  • I saw them play 4 years ago. Now, it's just Simeon with his oscillator/synth and a drum machine. It was great, and I was surprised at how young the crowd was.

  • this was the last song of their concert in sao paulo, brazil in 17th of february of 2012. almost 50 years later, this song is perfect. one of the best concerts i ever been to.

  • Wow this is a head of its time sounds like its from the 2000s

  • I love this group. I hear a group worse than ..... perfect. This must have been a seed band for those to follow. Pere Ubu had to have been aware of this Silver Apples stellar performance.

  • great band/song to listen to while trippin... :D

  • This is good pop music. I could listen to the this atleast once a day. I would also say this is not hippie music.

  • is that a mark ryden painting at 0:50 ?

  • I love this song, Hippies were so good at making music!

  • It's amazing! It's like they've gone forward in time, recorded the sound of a modem and gone back to 1969 to create this masterpiece! It blows my mind every time I hear this! :-D

  • @Sazzied2 But it's totally '69. Music just hasn't progressed much since then. There was a renaissance, but it's over. Any contemporary music is post-modern.

  • Why do you nerds care if it's hippie music or not?

  • This is not "hippie" at all!!!

You do NOT know anything about music if you say things like that...

    Read some staff please..

    Reaaallllyy...

    "Dive into yesterday"

  • I love the hippie-era music.

  • @georgelee43211 you are a square if you think "weird" music is hippie music or druggie music, why can't music just be music, no matter who makes it

  • @KingKongMagnetics I smoke on the regular. This is weird and hippie music. Doesn't make it bad, it's just what it is.

  • @l33tmaster104

Technically, it isn't hippie music. The Silver Apples were New York hipster freaks, like Andy Warhol and the Velvet Underground. Hippie music is more like the Grateful Dead.

  • @yonskii I took so much acid while listening to the Grateful Dead. Toked all of the nugs.

  • @yonskii And Simeon is from New Orleans-my hometown...

  • Thanks for bringing your dickhead friends to the party Moby

  • great tune great band the sound unique and playful just beautiful

  • where can you find images like this? like is there a site that has a good collection of just awesome pictures? google and bing give me to wide of a variety

  • And Moby, you can get stomped by Obie,

You 36 year old bald headed fag blow me

You don't know me, you're too old

Let go, it's over, nobody listens to techno

  • @masterdelrap You know shit.

  • My ears are friggin ringing!

Did a key get stuck on your synthesizer?

  • Moby sent me here.

  • yes, from 1969. believe it or not. SIMEON is to time machines what Apple is to computers

  • fuck ! i didn't jnew this group!!! i'm quite impressed!!!! they sounds bloody lodern for being a 60's band!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Lyrics written by Eileen Lewellen, the then girlfriend of Simeon...

  • I have known love and love has won.I burned my fingers on the sun. I've been imprisoned on the moon. I have learned what truth denies. I drank the teardrops from her eyes. I surrendered much too soon. I never heard the warning voice. I never knew I had a choice. Though I never wanted to return. But I have sailed upon the boat That flew when there was room to float. And I drank out of the magic urn.

  • And I have slept inside the shade encircled by the love we made. And I have kissed the face of dreams. And I have ridden on the glow that warms the sky with a rainbow. And I have waded in its golden streams. And I have danced between the stars with music sung by sweet guitars. I've done some things that can't be done. And I have smiled inside the storm reaching higher to keep warm. I've known love and love has won. I burned my fingers on the sun

  • I do believe I've found my new favorite artist for the time being. Simply amazing orgasmic gooey goodness to my ears.

  • I've heard allot of music, and played in a couple of bands,

Thjis is really Good, Thank You

  • one of the best songs I´ve ever heard.

  • if the silver apples were suddenly better known thousands of pale imitators would have to step forward and aplogize

  • Why am I only hearing about these guys now????? Read about them in a Portishead interview, you can definitely hear the influence(especially in "third").

  • perfection

  • Thank you @diplo for introducing me to this wonderful song.

  • @Willsilk2 Ditto. I'm in love.

  • @Willsilk2

Did he sample it or something? If so, where?

  • @mobile513 It's in chasing the dragon mix he did on the mad decent podcast. Brilliant Mix

  • So beautiful

  • This is 2000's music from 1969.

:-O What other good reason to go back?

  • @sinning1966 It's 60's music in the 2000's.. haha. Music has not progressed in 40 years.

  • @raceyboy

Music's progressed quite a bit actually.

  • @raceyboy

This band was just very, very ahead of its time.

  • divine. on repeat.

  • thank you. thank you. thank you.

  • silver apples do it!!! xxx

  • Stop. Hippie time.

  • This is my fauvorite song

  • This is on some LSD shit. lol

  • awesome. can't beleive it wasn't top 40.

  • Can someone share the pic used in 0:53 , please? Also: awesome song, I love it.

  • awesome song

  • Always nice to be the first to comment. This band is so ahead of its time it hurts. Mixing electronics, beats with more traditional psychedelic rock - reminds me a lot of The Chemical Brothers, Beck, Stone Roses, etc.

  • @keith904A only better :)
