What's the point of the "X" move? can't the algo be simplified quite a bit by just making some of the U's into F's?
Also it would help me a bit if your "3 cases" description here contained some description of what the cases actually are -- like OOXOO, OXOXO, OXXXO (or something like that).
I hope you read this. But I think you wrote the algorithm for parity case 2 incorrectly. Notice in the video how you put the front face up the top. So in reality it's a front instead of an up. x U2 3R 2R' U2 x this bit should be x F2 3R 2R' F2 x I'm pretty sure.
I hope you read this. But I think you wrote the algorithm for parity case 2 incorrectly. Notice in the video how you put the front face up the top. So in reality it's a front instead of an up.
Extremely helpful video. I'm very impressed. Extremely good. We need cubers like you who explain things very well. I don't have anything bad to say about the video. It's just great.
i really do hate this video and i know people are going to say "then don't watch it" but i feel like i have to because this is the best youtube has to offer on 7x7 parity cases. Your video is downright horrible, you go way too fast and even though the algorithms are written in the description I'm on youtube to have someone show me how to do it not read an algorithm list. Hopefully your future videos are better and are a little more step by step.
@JostleCubed you're the one that really sucks. sucks at reading that is. i didnt complain about notation. i just wanted to see it done a little bit more slowly. if i could do it 100% by reading notations i would be on google searching for a list. Stupid...
@timberswiss3 But, if you could properly read notation, his speed shouldn't make a difference, you could just read the alg. So either, you suck at learning algs, or you can't read notation. Go learn more algs, or learn how to read notation.
@JostleCubed you just don't understand the fact that some people are visual learners. if a video is made its for the visual learners because "cube masters" like you can just read an algorithm list and solve the cube. congratulations, now leave people alone that don't learn quite like you do jerk
@timberswiss3 No... you just suck, also I'm not a cube master. I average 21-23 for 3x3. However I can read notation, it's not my fault you're too lazy to learn.
@JostleCubed im not gonna argue with you anymore and ill end this on this note. i am not lazy because i am choosing to learn. i am fine with notation but i get mixed up with x and y turns. so there. work on your people skills, those aren't as easy to learn as notation is but with perseverance you'll be fine.
@timberswiss3 But... notation include rotations... You could just learn that. Though, if you're having trouble, XYZ follows RUF, so x would be like an R but with the entire cube, same for y = U and F = z. Same goes for y' etc.
Second algorithm you posted is wrong.The correct is 3R U2 3R x U2 3R 2R' U2 x' 2L' 3L U2 2L 3L' U2 3R' 2R U2 3R 2R' U2 3R' U2 3R' what you do in the video is not correct,in move no 8 you write "3L' 2L U2 2L' 3L U2 etc" while the correct is " 2L' 3L U2 2L 3L' U2 etc"
it's nice but please next time do it a little slower,it's too confusing and fast, plus you roate the cube when you add the x so that would be nice to note, remember you know it by heart but someone that wants to do it,wants to see it slow, maybe 2-3 secs delay between each movement, youtube allows up to ten minutes, other than that it is a nice video...thumbs up
I think that the reason people are confused, is they don't understand the move notation. They probably don't understand what X means. You should probably just put the algorithm in an annotation so people will stop bitching at you.
well, I'm off to find a tutorial that doesn't include x's and where the person actually teaches, doesn't just speed through and tell people to read the description
@Arseization In the video, he did the 3R after doing the x. It doesn't matter if you do the 3R before or after the x, the x won't affect any L or R movements.
@TheYoyodude101 there are three notations that aren't correspondent to the sides, x, y, and z. Those are commands to move not the sides, but the entire cube. imagine the cube is on a 3D axis. X means you rotate the cube clockwise on the X axis. Y on the Y axis. and Z on the Z axis
i had the same problem but you have to look carfully if it says for example "2R' 3R"
youre holding different layers.. and at first i thought x meant the middle layer but i actually means you ahve to turn the whole cube, either x= F becomes U or x' U becomes F
u never did x'

DUDE! What is "x"? You never bother to explain this! Why don't you describe the moves as you do them?
jbinminot 3 months ago
@jbinminot x is moving the cube on the x axis. so in this case x is move the cube so your bottom face becomes your front face and vica versa
cedalege 2 months ago
What does the "x" in the algorithm mean? I understand everything else from the 5x5 but is the "x" the "f" for the 5x5.

@swedishcuber Well put it this way, all the algorithms are the same, except they grip different layers. And yeah you'll want to learn them all.

Second case algorithm: 3R U2 3R x F2 3R 2R' F2 x' 2L 3L' U2 2L' 3L U2 3R' 2R U2 3R 2R' U2 3R' U2 3R'
That should be it. I realised you did 2L then 3L' but in the one in the descritption is the opposite.

not
3R U2 3R x

what does 3R 2R' mean?

for example the first case one goes: 3R, U2, 3R x what is the x
please respond

@TheYoyodude101 it's a cube rotation.
x means you make the side that's the F face and make it become the U face.
