  • The video is on Youtube under "Threshold February Steelhead"

  • commissionpoint, i agree with you 100%. I'm a huge advocate of catch and release whether its salmon and steelhead on the Salmon River, or 20+" brookies on dry flies in Quebec, my family and I practice it across the board. On this day in particular we hooked up with just over 50 brookies, and the only ones kept were the ones that unfortunately swallowed the hook. It's hard to tell from the video but this was just after a decent rain storm and they were feeding quite aggressively.

  • @jeblp Hence, the number of trout on the stick in the last few clips. As far as a catch and release video, though, a couple of my buddies and I are in the process of putting together a strictly catch and release salmon and steelhead flyfishing video if that is of any interest to you. I'll attach one quick youtube video from the very beginning of the filming for the video, and the rest you'll have to wait for.

  • Nice day fishing, but I would have liked to see you keep a few less trout. How about doing a catch and release video?

  • If you dont mine me asking, where in the adirondacks are you? I'm from Plattsburgh and fish Onchiota area for Brookies, I would love to give this pond a try. If you could, please give me some directions at me email, Lukedaust@yahoo, good vid guys

  • Without saying too much, from the Croghan - Belfort side. I paddle across the adjacent lake. Only about a 3 mile hike and some paddling. There is nice brookies in there! Gotta go to work now. -Steve

  • Sweet, good job not showing too much of the shorline. The pines is a big tip off. I have slept in that lean- to many times. The cool thing is that it isn't even stocked. That is one of my favorite "ponds"!

  • welp...i'll let you in on the secret. we're using a Lake Clear Wobbler with 18 inches of leader tied to one end of the wabbler and a hook on the other end. then we use half a night crawler with a long tail left hanging. let out about 30-50 yards of line and troll slowly with it. kills 'em everytime!!! GOOD LUCK

  • awesome! what kind of rig are you using? I use either a plain ole jighead w/worm, or sliding sinker in the streams and it works pretty well. Love the Black River NY!

  • Nice trout fishing guys. We do quite a bit at our adirondack camp. Stop by.

  • nice video jamieson!
