I think the size and the cost of the device would put off a lot of potential users. Aren't the present day smart phones capable of doing this job? I have an Android phone with an 8MPx cam. With the help of Google Goggles, it can translate an image into text - it does even better by solving Sudoku.
My Dyslexic friend sent me this link. Thank you VERY MUCH for making such an awesome device, it has made him (and me now too) very excited for its potential
There are people for whom glasses won't work. Even at the most powerful prescription possible, my vision is still 20/80. If I wasn't fortunate to have them my vision would be around 20/300 or 20/400 (estimated; i.e. legally blind). This means that, while I can see, I still need magnification of most printed material. My ideal font size is 24 to be able to effectively read without any problems or strain to my back (i.e. leaning in or anything). I don't want to develop a hunch back, after all. :)
I've asked three vendors if - in case my legally blind wife is unable to use this (she's anti techie), is it returnable. Not one of the 3 online vendors have even answered.
Hi! I truly admire the creators of this innovative product.
I have a question. My grandfather suffers from macular degeneration, so he needs this device. However, he is Peruvian, so he speaks Spanish. Does this device reads texts in Spanish? And if not, when will Intel be releasing one that does? Thank you in advance for your kind answer

Wow, what a neat product!
I've been blind since birth, and would love to have this. So I won't have to ask someone to read printed mail for me.
Can you also scan every day items with this?Such as shampoos or frozen dinners?
Thanks for this demonstration.

How large is the screen? Can it be used with the Eloquence text to speech system or other voice synthesizers?
