@namethatpokemon Knuckles needs at least 50 Rings or More to become Hyper Knuckles. But I can't say how he turned into Hyper Knuckles on the tornado. Maybe Tails gave him 50 Rings.

This wasn't the one I played that many times lol. But it was still plenty... And you stood a reasonable chance of dying.

I didn't like that Knux couldn't go thru this zone (and Death Egg) like Sonic (don't know about Tails). I know I'm not alone there.

Have you watched the trailer for Project Needlemouse? It clearly states that it's 2D and even displays the Sonic 1 title screen. I'm fairly sure that it is the working 2D title scheduled for release in 2010.

I'd like to see all the classics be remade, but not in a 3D world, 3D visuals yes but I'm not overly impressed with the 3D Sonic games, with the exception of Sonic Adventure.

Oh you're right, I read the IGN article wrong. It just said that the Needlemouse site is not official and is not related to the game.

I don't want them to remake this game in 3D, I want it 2D but with 3D visuals.

The only 3D Sonic games I liked were the Sonic Adventures.

I know what you mean, SEGA is better at producing 2D Sonic games than 3D ones. I'd love to go through a remade Ice Cap Zone (the music nad level design is just brilliant in my opinion).

I have high hopes for Project Needlemouse, I've always said that after all the disappointing Sonic games there would soon be an epic one and I'm praying that's it.

So wait, this boss is actually a character called Mecha Sonic, right? Or is this actually an incarnation of the first Metal Sonic with a huge ugrade. I mean he does look pretty similar to Metal Sonic in Sonic Heroes because he has a lot more spines on his back like the version in Sonic Heroes.

This is Mecha Sonic. You know who Metal Sonic is, and Silver Sonic was the Sonic robot in Sonic 2. You can see Silver Sonic in SA/SADX in that area where Gamma awakens along with Metal Sonic (They are in tubes). Metal Sonic was in Sonic Heroes bytheway, he upgraded himself.

So when I first played Sonic Heroes I thought that Metal Sonic was actually Mecha Sonic from S3&Knuckles. I thought that Mecha Sonic was Metal Sonic just in an ugraded form. Nice technique...I only recently discovered that you could hit Metal Sonic when he falls down before he rolls back to the emerald for a recharge. I'll have to try some of your tactics next time I play this level. This is my favorite Sonic boss fight.
