@rg1565 Because if a carrier wanted to run a terminal to get out of the country, then you wouldn't need to get a connecting flight. However, since no carriers run a out of country terminal at an international airport, you need to get a connecting flight. In other words: the airport supports it, the carriers don't.
Why is it called an International Airport when you have to get a connecting flight to go outside of the country?
