It makes sence to me. I've seen a few still photographs matching this, and the Arena theme fits in too. It explains why they had to cut out one of the best battle themes in the franchise (IMO). I just hope they finish it up for the 3D version.

Even if it weren't final, I doubt the production would put random battle scenes from Phantom Menace and Mace running in a different environment with a frame following him. Of course these scenes aren't blu ray quality to have not made it past here they would have scrapped the idea right out of the design process at first look before detail so they would know what it would be like. So what they did was rough animations for droids and where needed because they were running out of time or lazy just through in scenes from other movies.

Don't blame anyone for why it looks awful; it's not finished! It looks like it would have been a great scene, but it's hard to tell by the rough animatics (they were only put there as reference for the animators). I think it would've added to the battle, seeing more Jedi besides the main characters in action.

This was clearly an unfinished animatic. These were just a few of the many unfinished or cut scenes from that movie. I would love to see a software package that allows peope to cut together their own movie with any and all footage from the saga, but I seriously doubt Lucas would authorize this. Oh well.
