@quiltu1 I'm so glad that I could make the Picot edge easier for you! I have tons of videos on my channel and on KNITFreedom (dot) com if you ever run into other issues. :)
Thank you for sharing this video. Very clear and easy to follow. When I chose to knit A Poppy Hat for my granddaughter to be, I had never heard of a Picot edge. I started to read the pattern and could not understand why I had to K2 together, yo. Once watching your video it all started making sense. Once again thank you.
Thank you. I am making a puppy coat and I am a beginner with dangeous needles! I have several books but couldn't make sense of the instructions to knit the picot. With your help it looks great even on the first try!!!! I'll be back!
@MsDreamangel1 Thank you so much for the compliments! As for steaming the completed picot hem edge, it's really a matter of preference. :) The edge already lays really flat, but if you want it even more so, there's no reason you shouldn't steam it!
I've done a pico edge before but the video was still really helpful, Thank you so much for all the videos you make! I honestly don't know what I would do with out you sometimes. It's so generous of you to put all these up for the knitting community. What are the wooden needles you're using in this video?
@dorilae Thank you for being an ardent follower! I do appreciate it :) They are "Lantern Moon" needles and they are amazing! My boss at Stix Yarn used to say knitting with them is like getting a full-body massage. I would agree! They are that smooth and perfectly-weighted.
Thanks to your video I was able to correct a mistake I was not conscious about. After having a hard time trying to understand your rows counting, I finally realized that I have to count my long tail cast on as my first knit row. So after the long tail cast on I have to start with a purl row and not with a knit row as I was usually doing!!! Yeah :)
@elenamarvr I know what you mean! That's exactly right! I'm glad that part was helpful - after I watched it I was like, "Why did I say that?" but now I'm glad I did!
I loved! Your way or teaching you are amazing.

I have been doing Susies Reading Mitts (suzies?) which have a cuff and bind off with pico. This is going to make it that much easier. Thank you

if working in the round is it best to do this on one straight needle first then distribute to work in the round for remainder of sock?
maragosa1 2 months ago
@maragosa1 No, no - you can totally do the picot hem while knitting in the round. No need to start out flat first. Try it!

Your videos are AMAZING as always...clear concise and easy to follow.
One comment...after a picot hem edge is completed for any project isn't it a good idea to steam it just a bit so it will lay flatter?
