  • THe TD-9 sounds AWESOME

  • Awsome playing dude... big ups from NZ!!

  • That's the greatest drum cover of this song i've seen!

  • Very good Bro. As usual you are the man. I remember we use to play Journey tunes with your sis. Loved it... Miss ya dude.

  • exelente.....!!!!

    it's very great.....!!!

  • this is great!!

i like your drum kit too

  • Outstanding!

You really made the most of the Roland TD-9. Great technique.

  • Wicked Drum cover , will really help thanks loads (: x

  • what kind of kit do you use

  • awesome kit!

  • How do you get so many pads running off that brain?????

  • One fact that makes it harder to execute this song though is playing the ride bell with the shoulder of the stick on a real kit. Aiming the right hand and getting a clear bell hit with the shoulder of the stick between tom hits would make it harder. Since your kit isn't a Roland you can't progam sounds to the bell i bet. Nice independance & groove though.

  • Nice flawless left hand technique. I used to own one of those old Steve Smith drum vidios from the late 80's (before he shaved his head) I remember him explaining how he played the tune left handed and demonstrated it like you did.

  • were do you gey the money to buy a drum set like the, nice video btw

  • it really helps me see my mistakes during playing with this video.

  • this is amazing :D

  • i really enjoy your cover of this song sir..god bless you my friend..im Onell from Philippines

  • * hit them

  • I thought the drum cover was great buy I think you just need to get more into it... Actually them drums of yours :P

  • so thats how u play it

  • @DrGuitarHero555123 .......... This is the "LIVE" version. So it is played a bit diff. than the studio version. Steve puts in a few extra notes in the Live version but, still the same pattern.... Thx 4 watch'n...........

  • @bugernet i like better live version for cover.

  • rip dj am

  • im new to the electric drums thing but used to play lots during highschool..now my kid is interested in drumming,i plan to get a 2nd roland td7,just want to ask, would u know if i can change the pads? lets say for the ride,,i want to change it to triple triggering? is it possible? thanks,,i want him to learn his own technique,i want to get him an acoustic yamaha set but the wife is sure to fuzz over it with the noise it will bring,,thanks

  • Brilliant open-handed playing! How long did it take you to become proficient in it to play this tune?

  • That was BRILLIANT!

  • Nice Job!

  • woh man your great!!!! the guy who disliked you is probably on drugs. do you have an acoustic set by any chance? if you do make a cover of this song with your acoustic (IT WILL SOUND GREAT) keep rockin man!

  • so so so so good! ^^

  • This video is my new text.

    thank you very much !

    Wao!!

    from Joe

  • nice job but loosein up dont play so stiff

  • i have an accustic set and not as many toms or cymbals so i play tis song a bit different

  • Great Job! You don't happen to have this written down anywhere by chance do you? I'm attempting to tab it but it's not going so well.

  • I just turned 13. watch my cover to this song. tell me what you think. remember to subscribe!

  • Great job.

  • is this the v tour kit

  • NICE

  • brilliant..

  • @quadmania3 Thank u ! I very much appreciate u commenting! Thx for ur kind words!!!

  • @bugernet kind WORD!

  • i cannot drum like that i drum crossed

  • @Benjamminable I'm also right handed! this tune is played with the left hand on the hi-hat. That's how Steve wrote & plays this tune.Other than that Steve is a right handed drummer as well.

  • What drum set is that

  • @drum394 Im using a TD-9k Roland set.

  • Hey Bugernet, I have that same kit, but would love to know how you hitched up all the additional cymbals, toms etc. The kit only comes with a few additional excessory plugs.... did you use splitters or what? Cheers thanks for any help you can give ;) Keep on rockin! GREAT job

  • @Colnando Sorry for the late reply! I use two modules,That's why you see extra triggers. You can use splitters just make sure they are (Stereo),Mono will not work! Also Roland has a (TMC-6). it's a unit that's converts midi from ur module and turns them into (6) extra trigger inputs. Hope this was of some help! Thx for ur comment much appreciated!!!

  • awesome cover mate. Watched a few others play this, and you kick all their asses. Not only is it a perfect cover, it sounds awesome. some people when they play have an awful sounding electric kit. Your sounds perfect.

  • that sounds so good, and done so well, question? do u think you could play as well on a set of say? DW's?or Yamaha studio pros

  • Thx. i took time to play this as best as i could. the first time i recorded this i just played it cold and it was not very good! I do play a set of Yamaha drums at church, so im not just locked into e-drums..... Thx again for watch'n!!!

  • It is always nice to watch you play. Love the new kit but I liked the bell tone on the other kit. These videos are a great learning tool and I look forward to seeing more, Keep it up..Cheers.

  • Thx!!!! appreciate ur watch'n and comments. I almost pitched this bell up but i left it. Thx again...........

  • really great job man :)

  • Another masterpiece JJ! I like how you played your hats with your left hand. Definetly is more practical to play instead of crosshand all the time. Very consistent hihat control, not sure if i can do that being a right handed drummer, know you inspired me to try this new challenge. Going on the kit know to practice:)

    Christmas cheers my friend. John

  • Thx!!! not sure if there is anything u can't do in music! ur a very inspiring and creative player. Seasons greetings ur bud JJ...........
