  • if you press 2-9 you can remix the song It's Fun!

  • i love this instrument. where do i get one?!

  • this song is called "Lucy and Linus"

  • this is not cb theme!

  • Oh me, oh my! What a beautiful sound.

I would worry about the number of possible WRONG notes I might hit, with so many tines to choose from.

I'll stick with my trusty five-string Squared Eel banjo, and I thank you for posting and sharing such a nice, such a FUN thing to hear.

  • i dont this ive ever had my mouth drop as low as i have with this :O

  • Nice work block head ;)

  • OH MY GOD THIS INSTRUMENT IS FRICKEN AMAZING!

  • Oh I want one of these. So peaceful sounding

  • really pretty music where does one get the metal tines though, to make version of your own. I did make one with my kid and it is great but I need more times of diff daimeters and thicknesses. Electricans snake gives you about 8 notes. Bobbie pins do not last.

    thanks

    swaz

  • @Swazooli Not sure really. I didn't make this. Best of luck .

  • @Swazooli Kalimba Magic sells tine material, as well as all sorts of musical marvelousness.

  • is that considered a percussion instrument?

  • @fnkdrmr86: Yeah, because you're striking it to produce the sound.

  • I like it, but the main part sounded a bit off. Maybe that's just the intsrument though.

  • Just so you know, it's not called the "Charlie Brown Theme".... It's called "Linus and Lucy" :-) Great playing... thanks for uploading.

  • Love it!!

  • It's so different to hear this song on this instrument. There's a whole new feeling to the song, and I love it! Great work!

  • Peanuts! by Charlie Minges! cool! 8)

  • Wow.

Where can I get this instrument.

I'm a pianist myself, but I'd really like to broaden my isntrumentation.

  • its a damn auto harp

  • not even close. you fail hard.

  • Hey asshole...post a clip of yourself doing this in a non-"fail" way before you criticise someone.

  • No... It just isn't.

  • thats freaking amazingggg .

  • wow this is awesome sounds soooo beautiful! peaceful

  • that is one of the prettiest instruments i have ever heard!!! i am happy to say i learn of a new instrument on this day; and i like the sound of it very very much, as well as the way this song sounds on it: very pretty. nicely done and thank you

  • AWESOME! Where can I get an mbira like this?

  • sounds amazing

i was hoping you were going to do the bass line but it was still amazing even without it :)

  • very cool. nicely done.

the song is actually called "Linus and Lucy"

  • Dude... from a fellow musician. Well done. Very clean execution. Kudos.

  • Man that's talent! Nice job.

  • i can play it on my cell phone :D

  • That's incredible

  • that must have took patience to learn, very cool!!!

  • beautiful, thats music 5*****!

  • thats an awesome instrument!

  • thats a beautiful sound...

  • what the hell is that thing?

  • Array Mbira

  • where it come from...

  • @martythamoose

    Array Mbira

  • That sounds great!! Is it difficult to not synchronize your hands?

  • Yes it was quite difficult to separate hands on this one. As Joeloula mentioned, I do need to eventually do all the notes on the bottom..should be quite a task :0) but I love a good challenge.

  • hey, sorry to be mr. negative- your kalimba sounds great and you have the harmony right, but the rhythm is off--it's not syncopated enough. It's a hard rhythm- the right and left hand are pretty much independent of each other.

  • thank you for your feedback....

Someday soon I might be able to get all bass notes worked up...I will definately keep it in mind.

    Patti

  • sounds pretty good to me............

  • that's really cool! you have such talent....

but i have a question... doesn't that hurt your fingers? my grandpa used to have one and it hurt mine... but maybe i was playing it wrong lol

  • Took a little while to get my fingers used to it,,,but much like a guitarist,,,it works itself out. Thanks for stopping by :0)

    Patti

  • that's a wild instrument

  • I just love watching your videos! The array mbira lends such a whimsical quality to everthing you play!

  • thanks peacekitten :0)

  • i am sorry if you are getting tired of my comments, but i just love the way ya play. Well, anyways, good job!! I love this one! :)

  • Of course I'm not tired of your comments. Glad you are enjoying :0)

    Have a great Thanksgiving!

  • impressive! and well played. May I have a request too? Reflection, from Mulan?

  • Thank you Twilightprincess,

I will put Reflection on my list too :0)

Thanks for taking time to listen. I really appreciate.

  • Thank you and I enjoy listening to your songs.

  • Bravo, Patti, another triumph! I'm curious. How did you discover the array mbira and were you able to give it a test run before you bought it? how long have you been playing? Do you ever do gigs?

  • Man, I hope to in the next 4 or 5 months be to the point to where I can set up at a festival or such and perform. I am aiming for Oct. for my first festival. I discovered the array when searching for a kalimba with MORE tines. Fell in love! Ordered it and have been obsessed ever since. Boy I want to MASTER it! I'm absolutely passionate about that. I've had it for 7 months. sometimes I'm 5 hours a day on it!

  • If you go to kalimbamagic . com,,you can read an interview I had this past month about it. Thank you so much for you positive comments. I am absolutely thrilled that you have come to love this instrument as I have. Takemuchcare!

  • So beautiful <3 You played it perfectly :D

May I have a request? Part of Your World, from Little Mermaid?

  • Oh that would be so lovely on the mbira! I will definately give it a shot!
