OMG your tone is ungodly. what are your settings on the head and the maximizer? im about to buy that head and i already a maximizer. and is that the line 6 cab with the vintage 30's???
@MetalXGod666 I have the Line 6 modeling cab with custom celestion speakers. They dumped in and just started offering the spider valve cab for everything. I am using the cab modeling setting for the brit v30's though, so it would probably sound the same.
As far as the settings, I forget. I think the first knob is slightly below half, and the second knob is slightly after. I also have dual 15 band EQ in my rack and a BBE OD pedal in front of the amp.
I got an ibanez universe, it's a fantastic looking piece of machinery! It sounds great too, I use it for shredding and tapping and it's my main instrument on my new album. If you get a sec please check out a tune called "New Rise Of The Footsoldier" for my 5 finger tapped riff and "Invincible" for some serious shredding sweep picking and Chris Broderick style tapping. Thanks for the video, keep coming, Chris!
Yeah, I definitely think its worth it. Right now if you wanted the best modeler you probably would be better off with the Axe FX and power amp of your choice. You will probably spend more than an HD147 set up though. The 147 is still a great amp and I love it as much or more today as I did 4 years ago when I got it.
@LinkinPk1fan The Vetta is essentially the HD147 + a ton more. Two things I wish I had from the Vetta are 2 amps at once and the OD stomp modeling so I wouldn't have to use a physical one. The big difference with the 147 is it has an defauly EQ voicing geared towards metal. YOu have to turn this on with the Vetta as its not the default.
The Spider Valve mk II and the Pod Pros are awesome. The Axe-Fx is for sure the best...but its like $1400 and its just a pre-amp.
@DarkKnight369 hey dude, my new account here...yeah man, it's just everything I'd ever need....without the problem of a 45-60 pound head and 100+ pound cabinet
@eliasisnemesis This is dropped tuned in A, as in you hold the lowest three strings on the same fret to get a power chord. To get that sound, I hold the E and A (6th and 5th) strings on the first fret while leaving the 7th dropped A string open. And of course I am palm muting while doing that.
@eliasisnemesis You don't need a 7 string. You can tune any 6 string to drop A and pull off the exact same sound. You can also pull the same effect off with any dropped or standand tuning. On dropped tunings you leave the 6th open and hold the first fret of the 4th and 5th strings. In standard tuning configurations you would leave the 6th string open and hold the 4th and 5th strings on the third fret.
@DarkKnight369 close but the chord your trying to produce (the chord that bands actually use) is a tri tone 1st fret on the low A open E and fist fret on the normal A sounds way more brutal. try it out.
@eliasisnemesis You mean the breakdowns? yea he pretty much explained it haha. If your into that, check out "This is Exile" by WhiteChapel, I know they use them alot in that song
It just takes time getting use to one extra string. If you keep it standard tuned then all you have to do when playing scales is repeat what you do on the high b string when playing on the low b.
Have have 3 things outside the amp effecting tone...
In the loop:
BBE 482i Sonic Maximizer
DOD Dual 15 Band EQ
In front of the Amp:
BBE Green Screamer OD
The OD pedal will tighten up the low end and help give that tone. The BBE just sort of makes everything sound more clear, and the EQ is to boost the mids that the BBE can scoop.
Why would you use a distortion pedal with an amp that has good distortion? Doesn't make sense. I would maybe try an OD in front of the amp first to tighten up the distortion.
THANK YOU GOD! finally someone does a good cover of a guitar AND does a cover playing emmure kind of style! i wish when ppl reviewed the sound of a guitar that they would play heavy like this, thank you
THE ONE AT 3:23 is AMAZING :P i love that one im looking to get a C-7 hellraiser 7 string here once i get the cash to get i want a 7 - string soooooooooooo badd i dig your playin :)
you got some awesome riffs there man, sounds ballistic!, does that schecter have blackouts on it? sounds pretty gutsy, cool man, makes me wanna go play my 7 string.
I have videos directly comparing them, but its hard to tell. I would described the blackouts as being more organic feeling and they have a meaner sound. The 707s seemed to be like highs and lows where the blackouts see to have some extra focus in the lower midrange.
oh ok, i think ill stick with the 707s than, i dont like a lot of mids in my eq and i always have the bass and treble way up. so you think the 707s would be better for that
id think of it as if the pickup has more mids and you still scoop em out, itd still be a scooped but fuller tone.. idk though ive never played blackouts
Yes, there are fret markers on the top binding. I can not recall ever seeing a guitar without them. The lack of inlays threw me off at first, only because their is so much neck that the fret markers weren't in my primary vision. I got used to it though. Standing up its never a problem for me since I only see the fret markers.
I think I prefer the ATX. Stock, I preferred the ATX without a doubt. Once I put blackouts in the Loomis though, that guitar was a very close second for me.
What does it matter what kind of guitar player he is, as long as he has the skill. piss off dude, another youtube critic who thinks he is the best guitar player in the world, and is quick to judge everyone.
Dark knight, you can get downright brutal on those nasty ass schecters, so if they dont like you, tell em to kiss your ass!!!
