Status IV you ain't really down..the song which Farley's "you ain't really house' was based on. Like the Colonel's music too...check out "music is the answer" ..prototype record that in my opinion most directly influenced chicago to become what they are.
I love the original version but i have been looking for this version of 'you ain't really down' for centuries!!!! i remember trapped. growing up on the southside of chitown this takes me back to the house parties my family would always have. remember the warehouse??? OMG!!
bruceleory, well tell us what he is saying to you!!!!!!! I love the Colonel, I even performed as Him during an audition for some lip sync show, I wish they had given me my demo performance of the audition. it was back in the 80s because all the girls were trying to be JANET back then in the audition.
man they used to put it down like this on wnur 89.3 and 102.7fm wbmx back in the day. what the hell is the name of that beat cause i know it's the acapellas of trapped and you ain't really down over it.
OLD SCHOOL DJ's PLEASE TELL ME THE NAME OF THE BEAT ON THE LP LABEL!!
I am not sure but that beat was everywhere back then.... all the parties had that beat going. it was MAJOR back then!!!! It made people get up and shake that A..&@#%^!
is there still a market for this type music now days? I would love to make new music like this classic stuff but I want to know will people buy it and will the DJs mix it OR has everyone come from underground and gone mainstream, which I hate........... this was a sort of secret music society where you could really feel a connection with the independant artists and all that mainstream had its own place. but now seems everything had gone mainstream, but I would like to bring it back.
honey there is always a market for this in chicago!!! We still listen to this FAITHFULLY! and it is still played in clubs every weekend!! I live in wisconsin and am from chicago on youtube searchin for house!
I went to school in Chicago and loved the music there. I wish we could get a HOUSE convention or House party celebration planned!!!!!! I LOVE HOUSE, IMPORTS, MIXES, REMIXES, hell I love every damn thing!!!!!!!!
There are always house concerts and parties. Check out Mike Dunn and There are more comin up if you are here in chicago. V103 radio is the house music station!!
I wish i could pick that stuff up on internet or something all the way downstate as i am not up near Chicago but over 6 hours away. do they invite all the classic artists of the House era to come and perform at these parties and concerts? but i thought all these youth of today love that new stuff and hate the old stuff but i love House!!!
I remember both of these cuts from back in the day...WGCI in Chicago use to play house music and me and my cuzn's use to jus zone out and listen to house music all nite long.
Awe man, Iv'e been looking for that break beat forever. Can someone tell me the name of the track mixed in.
