The only time Thrall wasn't voiced by Metzen was in the cancelled Lord of the Clans game, which got turned into a book. There he was voiced by Clancy Brown, but we heard maybe one or two lines in the single trailer released.

And I still don't knw what you're talking about in the CoT. he sounds the same as always.
