hey asswipe, brett favre is the best quarterback in nfl history and most people can agree with that but your probably some douche playing on your moms laptop
That was the best NFC title game I had ever seen. I'm from MN and even though they lost it did not feel nearly as bad as when they lost in 1998 to the Falcons. Saints were a respectable team and deserved to win the super bowl that year. Favre gave MN the best season of football we've seen since Randal Cunningham. Favre could have retired that season but he came back to try and give MN fans another shot. Greatest QB of all time!
He came back because it's always about Favre. He could give a shit about MN fans. You think he cares about you? He wanted to win a Ring so the media would kiss his ass while he rubs it in the Packers face.
Once again (like in SO MANY playoff games) Brett made it all about him. And the end result is throwing a dumbass Int, in the most critical moment. Now the Packers, their fans & Aaron Rodgers have the last laugh.
MN is still without a Ring. Favre accomplished nothing.
@drbayoms Favre accomplished more that season than any QB for MN since Cunningham. By far the most exciting QB to watch ever play the game. Even when he played for Packers MN fans still respected him. You cheese heads have no respect for one of the greatest QBs of all time who gave you guys nearly 2 decades of great play. The problem with Packers fans is it's always all about them not their players. No wonder why Favre wanted to rub another ring in your fans' faces.
Nope, not a cheese head. Just a fan of football. A real fan. Not a foolish fanatic. Brett Favre gave Green Bay 1 Ring and a plethora of playoff mediocrity. He has one Super Bowl in which he was MAYBE the 3rd best player for the Packers that day. He went into that game with the number 1 Defense in the NFL. If Howard does not win MVP, it would have gone to Reggie White and his 3 sack dominant performance.
Aaron Rodgers is a better, SMARTER version of Favre, without the arrogance.
@drbayoms Many pundits believe Favre was the greatest QB ever to play the game considering for most of his career he did not have a solid team around him or great receivers. Also, he played during a time when the league did not utilize the pass offense nearly as much as they do today. Most estimates place him at a higher level of performance than Rodgers if you take that into account. Rodgers has had a solid line and overall team since he started.
Are you on drugs? Name these "many pundits" who have Brett Favre as the Greatest of all time. Who, Skip Bayless?
"He played in a time when the league did not utilize the pass offense..." Again, are you on drugs? Favre did not play in the 80s. This was the mid 90s. The passing era with S. Young & others had already started. You have no clue what you are talking about.
Joe Montana holds the distinction of being the Greatest. Brett had his chance, but in the biggest moments he choked.
@como651 A higher level of performance than Rodgers? Based on what? Favre threw the same number of interceptions his first 2 starting seasons as Rodgers has in his first FOUR starting seasons. Rodgers also broke Favre's single-season team record for passing yards and TDs and set the NFL record for passer rating. Rodgers has a rating over 100 in 3 of his 4 starting seasons. Favre only did that once and it wasn't with the Packers. Solid line? 151 sacks in 4 seasons is a solid line?
@GreenDay1981 Rodgers is good no question about it but he's also had a good team around him since he started. Some things can't be measured with statistics either. Joe Montana is arguably the best QB ever also and he did not have as good of stats as Rodgers either. It is the ability to make big plays at crucial moments that defines a QB more than stats. 1985 Jim McMahon had the best play of any single season QB ever yet his rating was not exceptional that year.
@como651 If Rodgers had a good team around him ever since he started, why did the Packers go 6-10 in his first season as starting QB? It certainly wasn't because of him. He put up really good numbers that year. In 1985, Jim McMahon threw 15 TDs and 11 INTs. I don't know how that is considered the best play of any single season QB ever. The defense carried that Bears team that year.
@GreenDay1981 A great QB is one who can win games against extreme odds when it counts. Something that can't be measured with stats alone. Montana and Favre both these kind of QBs. Rodgers has yet to prove this. His team has always kept him way ahead in the game. He's rarely had to come from behind. As you pointed out his first season he had only 6 wins but we won't count that since that is a rookie season. Only time will tell if he will be as good as Favre was.
@como651 Extreme odds with Favre? Favre was one of the biggest playoff chokers in NFL history. He had 1 Super Bowl win in 11 playoff appearances. Rodgers has yet to prove this? Do you know anything about last year's Packers team? They lost their runningback Ryan Grant in the season opener, faced elimination the last 3 games of the regular season, won 3 road games to get to the SB, and won the SB despite losing key players like Woodson, Shields, and Driver. That is extreme odds.
@GreenDay1981 Give Rodger a few more years. Favre played good for nearly two decades. Some QBs have a good streak lasting a few short years then fade away like Rich Gannon. Time will tell if he is indeed better than Favre but I doubt he will be. We'll see if he can even get past a real defense like the 49ers or perhaps Ravens or Steelers in the Super Bowl. If he wins the Super Bowl this year I'll start to believe you a little more.
@como651 Favre wasn't good every one of those years, you know. There was one year where he threw 29 interceptions. I don't call that good. Rich Gannon didn't start becoming good until his 13th NFL season. That's why his run didn't last long. He got old. Um, did you forget that Rodgers beat the Steelers in the Super Bowl last season? You say to have Rodgers face a real defense like the 49ers. The 49ers defense hasn't played well against good offenses. Think about that one.
@GreenDay1981 Come on! Favre played his entire career without missing a game until halfway through is last season at age 41. He had one bad season out of two decades of play! The man is a legend. Did you forget the 40 yard pass against the 49ers 2 years ago with 6 seconds on the clock to win the game. Rodgers has never had a play like that. Steelers were with multiple injuries when they played the Cheese last year and is why they lost.
@como651 Only because he was too selfish to sit out a game even when he wasn't near 100%. In 2004, he suffered a concussion against the Giants and wasn't medically cleared to return but refused to sit out. The pass against the 49ers? Really? The receiver helped Favre out that time. You talk like it was a perfect pass. It wasn't. The Steelers had injuries? To who? The Packers had injuries to Woodson, Shields, and Driver. Those are bigger than any injuries the Steelers had.
@GreenDay1981 Let's just wait and see how Rodgers does next week and if he can win the super bowl this year. Rodgers could turn out to be the best QB ever but it is too early to tell. Defenses will evolve to the pass happy league soon and I doubt Rodgers will continue to put up stats like he has for much longer. Favre has already proven to be one of the greats. I personally think Joe Montana was the best QB ever.
Stupid....Brett Favre wad the greatest qb to ever play the game and maybe even the greatest player...we all know the toughness Favre had , shoe him some respect!!!
Holly crap, this guy doesn't have a life does he, first he is still pissed because Brett went to a better team that the gay packers, and he is jelous because he us twice his age and still better than him in football, and liking the Vikings
@avtar162 I wouldn't say the Jets were better than the Packers. You CERTAINLY can't be referring to the Vikings who are the biggest choke artists in all of organized sports. THEY are better? 50 years, 26 post-seasons and ZERO championships? Look up futility in the dictionary and they have a picture of a Vikings helmet. If my team was 0-4 in SB's and 0-5 in NFCCG since, and had to have their tin cup out for NFL charity to stay afloat, I'd be very careful on whose chin I think I can put my nuts.
hey jimabarnard. I REALLY hope you are like 14 and still have the time to do things like this. If you are older than that, you are actually the most annoying adult I've ever heard of.

@jipps36 No he didn't take them to new heights cause they've played in many NFC championships before this year. Most recently in '99 with Randall Cunningham and '01 with Dante Culpepper. If he was to take them to new heights they would have WON the Superbowl.
@landinmycourt then how come they didnt go before favre was there for the past 7-8 years? his stats were incredible for that season you cant deny without him they might not have gotten there
@jipps36 I wasn't talking about the past 7-8 years. I was talking about the history of the franchise. The mojority of Viking fans have been following the team for more than 7-8 years. They've been to 4 Superbowls and lost all 4. The addition of Favre was supposed to be the final piece of the puzzle to take them to NEW heights. NEW heights meaning Superbowl champions.
@landinmycourt im very aware of that, the vikings are my second favorite team behind my home team the Seahawks. i am talking about THIS YEAR without favre i dont believe they would have made it that far
@jipps36 Yeah, just like they wouldn't have made it that far without Fran Tarkenton in the 70's, Randall Cunningham in '99 and Donte Culpepper in '01. Hey but if your content without finishing in first place, more power to you.
@landinmycourt regaurdless do you think Tavaris Jackson could have takin them that far last season? be honest, i can understand your frusteration of favre losing that game i would be to but i just dont see them being there without him last season
@jipps36 When did I say Tavaris Jackson was better than Brett Favre? I just said that he has taken the Viking to the same level as Takenton, Cunningham and Culpepper did. If he wanted to take them to the next level he would have WON the Superbowl but he didn't cause once again he cost his team a chance to go to the big game with an INT. And no I'm not frustrated over him losing, I'm just tired of all the excuses people make for him losing.
@landinmycourt Fair enough, but regaurdless without him that season they would not have made it, yea sure its all his fault that they lost right? did you forget about the six fumbles AP had? there were a lot of errors that team made and they were lucky to have gone into OT. I love the vikings i wanted them to crush the saints but it didnt happen just got to home this year it will
@jipps36 Yeah I know other guys turned the ball over in the Saints game but those other guys had nothing to do with his other playoff loses to the Giants, Vikings, Eagles, Falcons and Rams in which he turned the ball over countless times. So regardless of who his teammates were or what teams he's played against in the post-season, he's found ways to turn the ball over to the other team.
im a saints fan. the vikings are a great team. that game was neck to neck the whole time. exept the vikings made more mistakes, the biggest one being the game losing intercepted pass. They could have beaten us BUT didnt happen.
@call911pl0x This is a logically comment. Dude this d ude only made if because of 1 interception. If it wasnt for Farve they wouldnt have beaten the 49ers, if it wasnt for Farve they wouldnt have gone 7-0, if it wasnt for Farve they wouldnt have made it this far. Some Vikings Fans are retarded. I guess Peyton Manning sucks because of the interception in Superbowl. People should not talk shit about Football if they know nothing about it. BTW WHO DAT to a fellow Saints fan
wow man this was really cool. your awesome. a you make fun of a guy who plays a game he loves at the age of 40 gets hurt contently and gets back up and plays some more. good job man. your the coolest
@jimabarnard dude i fucking hate brett this is awesome lmao and gopack41 about the only thing i agree with you is yes im a packer fan and he screwed the pack nation js
@MrClembran Why do you say that? Brett Favre wanted to end his career in Green Bay but your money hungry organization did not want to pay him what he was worth after they drafted their future star Rogers. They decided to start Rogers instead of signing a new deal with Favre. He gave your team a decade and a half of solid play then the owners screwed him over at the end of his career. MN was glad to have him. Can't even believe how Packer fans can turn on someone who gave them so much.
