@IDeathMetal58 Not all Staff are Captains, the BN S3 called the Battalion Training and Operations officer is a MAJ, I know, because I am the BN S2 at my school, the Battalion Commander is LTC, Battalion XO is a MAJ S3 is the only staff that is a major, the S1, S2, S4, S5 are all CPTs Company Commanders are CPTs Compnay XO's are 1LTs PLT LDRs are 2LTs. I know my basic staff principles I've been in JROTC for 3 years now, so don't questions me, sorry but you just got schooled lol

@bowler20001 You and your JROTC are dumbasses, BN S-3 is not MAJ Like all other staff, They are CPTs, There can only be 1 MAJ and that is the XO. I'm in JROTC as a LET 2 aswell, But I know alot more shit than most of the LET 4's. Sorry but you got schooled harder.

@IDeathMetal58 BN S3 is a Major they are third in command, and take over in absence of the Battalion Commander and the Battalion XO, they are second in command when the battalion commander dies, they become the BN CDR. In the real Army a S3 is a major, my SAI at my school is a LTC, and he was a S3. so don't even start to tell me that there is only one major in a Battalion, there is two, prehabs it's your school who is the dumasses, we have never done it different through 4 or 5 SAI's

@bowler20001 Every school but your shitty school goes by CPT rank throughout S1-5, Remember that every school does it differently, My school has kept Honor Unit with Distinction for 10-11 years and Not ONE inspector has questioned our SAI(Ret.) Col. Don Bills about BN S3 being a Major. Let me keep you in check that Staff can't outrank eachother, And that JROTC is Not the Real Army.

A assistiant staff can be a NCO it is most common for them to be 1 rank below the actual staff officer, but a staff assistant can be a NCO. Not all officers are staff you have the platoon leaders, Company XO's, and the Company Commanders 2Lt, 1Lt, Cpt. Also Ssg is Squad Leaders, Sfc is Platoon Sergeant, Msg is a 2 year Platoon Sergeant or a former 1Sg 1Sg is obivous, and then Csm is the Battalion CSM

Its not a correct statement to say that only officers hold positions and or staff. From Corporal-Sergeant you can be a team leader, SFC- Squad Leader, Master Sergeant- Platoon Sergeant, 1SGT- obviously the position of company first sergeant and then Cadet CSM the senior NCO for the Battalion
