really pretty music where does one get the metal tines though, to make version of your own. I did make one with my kid and it is great but I need more times of diff daimeters and thicknesses. Electricans snake gives you about 8 notes. Bobbie pins do not last.

that is one of the prettiest instruments i have ever heard!!! i am happy to say i learn of a new instrument on this day; and i like the sound of it very very much, as well as the way this song sounds on it: very pretty. nicely done and thank you
Yes it was quite difficult to separate hands on this one. As Joeloula mentioned, I do need to eventually do all the notes on the bottom..should be quite a task :0) but I love a good challenge.
hey, sorry to be mr. negative- your kalimba sounds great and you have the harmony right, but the rhythm is off--it's not syncopated enough. It's a hard rhythm- the right and left hand are pretty much independent of each other.
Bravo, Patti, another triumph! I'm curious. How did you discover the array mbira and were you able to give it a test run before you bought it? how long have you been playing? Do you ever do gigs?
Man, I hope to in the next 4 or 5 months be to the point to where I can set up at a festival or such and perform. I am aiming for Oct. for my first festival. I discovered the array when searching for a kalimba with MORE tines. Fell in love! Ordered it and have been obsessed ever since. Boy I want to MASTER it! I'm absolutely passionate about that. I've had it for 7 months. sometimes I'm 5 hours a day on it!
If you go to kalimbamagic . com,,you can read an interview I had this past month about it. Thank you so much for you positive comments. I am absolutely thrilled that you have come to love this instrument as I have. Takemuchcare!
if you press 2-9 you can remix the song It's Fun!

Oh me, oh my! What a beautiful sound.
I would worry about the number of possible WRONG notes I might hit, with so many tines to choose from.
I'll stick with my trusty five-string Squared Eel banjo, and I thank you for posting and sharing such a nice, such a FUN thing to hear.

@fnkdrmr86: Yeah, because you're striking it to produce the sound.

I like it, but the main part sounded a bit off. Maybe that's just the intsrument though.
