years.

  • love their clothing style back then.. haha =)

    I mostly love this band!

  • umm she loved ska. She wasn't looking to be in a band.

  • if u knew their history, u would know that her brother actually made her sing backup, til the lead singer committed suicide and gwen stepped up!

  • yes your right

  • I love the clothes :)

    and "old" no doubt

  • love this shit, i don't like hi def shit, this that local shit, you get after midnight

  • i really like this i wish i could have lived back then to see this

  • great music- the early no doubt was making fascinating ska, it`s a shame how Gwen`s music-style changed till now

Hope No Doubt will get together and reunite someday!

  • they are recording a new album!

  • and theyre going on tour this summer around u.s. and canada

  • i hadn't seen this one before..good stuff. i have tons of NO DOUBT stuff on my list at "geocities dot come slash rmunozlive"...check it out

  • no fucking doubt

  • cool

  • I love this! Thank you for posting. It's amazing how far the band has come. Isn't Gwen the cutest? I love her dance moves, and scuffies. She's so cute! and those guys, with that hair! This was 13 days before I was born!! No Doubt and I were both saying hello to the world at the same time!

  • ha! awesome, thanks for posting this.

  • she's much better live in this video than all the stuff she does now

  • omg is tony the one with the red shirt and long black hair????!

  • Yup, that's him.

  • That trumpet playa rocks, GOD DAMN!!! And let me just say that, I am tha best lookin' CAT present in this here vid!

  • Hey Gabriel! How are you? Nice to "meet" you! :D

  • Wussup, nice to "meet" you too. Hey, just to let you know, these vids make me feel old as hell! But those were cool days, let me tell ya. Thanks for postin' - Peace

  • you are the trompet guy? ohh! nice!! i probably was soo nice to play in no doubt!!

  • Yes it was, I remember that day like it was yesterday. We were all so nervous, but it was fun.

  • ;BBB, are you working with No Doubt on their new record? I'm hoping for a real ska sound, but I don't know if they'll do that. The last two studio albums were pop. Join them again!

  • No I am not working with ND. You know it's sad, but I think that they will not go back to the hardcore ska sound. As cool as ska is, the market is small. I think that the label looks at the $ sign, and ska isn't a big money maker. But, lets hope I am wrong. Chris Leal (the original bass player) and myself are forming a true roots ska band. We have Eric Stefani and Rick Bonnon (the keys for The Skeletones) agreeing to co-write / produce and record with us. It should be pretty cool, I can't wait!

  • You never know, with the right marketing ska could replace all popular sounds today, haha. But the whole thrill of having an almost avant-garde sound is exciting for me. Music should be about music, not money. I look forward to hearing some music from the band! Eric will probably bring a cult following, will he not?

You must keep us all up-to-date with the progress! Good luck! ;B

  • I will most def keep you informed, and thanks for the support.

  • how cute!! she was nervous!!! i love them! actually they all seemed nervous..

  • adrian looks real good in this video! >:)

  • she was about 20 in 1990

  • I'm lovin' Gwen's overalls....at least thats what I think they are...

  • that is amazing, what is gwen 15 in this? haha thanks for posting i had never seen this!

  • holy shit... they were so young!!! long live ND!
