I agree she would've had a very good chance to beat Nancy at those championships. Her long program was great and she was well trained. She would've need the 3 axel to beat Nancy I am sure, due to judges' biases at that point. Seeing what she did in practice though I think there's a strong possibility she would've landed it in competition.

Notice in the backround Nancys music was starting to play at the end. She was watching this practice and saw all of the amazing triple axels. Tonya did not see nancy as a threat. If nancy would have skated im pretty much 100% sure she would have messed up. She allways did!

@Dylvente I agree,sigh.I met her coach at Sun Valley in 1992.The lady was so nice.Tonya was like Chris Bowman ( whom I got to meet in LA years ago).He had his demons and didn't train hard enough.He had the drug issues where Tonya made some bad personal choices,the worse one was being influnced by the idiot ex- hubby.I'm glad Tonya has found happiness now with her 3 rd hubby and their baby is due soon.

I don't know why really, but I always loved her, from the first time I started watching figure skating in '92 when I was eight. She was immediately my favorite even though at the time she was not skating her best. I can remember being so sad watching the '92 Worlds where she didn't do very well.
