Kings don't act like that unless foul hooked, which I'm assuming he was since you are fly fishing, and everyone knows salmon just love to eat flies on their spawning runs
@MrHousey12 salmon don't love to eat anything on there spawning run genius. ive had kings charge 15 feet across river grab a fly with there mouth and immediately commence to jumping as soon as i set the hook.but then again i fish real Chinook out of the salt not great lakes fish.look up sol-duc river king salmon you'll see a 35+ pound king hooked on a float with eggs jumping like crazy. maybe if you fished enough you'd have the occasional crazy jumper to.ya no it all. fish more talk less.
Great fish! As for the lack of sleep, It's like i told a guy i work with. We got out @ 11p.m. and I told him i was picking him up @ 3a.m. granted i had to sleep hook up the boat, and pick him up by 3. I got to his place and he had just woke up, he was falling asleep while we were trolling. To me it's not fishing if you aren't tired.
