  • I think it's against nature to have a goat's horns to be removed. It is part of its natural body.

  • aww white german shepherd!

  • You say "This is shadow" & Shadow wags her tail.

You say "and the baby goat" & Shadow looks at the baby goat.

    That's a smart dog.

  • 2 people are heartless animal haters

  • So gorgeous! Forgive me if I'm naive when asking this - why did the little goat go to have it's horns removed?

  • Comment removed

  • my poodle is bff's with my bunny. Bunny's name is Bun-Bun and her name is Zoe. I think that she takes care of it becouse she wants to be a mommy and cant (got fixed). Sorry about your goat. Love your GSD. I had 2 and they where both the best and no dog will ever replace them in our hearts

  • RIP Little pigmy goat and Shadow bless ur little heart hopefully she doing well over the death and her own health

  • Awwww, lookit that big ol' doggy smile! Now that is the proudest mommy if I ever did see one. She's so happy she's got a baby again. Species be damned! :)

  • @longtail4711 I agree She didn't give an hoot if he wasn't her species. Her mother instincts just kicked in and took over. She was probably really back then, but sad when she found he died.

  • Is she licking the lamb because she wants to eat it or because she wants to care for it?

  • awww how cute is that

  • is that a german shepherd? o.o he's white!! =D so pretty! ^-^

  • dog is still here the little boy goat went into the vet to get horns removed and died:( shadow (dog)is getting older now but still is very well

  • @Royalairdogsrule Oh jeez, what a bummer man. So sorry!

  • @Royalairdogsrule why did it have to have it horns removed? did it die during the surgery, or after? poor momma missing her adoptive baby TT^TT

  • @Royalairdogsrule why would you want to get its horns removed?

  • @jj299792458 Most goats have their horns removed for safety reasons. Also, if you plan to show a goat, the horns must be removed, although there are a handful of goat breeds that keep their horns for show purposes.

  • @memyselfandu so it's like if my bunny died when she went to get spayed? :((( huge sad face

  • @jj299792458 Well, the surgery for spaying a bunny and removing horns from a goat are entirely different procedures, so my guess is that no, it's not like that at all. Especially considering the fact that goats do need their horns removed, but bunnies don't need to be spayed. Well done for making this woman's cute video and unfortunate loss about you though.

  • @memyselfandu you're an idiot. they're analogous. goats don't "need" their horns removed any more than rabbits need to be spayed--for their health and their owners' convenience. well done for getting hostile over an innocent comment, though.

  • @jj299792458 I disagree with your assessment, especially considering you're still unable to simply google the reasons for horn removal in goats. Removing a goat's horns prevents injury and potential fatality to a domestic goat. Obviously, this goat is domestic, and therefore requires horn removal for his safety, and the safety of those around him. Again, if he was to be shown, the horns would have to be removed. This does qualify a need. Spaying a bunny? No. Just buy a separate cage.

  • @memyselfandu I find it funny that you assume I haven't educated myself on the reasons for dehorning goats, and you can't bother to do the same with rabbit spaying, which significantly prolongs the lifespan and prevents health and behavioral problems. And it's all for the rabbit's sake, not for "the safety of those around" her, which I think is a weak reason to do something painful to an animal. If it's not safe to be around in its natural state, why would somebody try to keep it as a house pet?

  • @jj299792458 I'm not arguing that owning a goat is a good idea, simply that disbudding is a procedure that is necessary for domestic goats. The rest is up to the individual. From what I know of disbudding, it usually is performed at a young age, once the goat's horns attempt to develop. I don't know at what age this owner had her goat's horns removed. Disbudding is a fairly common procedure for vets who deal with farm animals, so I have no idea what proved fatal for this poor goat.

  • @memyselfandu disbudding can happen when the goat is only a few days old and is far safer than surgery, which i assume could prove fatal for any number of the usual reasons: blood loss, shock, anasthesia...

  • @memyselfandu not to mention that if the goat had been disbudded as a kid, it wouldn't have required such a dangerous surgery. as long as you're removing a part of an animal's skull, it should be done as early as possible, no?

  • @Royalairdogsrule seems like a simple procedure. vet. must have sucked

  • @Royalairdogsrule True! there shouldn't be any complication is such procedure..The vet really sucked and didn't know the best time to do the surgery. Maybe the goat was too small, or the vet was not very careful. What did the vet say, was the cause of it's death? I would change vets, if I were u...You can't do much of a lawsuit now..poor goat!:(

  • @Royalairdogsrule so sad, why did it die?

  • @Royalairdogsrule wtf why did the goat need to get its horns removed???

  • @Royalairdogsrule i'm sorry your goat died...maybe next time you want the horns removed you should have them burned by a breeder. i've raised goats as well and when you gett them from a breeder they should be willing to do that. goats are really special pets, aren't they? ^_^

  • @Royalairdogsrule -- awww! poor baby pygmy goat! i'm soooo sorry to hear that! :( i'm sad now :(

  • @Royalairdogsrule nooo removing horns from a goat do you know how that is done not under anything but local it is either burned to the nerves or sawed and is very painful it can kill them and or permanently damage parts of there body and boy and girl goat get them

  • this is the best all time. where are they now? can u give us another update of dog and goat only. real fast please

  • so cute
