  • The tune is "The World is Waiting for the Sunrise" . . . superb.

  • it sounds like the chord changes to cherokee

  • go try Pete Fountain

  • song is "the world is waiting for the sunrise" and Ken definitely in the top 10 worlds most talented clarinetists ever.

  • A jazz band without clarinets is a terrible thought. They don't know what they're missing :)

  • Anyone know the name of the song?

  • Doesn't anyone know which song this is?

  • I hope* :P

  • And btw i loved the Tiger Rag he played with Frank Vignola. It's pretty awesome. I'm going to play like Ken someday i hope, and maybe some like Benny Goodman. :)

  • i love him! he's really nice and talented. His brother ted is my trumpet teacher :D and he's just as good at trumpet as ken is on clarinet.

  • I met him a couple minutes ago! I got his autograph! He's truely amazing, and I hope to be like him one day! He's also the sweetest man!

  • Gosh. That seems very hard...

    I'm jealous...

  • Fantastic! Congratulations! You remember me Benny Goodmnan´s style...

  • Ken is great, but there are a few others. One of the best ones is Antti Sarpila from Finland (also well-known in the US).

  • My last comment was an answer to TheOverlordDale - in case, you haven't noticed.

  • Ive played clarinet for 3 years and haven't played that good before. That guy has alot of talent!

  • don't be fooled. This is not some average joe clarinet player. He's a professional. Quite famous. And old obviously.

  • actually he's only 48...not that old. great guy, I met him once a couple years ago. he's one of my favorite clarinetists

  • yes I'm aware how old he is. He's got over twenty years on me. The old comment was just in reply to a guy that remarked ,"Ive played clarinet for 3 years and haven't played that good before. That guy has alot of talent!" Ken Peplowski's playing is about a lot more than just talent and has been playing a long time. That was all.

  • Had a most ejoyable time in Brghton, listening to Ken & Marty Grosz.

Ken,if you see this,Louis Stewart sends a very special Hello to you & Marty!

  • You can listen to this man at Jim Snidero´s jazz books.

  • Yes, I must agree with Mambo Jazz. I had the privelege of playing a set with Ken at the Elkhart Jazz Festival. This was with Bill Allred's Classic Jazz Band and he was fantastic. I then stayed for his set that followed ours and his tenor sax playing is also marvelous and does not mimick his clarinet playing. Great musician.

  • haha i actually bought his cd for $15, and i have NO CLUE where it is right now. haha but this was hot.

  • this guy is so awesome

  • I remember this guy...he wasn't here this year :<

  • Omgosh! Thank you so much for posting this, you have no idea how happy it's made me. I went to CYM in 2005 and 2006, and I remember this so well, I loved this performance. I couldn't attend CYM this year because of my brother's wedding which conflicts with the dates,so I've been going crazy, especially since CYM is happening currently.Thank you for posting this!!!

  • Great stuff. Check out Andy Firth sometime.

  • i love how he has this liquid smooth clarinet tone, but also plays like a sax player.

  • I disagree with this comment. Ken Peplowski is one of the few clarinet sax players that doesn't imitate sax at all. He's only playing what clarinet is capable of. Which is beautiful music.

  • He is the best at what he does, for sure. And a nice guy!

  • I don't think I have heard anything like this! I love it. I'm a "classical" clarinetist. I have a long way to go after hearing this. :)
