  • i looked at the goty videos on GT and saw that mw3 was nominated like 5 different awards and won like 2. i have never taken a crap from laughing so hard. later that night, i cried myself to sleep.

  • Everything you said was so true. I agreed on everything you said, and I have said it myself too.

  • Glitches do not only affect Skyrim. It affects many open-world games, and is not exclusive to this one game. I'm not being a fanboy here, as I think game of the year for 2011 should have went to either Portal 2 or Dark Souls (a FAR more superior game than most). But I have played Skyrim for ages upon ages, and only had the glitches happen 3 or 4 times, and most of the time it was my system overworking itself (have an older 80G PS3 model). The good far outweighs the bad for this game.

  • Fraser And His Words Of Wisdom

  • You've introduced me to lots of games. Minecraft, TF2, Portal 2(TBD), Red Dead Redemption, etc etc etc. Since I'm not exactly a huge gamer, I likely wouldnt have gotten into these games It has definitely been much appreciated.

  • Fraiser, maybe if you stopped playing the PS3 12 hours straight, you will not have freezing. I've only had skyrim freeze on me twice, but it was in loading screens in early January. It's Bethseda, Skyrim's going to have problems.

  • Skyrim is Game of the history.

  • Also, 7:40 ironically, at E3 they said that they were designing Skyrim specifically with console players in mind. Evidently the PS3 is not a console :P

  • Fraser, you have valid points, but I think the reason that everyone is complaining and defending is because sometimes you're a jerk about it. I don't know, this is just my theory. It's like Dead Island and Duke Nukem. They were both about the same in quality, but Duke Nukem you went into with high expectations and when you declared it bad, everyone agreed with you. Dead Island you went into expecting to hate it, which made people think that you were coloring your perception with that hatred.

  • I beat Portal 2... didn't like it ... still don't give a shit

  • Keep in mind Fraser that you have the PS3 version. Still not better than Portal 2 or Batman though.

  • People are pissed at you for playing it on the PS3 when the PC version is superior.

But the same argument could be made for Portal 2. And Portal 2 doesn't glitch itself into limbo or erase your save files on its inferior PS3 version.

And anyone who says Portal 2 has no replay value is a fool. The secret Rat Man dens, jumping into a pit at Wheatley's request, breaking Wheatley's monitors, foreshadowing, metaphors: these are not things Valve intended you to find on your FIRST playthough.

  • the only problem i had with skyrim was framerate issues after 30+ hours but then the patch fixed it. other than that in my 100+ hours gameplay it froze like 3-5 times but it didnt cause me any trouble beacause of the great autosaving.

o yea i have it on the ps3

  • So you don't think your PS3 has anything to do with it? I've seen several episodes where the PS3 game you are playing is freezing up.. If I remember correctly there was Batman and some other game aswell.

But Skyrim has alot of glitches... Saint's Row 3 had glitches but they were funny and didn't break the game.

  • Games have ALWAYS had glitches, programming is about removing and minimizing them when found. Expecting a glitch free game that takes hundreds of hours to play everything once is unrealistic.

  • You forgot SPACE!

  • this is why i play games on pc this shit would never happen on pc but it ocassionaly blips or glitch but not a flatout crash

  • I get scared now when i see "Loading Trophies". thanks @farfromsubtle

  • It's so annoying watching everyone in the chat get mad at Fraser for pointing out the faults of Skyrim...big deal! Sure it's a great game to most people but geez, let other people have an opinion

  • Oh god, another glitch in the PS3 copy...what else is new? You know, you guys have some sort of fucked up gift. I haven't experienced a single glitch in the game (except one involving the blacksmith in Riverwood where I couldn't access his store at all but that happened once in my 20-some hours of gameplay)

  • That Fraser did not know some of the controls or things about it e.g how to shout and the fact he didn't know he hadn't unlocked shouts

  • @i0inky 1. The reason I used shit instead of a less harsh sentence was because of yt character restrictions and I added IMO because i know from comments in the chat/comments from the crew/from the fact that their old merch sells well/sold well that people found it enjoyable and while I know IMO can come off as a bit dickish that was not my intention I just didn't want to represent everyone in my comment 2. And i am now aware that they did another skyrim show I am still perplexed by the fact

  • I liked portal 2 but I think skyrim crushes it. Its way bigger and deeper than portal 2. Portal 2 was a great 8 hour campaign but skyrim has easily 100 hours of content and its all worthwile and fun. I just think skyrim stands out more

  • I think glitches can be forgiven in games that are as expansive and large as Skyrim, of course not to the extent of the Ps3 glitches. However, I think that glitches in linear games are unforgivable. My experience playing Uncharted 3 got ruined by glitches, which is unforgivable when it's so linear.

  • while i respect ur opinion fraser, i wouldnt say portal 2 should be goty. in my honest opinion, id say batman. but everyones entitled to their opinion

  • Skyward sword's glitch is ridiculous. Although it is more forgiveable than the skyrim glitches, Which they COULD patch, but are being really slow and some patches are causing bugs. Nintendo can't patch the glitch but it is easily avoidable.

  • @i0inky as much as i am behind fraser on the subject of gaming glitches, the wii had been left to idle for a good hour on that episode. it was likely that it had overheated at the time.

  • @apusama i meant the game breaking glitch

  • @i0inky ? i thought that was what you were talking about.

the one in the mining facility?

  • @farfromsubtle probobly spamming your email by now but I have a theory for my previous question of why you were stunned/created a new character even though you bought skyrim day one is it because its not your game its someone elses and you have no interest in it what so ever which you hinted at in part one so you just havent played it if so why did whoever it is not return it after the ps3 problems had been revealed (Theory: they had a character who had gotten too far or did not enjoy skyrim)

  • @darkslayer19 What do you mean, Stunned/created new character.

I think you might not be aware that they did another live show with the whole gang before this and they had just gotten it. Maybe that is the reason you didn't notice the previous 3 crashes.

One last thing, If you thought Video Games Awesome was not very entertaining. Don't say it was "shit" then add IMO as if it completely counters the blatant rudeness. Don't being a dick on tiredness, just try to be courteous on the internet.

  • @farfromsubtle Also while im sure you hate me by now I was just wondering why you didnt use the blisteredthumbs video playlist and used youtube I mean I assume it was because YT was faster/easier or the BT playlist option (im not sure if its BT or an outside player) doesnt allow this many parts but yeah just curious

  • @farfromsubtle Sorry extra post another point you raised is that you had 4 crashes while I only mentioned one this is because with such a long video (playlist) I had forgotten a lot of what had happened (whether it be from too much new content and not enough repetition or my lack of sleep) again sorry for my outlash

  • (DAMM YT LIMIT) find your handling of the situation rather childish

  • ldish and since you know nothing about me I hardly think you have a basis to call me a socially-impaired person hell you dont even have the grounds to call me intelligent so calling me a nerd is just an insult without any basis which is actually akin to internet trolls. sorry getting a bit angry time to take a chill pill I think and sorry for the lack of punctuation thats due to the yt character limit so adding punctuation would just make my posts longer. TLDR: I am sorry for what I said but

  • points also while I admit that I was out of line I take offense to the fact that you just label me as some internet troll I had a problem with your video and voiced my opinion (rather wrongly It would of been less ragey at a time when I wasnt tired as hell) so how does that make me a troll also calling me a nerd has nothing to do with what I said and quite frankly I would not expect you to use a derogatory insult Calling someone a nerd is more of a schoolyard bully thing and I find it rather chi

  • @farfromsubtle and every one else I would like to apologise for my rage it was like 7am and I had been up all night and was very tired and Fraser I have watched a lot of episodes of your show after seeing it on tgwtg I hated it as that was like 2 years ago when you did the IMO shit sketch like show with Ben and Kyle but started watching it again after you changed to the new format but question if you bought it day one then why did you create a character and appear stunned/intrigued at various

  • You say Bethesda weird, like your saying Beth-is-da.

  • HELLS YEAH PORTAL 2!!! Seriously, dudes. Skyrim isn't even 2nd. Batman is.

  • I've played a lot of New Vegas and even i cannot defend the times it has crashed and glitched on me. I rage, i look to the wikis for a way around them and move on. While i'm not appologetic i have come to expect such short coming from Bethesda for one reason: they put way too much into their games. You keep saying Portal 2 is a better game because it does not have the short comings of Skyrim. But Portal 2 has less in it then Skyrim going for it, now that is not a bad thing sometimes less is more

  • however look at how much is in Skyrim and other Bethesda games, they try to do a lot to make it an expansive experiences that is diverse. the downside of this is Glitches and Crashes are inevitable because games have always had glitches and the more you try to put into a game the more room for glitches to occur. Games as complex as Skyrim are still in their infancy, not even a decade old and it will still be some time before Glitches in these games become a thing of the past.

  • I'm in no way defending Glitches from Bethesda Games however games today are much more complex then the old days of NES and SNES, room for error is increased. And on top of that the deadlines from publishers and demands from fans give weight to less time to check the coding for flaws. No one wants another Duke Nukem forever and not every glitch can be ironed out buy just 20 people. From a marketing standpoint, using the audience as testers and releasing patches is cost effective

  • a scummy practice but effective none the less. As a PC gamer, i have little opponent on the consoles other then to say that error is even more likely on multiple platforms. Still peeved that Red Dead Redemption will never get a PC release but perhaps on a coding standpoint, it's for the best (it was a console game first).

Anyway i have enjoyed your LP so far and wish you all another Merry Skymass.

  • :) Finally, I finished this all lol.

  • Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines. A game that was rushed by devs many years ago and as a result was full of bugs and glitches while being much smaller in scope than Skyrim. Despite it, however, it was an excellent RPG with amazing story and characters. Now, years after the company that made it is no more, it is still receiving unofficial patches made by the fans. In it's polished state it is truly an amazing experience.

  • @GeneralProfessor - Example of a game that had a lot of technical problems but stood the test of time and is still remembered as a superb game despite them.

And while Skyrim won't be remembered as a great innovator as much as Morrowind, Portal 2 won't either because it, like Skyrim is riding on fame of it's previous version, first Portal from The Orange Box.

  • @GeneralProfessor

Uh well...Troika the developers of Vampire, unlike Bethesda, got totally screwed over by Valve and Activision, went bankrupt, laid off most of their staff and despite all this, people stayed to make a patch to fix as many bugs as they could

They had everything against them and then some, but they still made a great game, Bethesda's got no one putting sticks into their bike wheel's and sure, Skyrim is a great game, but shouldn't it have been amazing instead?

  • YES! I have finally watched all of the Skyrim Episodes in one go! I deserve a medal.

  • IDK. Minecraft, Skyrim, Portal 2, and Arkham City are all fantastic games. Why must we pick favorites then argue over it? Can't we like both?

  • You are so thick I have seriously lost a lot of respect for you Skyrim is a great game it crashed once ohh it must be returned because one crash in a massive game full of NPCs and areas not to mention the infinite ammount of quests is an unforgivable act

  • @darkslayer19 It's just his opinion, relax.

  • @darkslayer19 nerdrage much?

  • @darkslayer19 Don't overreact. You're definitely right, but remember. Fraser doesn't even respect the game's story or characters.

  • @darkslayer19

    Watch the show much?

    1. We bought Skyrim on day one.

    2. This is the FOURTH crash I have had on the show.

    Enjoy your rage, nerd!

  • @farfromsubtle Fraser, i think you are looking at skyrim the wrong way. To me it seems like your'e looking at it as if it was a Bioware RPG. While they are built upon good story and interesting characters, Bethesda RPG's are more about giving you an expansive world to explore. I don't think you have that much time to make complex characters when you are making an open-world RPG. You'll probably need as much time as you can get to make the world. Big worlds can house many bugs btw.

  • @darkslayer19 there shouldnt be problems in the first place

  • @darkslayer19 they bought it on the first day and had no idea what could happen.and besides - if a game crashes, has glitches it can't be a game of the year NOR it is perfect.but i have to admit, the game is good, but those glitches, crashes can sometimes be so huge its just unforgivable.

  • portal 2? come on man really? portal 2 is nothing imo
