Actually the statue is quite simple, but the view that you can see from up there is really one of the wonders of the world.

The description says "human-built wonders" so that eliminates the great pyramids from being included. He could have included the little man made pyramids that are next to the Great Pyramids, but those are crumbling and unimpressive.

i believe it doesnt belong in the 7 man made wonders Christ the Redeemer was completed in 1931 but Angkor Wat in Cambodia was built in 1200 AD and the largest man made religous monument in the world and its not even one of the 7 wonders of the world in 900 AD Angkor city had a population of 1,500,000 and London in1801 had a population of 1,117,290 and Angkor City back then was larger then Los Angeles CA today

I dont think the Arena in Rome is a big wonder if you ask me.

My understanding of 'wonders" would have to be something beyond human imagination or not technologically/humanly possible at the time when it was built. Based on that, while most the old 7 wonders are in total ruins, they are wonders because it's hard to imagine how they can exist at that time without the tools we have today. So Egypt's Pyramid should be still in, and Taj Mahal is just like any other majestic building to me. I really don't understand why it's a wonder.

Nice video, although it's a little biased because there's no mention whatsoever about Persian architecture, which has influenced much of today's architecture. No mention of Arg e Bam (largest Adobe structure) or Persepolis (the ancient Persian cultural capital - from around 515 BC). The Romans copied LOTS of their work from Persian art & architecture. Even Taj Mahal, that is featured in this video, was inspired by Persian art/architecture & partly designed by a Persian calligrapher, Amanat Khan.

In my opinion the Parthenon is way more wonderful than the Colloseum.

I am Australian and am disappointed to think people would try and suggest that the Sydney Opera house has a similar value to the likes of Machu Picchu or the Great Wall of China.
