@Cuyen068 Svetlana is not at all Kitri. I adore her but she is made for roles like Odette, Odile, Giselle... Sveta can't get the bravery of Kitri, Natalia has more more more energy.
She makes this...sort of an extra jump at the end of the turns in the beginning that does the trick for me. Most ballerinas I think just bring their leg down from the passe from turning. Natalia kicks it open into the air. How she gets the strength to make the jump is beyond me. It is obviously possible, but I could never master it like that. 0:09 and 0:16

i dont like cyntia harvey she doesn't give the kind of energy and personality kitri needs i think natalia and olesya novikova are very good kitris as well as svetlana zakharova but you now everyone likes different ballerinas and everyone likes diferent kinds of kitris. but i think every ballerina gives her one personality and ideas to each dance they make. among all this brava osipova!!!!
To those people who criticize Natalia's energy and outstanding athleticism: If you want a graceful, strictly technical, dry performance then watch Swan Lake by the Kirov. Sure, the Kirov is wonderful but the Bolshoi is known for its bravura style while keeping the technique. Osipova is a perfect example. Don Quixote is an energetic ballet that cannot be danced without excitement and the bravura style of the Bolshoi... just a though :D

um yeah THIS IS CLASSICAL BALLET!!!!!!!!!!!!! you take all the classical techinque and APPLY it to the character... this is called artistry. Kitri is a very wild free soul, she is passionate and a bit tempermental so when she dances it isn't going to be all flowers and precise movement it's going to be a reflection of her personality. go watch Maya Plisetskaya do this variation. Natalia is AMAZING!
she's amazing. For all the ballet fans in moscow it's a tragedy that she and Ivan are leaving Bolshoi

My favorite three Kitris have to be: Maya Plietskaya (sp?), Osipova, and Harvey. :) they're all so energetic.
