The fact that this show advocates this piece of shit shows how full of shit Future Weapons is. The binding used on Dragonskin plates fail if they come into contact with SWEAT (I wonder if that's a problem in full suits of body armor... oh... wait). They also fall apart in hot or cold environments, they're connected meaning one loose plate can cause large numbers of them to fall off, and it weighs 20 pounds more than the Interceptor. Fact is Dragonskin sucks.
@4321IronMaiden Level 5 dragonskin was classified by the US military after taking hits from ultra high volocity high cal rounds. The tests were classified top secret. That should tell you how good Dragonskin really is on national TV by the news. I saw it. Funny how the army thinks it sucks so bad they will never use it on our soldiers then lable it under top secret! YEAH shows how much dragonskin sucks. Also goverment and special forces use level 3 and level 4 dragonskin today.
@4321IronMaiden Shows how much of an idiot you are to believe false claims by the army to cover up the fact their interceptor body armor sucks compared to dragonskin. Tests done live on the news shows the truth. Even testing level 3 and level 4 ver of dragonskin. Interceptor body armor failed a lot, dragonskin never failed. Many of our soldiers don't get the best armor. I know some who have been saved by dragonskin otherwise would have been killed if wearing interceptor.
@Dorfanable aka anyone lugging around armor that could withstand the force of a .50 would be rendered useless, making your statement really really pointless, aka dumb.
Too bad our military is run by fucktarded penny-pinching bureaucrats otherwise we might've had fewer soldiers killed in Iraq by snipers courtesy of this armor.

@TheMoonmahn and how do you know the adhesive doesn't become brittle (like most do) in cold temperatures? @akzo74 because the inside the armor is highly insulated against cold think about it it's designed to be used in all terrain it's just like my jeep cherokee it's a 95 and it's falling apart but you can beat the shit outta it and it will still run like a pro!
@2HornDogs The military has told the Dragon Skin company to keep it Top Secret but they aren't issuing the armor to military personnel. Even when it's as cheap as the best today.

@meltdown1232000 He may have called it superior, but that means nothing without evidence. The only test that involved large numbers of vests was the US army one, and until someone else does a study, this is the only piece of evidence that you have to judge the armor on, all the other tests have a sample size too small to be reliable. Did you notice that the tests done on Future weapons did not involve the .30-06 or the 7.62x51? Sounds pretty fucking suspicious to me.
@inkbot2000 Yep, the only test that tested large numbers was the Army test....and they fudged the numbers!!!!!!!!!!!
Could it possibly be because the Colonel that RAN THE ARMY test went to work for a manufacturer of Interceptor, right after the test? Could it be because there are so many ex Army officers working for Interceptor manufacturers? Hmmmmm?
Best test of Dragon Skin I heard of was the General test. One General and his staff in Iraq bought DS, on their own..and wear it!
@meltdown1232000 Maybe that one general is just an idiot. There is no evidence that dragon skin is any better than interceptor, and even if the army fucked up the results, there is nothing else that would convince me that lugging around those extra 20 pounds is worth it. You know what stops the bullets? It's not the interceptor vest but the E-SAPI plates manufactured by Cyberdyne (not a joke). Did that colonel go to work for Cyberdyne?
@JGenck Check your info. The AK round is 7.62x39mm and has a muzzle velocity of 2,346 fps.. The Nato round is 7.62x51mm and has a velocity of 2,750 fps. AK effective range about 400 meters where as the 7.62 NATO is effective up to 800 meters.
@owenhump The guy who shoots the guns is not stupid. He's handled almost every single weapon on the face of the planet...I'm sure he knows the difference between an M4 and an M16.
We should phase out the body armor with dragonskin, starting with spec ops since they get shot at the most.
@tom1yum2goong I want proof. Not just someone saying so. I want cold, hard proof. Out of everyone I have asked no one has been able to show me shit. But everyone can talk. I want absolute proof that dragon skin is a 100% complete failure.
@jaysgame I'm not talking out of my ass bro it's true. The plates couldn't hold together in the extreme heat of afghanistan. It became less reliable as it became hotter. You don't have to believe me look it up you'll find the information at the U.S. Army website or even just google it.
@tom1yum2goong Let me make something clear. I don't trust the army...or any other branch for that matter. The higher ups will say whatever they are ordered to say. I want "ABSOLUTE" proof. Absolute proof would be video or in living color. The video I seen released by the army was a few minutes long and no one even said anything about dragon skin. All there was: was a vest being shot at. That's it ! And that's not proof. I'm not stupid. "Go to the army website", what a fucking joke.
@jaysgame Well if that's the case why are you on youtube then? Your not gonna find answer's here. Also if you got a problem with the U.S. military then we got nothing more to discuss.
@jaysgame you'll never get more proof either way or the other, if you're convinced the Army faked tests then their data won't help you, on the other hand Pinnacle is a company that runs on making money and all these youtube videos could have been easily faked during their creation. You might as well just say that neither side is trustworthy and buy the armor yourself cause nothing will make this less convoluted.
@akzo74 That's crap I already know. Like the video released by the army. Not only was dragon skin not mentioned but the video was edited in some places. How do I know what they're doing in the vid. On the other hand: If I seen the tests for myself...in person...then I would have no choice but to believe huh !? I'm not trying to say there's some conspiracy theory here. I'm just saying I do not trust the higher ups. And everyone questions people they don't trust.
@jaysgame exactly, so there's no point in complaining about it on youtube, I guarantee nobody here can give you the proof you need so you might as well save up and buy some. I'm not saying you're wrong for not trusting them but I really don't see the point in telling everyone about it.
@jaysgame the point is if you've actually taken the time to do the research yourself then there's nothing left in the public realm anyone can show you since there isn't a whole lot of data to go through on this, just a few videos and about 3-4 documents presented between the Air Force and Army, so based on that you already have your opinion. Would just question why you seem to think this armor works so well based on the good faith of the company that's trying to market it?
If someone invented perfect body armor, someone somewhere will also try to invent the bullet that make sure to penetrate it. it is the same thing. both side just to make weapon more powerful every time.
Right and that's why you've gotta be on the edge of technology all the time, now i'm no gunfreak or lover of war, but i do think that armor is important, even at it's cost a human life is a human life.
@colton9iscool And what's the Level needed Vs. the RPG / Bazooka round coming straight at you after the 5 seconds break during which your enemies understood that their rifles are ineffective on you...? Cause afterwards your torso could be safe but all its previous attachments, including your head, would be history and that I guarantee.
There is new "liquid armor" called shear-thickening fluids, and have found the best chemicals to use are polyethylene glycol and silica. Dilute the mixture in ethanol and soak the Kevlar fabric. Once soaked, dry the Kevlar in a drying oven to evaporate the ethanol, and you will be left with treated Kevlar.
All the Chemicals are on Ebay too make the super kevlar, you can protect against rifle rounds and spikes with soft armor now if you know how too do it.I dont know how much ethanol to use.
oh right, this 5000 dollar vest is too expensive for each soldier but a single 1 billion dollar submarine is smartly using money, yup, its all bullshit, all they care about is their contract with interceptor, so dont start bitching when russia or china or some invading force takes over the u.s. 1 casualty cause they manufactured stolen dragon skin blue prints you greedy military pricks (resepct to soldiers)
Dragon skin is way better then the IOTV. If you preformed these test on the IOTV you would see for your self. There's no way it can take these many shots and it would not survive a grenade. I find it funny that the military person who's responsible for acquiring body armor is now working for the company that he awarded a billion plus contact to. And that the government classified DS lvl 5 armor. Why???
@forgetfulmandude yes, it sucks. it only stops bullets which come from a 90° angle. everything which comed from an angle more than 45° gets through it because the scalation of those scales are not made to block those rounds. the owner of dragonskin is/was in jail as far as i know
@Scorpac You are right the dragon skin armor is a flat lie. The Army and Air Force tested the armor at separate times and they both failed. Dragon skin could not handle high temperatures or multiple shots at the same disk.
@avran89 Or, maybe the Army and Airforce lies, because the companies who produce the Body Armors which are in use maybe have good connections to the DoD.
@Jaws2blood1 Technically, we could already be using carbon nanotubes to make our skin absorb the impact of bullets, but them tubes have the bad habit of getting inside your cells and ripping your DNA to shreds.
@akzo74 basically the nanosecond something hit your skin with enough force (newton's third law) they would make a round bounce off. Carbon nanotubes appear to be useful for everything - their resistance is theorized to be higher than diamond.
@bf2lover42 but they're not oriented for the shear of an impact and you would almost need more nanotubes there than skin, and that's assuming you could even bond nanotubes to skin, in fact they're probably too small to fit the reinforcement minimization rule so you wouldn't really gain any strength from them.
@akzo74 Crysis is based around existing technology that is far from being completely developed and controllable. Gains on super strength, speed and cloak ability are complete fiction because we still have to go trough many barriers.
But clothing and plates made from the stuff could be very durable and flexible, binding it with our skin will have risks we can't even calculate.
@bf2lover42 there's a difference between having a technology and being able to apply it, I'm willing to bet nobody in the Crysis design team is a materials/biomedical engineer and video games and movies have a really bad habit of looking at things we have and completely misinterpreting our ability to use them.
@akzo74 ok, so you read my comment and repeated what I said with other words. Fine.
I only mentioned Crysis because of monsterrespawn's comment. Last week I attended a presentation about nanotechnology and we are close to replicate neurons with nanotubes and that has nothing to do with game development - we are indeed advancing. Game developers research about what they have at their disposal and I can't criticize them for it.
@bf2lover42 fair enough, my only point is that nanotubes in skin for natural body armor is not a realistic or probably physically possible goal since the amount you'd add to give you strength against impact would make your skin lose all it's elasticity and you wouldn't be able to move.
@akzo74 that's the magic, carbon nanotubes are cylindrical and have a great elastic modulus.
Now imagine your regular polo shirt and pants made of that material that could cover 75% of your body from shrapnel. Or very lightweight and thin plates capable of stopping rounds.
But having nanotube fibers in the air wouldn't be healthy, same reason why asbestos were banned.
@bf2lover42 you just proved my point, they have an excellent elastic modulus making them extremely stiff, so whatever you make out of them is also extremely stiff skin, shirt, whatever.
@edstar83 The extremities are less protected, but still it seems it was not pierced, not forgetting that hole is clearly visible at different moments. I say he didn't do it on purpose, the lower part of the vest is just easier to get a grip on.
@edstar83 I checked five times, there was no hole. And who cares if there's a hole in the front? It's when there's a hole in the back that you should be worried about. There wasn't, so it doesn't matter.
@MrChrisXross I watched it, I also watched him cover the hole 3 times, whether it penetrated through or not, the simple fact is he still tried to cover it up, instead of bring "slight damage" to the outer skin to our attention.
Im not saying this doesn't work, All im saying is the dude failed at trying to cover the cosmetic damage.
Either way, you get shot in the head you're dead. So best thing to do is invest money into Science and Space Exploration and less on murder death and destruction.
@edstar83 fair point he doesn't mention it but this piece of armor is remarkable for it to be able to take a grenade and stop the shrapnel from penetrating into the gut it is a great achievement they just need to develop an all over and moveable body suit that work's :)

@tom1yum2goong I want proof. Not just someone saying so. I want cold, hard proof. Out of everyone I have asked no one has been able to show me shit. But everyone can talk. I want absolute proof that dragon skin is a 100% complete failure.
jaysgame 6 months ago
@jaysgame I'm not talking out of my ass bro it's true. The plates couldn't hold together in the extreme heat of afghanistan. It became less reliable as it became hotter. You don't have to believe me look it up you'll find the information at the U.S. Army website or even just google it.
tom1yum2goong 6 months ago
@tom1yum2goong Let me make something clear. I don't trust the army...or any other branch for that matter. The higher ups will say whatever they are ordered to say. I want "ABSOLUTE" proof. Absolute proof would be video or in living color. The video I seen released by the army was a few minutes long and no one even said anything about dragon skin. All there was: was a vest being shot at. That's it ! And that's not proof. I'm not stupid. "Go to the army website", what a fucking joke.
jaysgame 6 months ago
@jaysgame Well if that's the case why are you on youtube then? Your not gonna find answer's here. Also if you got a problem with the U.S. military then we got nothing more to discuss.
tom1yum2goong 6 months ago
@jaysgame you'll never get more proof either way or the other, if you're convinced the Army faked tests then their data won't help you, on the other hand Pinnacle is a company that runs on making money and all these youtube videos could have been easily faked during their creation. You might as well just say that neither side is trustworthy and buy the armor yourself cause nothing will make this less convoluted.
akzo74 6 months ago
@akzo74 That's crap I already know. Like the video released by the army. Not only was dragon skin not mentioned but the video was edited in some places. How do I know what they're doing in the vid. On the other hand: If I seen the tests for myself...in person...then I would have no choice but to believe huh !? I'm not trying to say there's some conspiracy theory here. I'm just saying I do not trust the higher ups. And everyone questions people they don't trust.
jaysgame 6 months ago
@jaysgame exactly, so there's no point in complaining about it on youtube, I guarantee nobody here can give you the proof you need so you might as well save up and buy some. I'm not saying you're wrong for not trusting them but I really don't see the point in telling everyone about it.
akzo74 6 months ago
@akzo74 ROFL ! Well...if you don't understand then you don't understand. Nothing I can really do about that.
jaysgame 6 months ago
@jaysgame the point is if you've actually taken the time to do the research yourself then there's nothing left in the public realm anyone can show you since there isn't a whole lot of data to go through on this, just a few videos and about 3-4 documents presented between the Air Force and Army, so based on that you already have your opinion. Would just question why you seem to think this armor works so well based on the good faith of the company that's trying to market it?
akzo74 6 months ago
I heard that Dragon Skin got tested, and it was pretty faulty. Then again, it's expensive as hell, and the testers were the Army...

Why???

@Scorpac Are you joking?
NOTguineapigeon 8 months ago
@Scorpac yes because body armor that stops ak bullets suck?
forgetfulmandude 8 months ago
@forgetfulmandude yes, it sucks. it only stops bullets which come from a 90° angle. everything which comed from an angle more than 45° gets through it because the scalation of those scales are not made to block those rounds. the owner of dragonskin is/was in jail as far as i know
Scorpac 8 months ago
@Scorpac You are right the dragon skin armor is a flat lie. The Army and Air Force tested the armor at separate times and they both failed. Dragon skin could not handle high temperatures or multiple shots at the same disk.
avran89 8 months ago
@avran89 Or, maybe the Army and Airforce lies, because the companies who produce the Body Armors which are in use maybe have good connections to the DoD.
dieterus99 8 months ago
@dieterus99 or maybe the Dragon Skin makers are lying to sell overpriced body armor that is defective.

I WANT NANOSUIT!!!!
not just a piece of crap bodyarmor!!! I want to be able to turn invisible, run fast, jump from high places, full body protection and increased strength
MonsterRespawn 9 months ago
@MonsterRespawn you'll have to wait a really long time, because that's too expensive. Besides, nanotechnology has not yet been made efficiently
Jaws2blood1 8 months ago
@Jaws2blood1 Technically, we could already be using carbon nanotubes to make our skin absorb the impact of bullets, but them tubes have the bad habit of getting inside your cells and ripping your DNA to shreds.
bf2lover42 8 months ago
@bf2lover42 how would having carbon nanotubes in your skin help absorb an impact?
akzo74 8 months ago
@akzo74 basically the nanosecond something hit your skin with enough force (newton's third law) they would make a round bounce off. Carbon nanotubes appear to be useful for everything - their resistance is theorized to be higher than diamond.
bf2lover42 8 months ago
@bf2lover42 but they're not oriented for the shear of an impact and you would almost need more nanotubes there than skin, and that's assuming you could even bond nanotubes to skin, in fact they're probably too small to fit the reinforcement minimization rule so you wouldn't really gain any strength from them.
akzo74 8 months ago
@akzo74 Crysis is based around existing technology that is far from being completely developed and controllable. Gains on super strength, speed and cloak ability are complete fiction because we still have to go trough many barriers.
But clothing and plates made from the stuff could be very durable and flexible, binding it with our skin will have risks we can't even calculate.
bf2lover42 8 months ago
@bf2lover42 there's a difference between having a technology and being able to apply it, I'm willing to bet nobody in the Crysis design team is a materials/biomedical engineer and video games and movies have a really bad habit of looking at things we have and completely misinterpreting our ability to use them.
akzo74 8 months ago
@akzo74 ok, so you read my comment and repeated what I said with other words. Fine.
I only mentioned Crysis because of monsterrespawn's comment. Last week I attended a presentation about nanotechnology and we are close to replicate neurons with nanotubes and that has nothing to do with game development - we are indeed advancing. Game developers research about what they have at their disposal and I can't criticize them for it.
bf2lover42 8 months ago
@bf2lover42 fair enough, my only point is that nanotubes in skin for natural body armor is not a realistic or probably physically possible goal since the amount you'd add to give you strength against impact would make your skin lose all it's elasticity and you wouldn't be able to move.
akzo74 8 months ago
@akzo74 that's the magic, carbon nanotubes are cylindrical and have a great elastic modulus.
Now imagine your regular polo shirt and pants made of that material that could cover 75% of your body from shrapnel. Or very lightweight and thin plates capable of stopping rounds.
But having nanotube fibers in the air wouldn't be healthy, same reason why asbestos were banned.
bf2lover42 8 months ago
@bf2lover42 you just proved my point, they have an excellent elastic modulus making them extremely stiff, so whatever you make out of them is also extremely stiff skin, shirt, whatever.

@LDV8Foax but look again to the inside part(the black fabric). i dont think theres even a hole in there, but its dark. maybe i wasnt looking right
de0509 7 months ago
@edstar83 i think the body armor doesn't cover that part :\
spartan1010101 7 months ago
@edstar83 That area of the body armor is common cloth, and a shot there is not lethal.
PortaleMedia 7 months ago
@edstar83 The extremities are less protected, but still it seems it was not pierced, not forgetting that hole is clearly visible at different moments. I say he didn't do it on purpose, the lower part of the vest is just easier to get a grip on.
kingyoma 6 months ago
@edstar83 but didnt you see the back?? it has no holes. it just happened that his hand was there
SuperKnight263 5 months ago
@SuperKnight263 Dude, just because there is no hole in the back as well doesn't mean there is no hole in the front.
edstar83 5 months ago
@edstar83 I checked five times, there was no hole. And who cares if there's a hole in the front? It's when there's a hole in the back that you should be worried about. There wasn't, so it doesn't matter.
HunterPiazza 5 months ago
@edstar83 the cloth just tore because of the bullet
SuperKnight263 5 months ago
@edstar83 that is only on the outer skin it didn't penetrate u need to watch the video again :)
MrChrisXross 5 months ago
@MrChrisXross I watched it, I also watched him cover the hole 3 times, whether it penetrated through or not, the simple fact is he still tried to cover it up, instead of bring "slight damage" to the outer skin to our attention.
Im not saying this doesn't work, All im saying is the dude failed at trying to cover the cosmetic damage.
Either way, you get shot in the head you're dead. So best thing to do is invest money into Science and Space Exploration and less on murder death and destruction.
edstar83 5 months ago
@edstar83 fair point he doesn't mention it but this piece of armor is remarkable for it to be able to take a grenade and stop the shrapnel from penetrating into the gut it is a great achievement they just need to develop an all over and moveable body suit that work's :)
