Physical cash is in high demand by the banks and the supply as you can see by FDIC funds is drying up so when you see high demand for something in which it's supply is drying up, you should hold that thing because it will increase in value. But just in case the world decides to abandon and shun the US, hoard some physical silver too. Heck if legal tender becomes more valuable then 90% silver coins will follow as it can be considered legal tender too. I don't know, whatever happens will happen.

FDIC will go completely bankrupt. Issues with physical cash withdrawals. Legal Tender Law problems. Possibly a rule by the banks saying that for every physical dollar you withdraw, your account will be debited $2 and for every physical dollar you deposit your account will be credited $2. So all the physical cash that is out there will be going to banks and very little will be leaving. A sort of event like the gold $20 coin getting you $35 in bank notes during the dollar revaluation in 1933.

Just back from a week offline. Hey, here in France, they ditched their version of "cap and trade" (I guess) saying it is inequitable, because 93 per cent. of the biggest polluters wouldn't even be covered by it. Last "metal over wood tiger" year like what is coming up in 2010 was 1950. I predict a false bull market. Very worried about France's debt and Sarko using people like Johnny Hallyday (sp?) as a near-govt spokesperson (he is domiciled in USA, BTW).

I expect an initial drop in gold/silver prices in 2010 because of the massive credit crunch we will again experience as the 2nd wave of real estate credit card defaults occur in 2010 which will collapse the financial industry. I would expect more like the 900-1000. But no doubt gold/silver will be high in the future when government bails out financial institutions promising $12.8 T but I expect an initial drop in gold/silver and the rally starting in 2011 in response to printing in 2010.
