they're sound changed because john frusciante - who is AMAZING - came back after several years of being addicted to heroin. his arms were to weak to do the same thing so he had to go with the more "mellow" or not as "freakey styley" (hehehe) as he once did. but now he can shred like no other in today's music. rhcp is one of the best bands today because of they're emence talent and because most music today is plain crap.
