during one of our football games here at Syracuse University, Mr. Peterson sang this song at halftime accompanying a beautiful video tribute to our troops, I was standing on the sideline with the SU Marching Band and I was fighting back tears at the end it was so powerful, it made me think of my grandmother whose only brother died in World War II and it made me remember the time she showed me his Purple Heart and to this day, I have the letters he wrote my grandmother
