  • This car is about style, sound and just overall badassness. Comfortable riding and straightline cruising man.

  • Damn my STOCK 09 G8 GT can destroy this Thing and mines a four door grocery getter LOL SMH!!!

  • @113JUNIOR1187 yeah sadly they werent successful in north america, but im sure gear heads knew what time it was when they saw one :D

  • Good test sir. I'm looking to purchase a R/T

  • @mjf6866,

Your car is an oxymoron. Its big but unpractical. Its a muscle car but not very fast. It can only go straight and its not even that fast. It can't handle as well as other muscle/sports cars, doesn't seem like any logic is used in buying one. Unless you want to look like a poor thug.

I never said you had to race an 11.6 sec MS6, you can run me. But like most bitches you're better running your mouth than your car. I'm done here, you bore me.

  • Comment removed

  • I love my little MS6 than can seat more people than your huge slow tank, while handling better and being faster. Honestly, if you're in the DC area, we can race and video tape it. Ill even introduce you to a 11.6 sec MS6. No shit talking just fun racing.

  • @KoukiMS6 tell me how an 11.6 second anything vs a stock low 13 second challenger is fair? put a stock ms6 vs a stock r/t and see what happens or put the same amount of work into a challenger then race. better yet, find me a video of a STOCK MS6 running low 13s like a huge slow tank of an R/T. who care how many more you can seat in your car? and who care which car handles better? the challenger is a straight line muscle car.

  • @mjf6866 Grow a set and at least make a video of your car! You keep talking about what other R/T's are running, but like a good little bitch you never put up your shit. You just keep sucking the dick of others, upload YOUR SHIT, and then we'll talk. I don't want to hear shit about what this R/T did and that one run, upload yours and learn to be a man on your own two, you little sissy. You've seen my car, my car ran 13.3 7 months ago, before the TBE and E85 tune. So bring your shit.

  • @KoukiMS6 wow, punk...you like saying "shit" dont you?lol you are revealing your true self with every post. i'll bet your one of those "thug life" wannabe left over fast and the furious kids, right? hahaha...and when did i see your car joker?

  • @mjf6866

You are truly stupid. I said you should have bought a real car like a FORD MUSTANG 5.0, and you think I'm an import fanboy. Now I know why you bought a Dodge, you're simply stupid, and clearly cant read or comprehend. You didn't strike a nerve, I'm enjoying entertainment at the expense of your stupidity, dumb ass.

Face it you bought the slowest and worst handling "muscle car" possible. Go race a 5.0, Bette, CTS-V, or Camaro and get smashed. LMAO, you clown

  • @KoukiMS6 oh, after that response...i know i struck that nerve haha. i see you live vicariously through other people cause you cant have a real muscle car yourself. and i am stupid, i am "truly stupid" for even having getting into this argument with you. go have fun tooling around in your "boys" car...or your little MS6 haha. i'll be enjoying my "slowest and worst handling" muscle car!

  • @mjf6866

Don't take it out on me, be mad at Edmunds. 0-60 in 5.9, that's GTI speed. The car is a gas guzzling, horrible handling, Italian owned crap car. If you wanted a muscle car you should have bought a real one. My name didn't change, you replied to a 5 month old comment, stupid. If you had confidence in your car you wouldn't be so sensitive.

I know your car is slow, and more importantly you know it too.

  • @KoukiMS6 haha, i really struck a nerve now, didnt I? the only thing i'm confident in now is that i'm arguing with a simple minded import fanboy that reads magazines and watches videos like this and thinks he's an expert on Challengers. time to do some growing up and stop being so childish..."gas guzzling, horrible handling, Italian owned crap car"...that comment says it all.

  • @mjf6866 I doubt your shitty little dodge can beat my boys "grandpa" sedan G8 GXP. And you call your car muscle. ha

  • @mjf6866,

Oh and my G35 is slow POS. I'd take a Challenger over it anyday, but my MS6 is another story. Check it out. If ur down, we can race.

  • @mjf6866 I never once claimed my car is fast, just faster than yours. My 60ft. Is 1.835 0-60 in 4.7 and my best 1/4 is 13.3@104. My car isn't a Vette killer, but Challengers aren't that fast, and they handle like crap. And I never tried to insult, you're just a sensitive dude.

  • @KoukiMS6 you werent trying to insult me, it was rumblebeast08. punks like you cant insult me...you just make me laugh. and sorry to break it to you, but there are stock R/T autos running 13.1s@105+ with shittier 60's compared to your modded MS6 so you lose again. and why is your screen name changed all of a sudden?

  • If you want to look good this is the car for you. If you want high performance forget about it!

  • "save me tons of money on the gas pump"....i think not

  • ACCORDING TO dyno tests this car shall be .3 -.4 slower than an srt-8, which goes 12.9 +/- so i can assure a 13.3 avg by that lol TRY IT AND SEE/POST R/T OWNERS and lose 500 # and your in great shape!!

  • as a shopper for a new car ive been watching you tube recently and i am stiffled? by huge variation of e t s.

  • cant any one ever post the true best e.t ? come on just a few spins at the strip .id say the average guy who cant drive is what is posted here most can go almost a second faster

  • @smilsmff it differs from day to day, track to track, driver to driver. i was disappointed at first when i this video was posted before i got to see them for myself at the tracks and before i got mine. after i've seen them perform in the real world and seeing how my first time at a drag strip equaled these "professional" numbers, i can dismiss this test and all the others that downplay the r/t. let the haters think they have an easy kill...makes it that much more fun when you surprise them!

  • @mjf6866 Face facts, these things are slow.

  • @koukicrisp believe what you want dude. when you use terms like "hick math" to try insult someone, that right there tells me your just a jealous punk that comes on here to stir the pot. i find your thought process amusing...because you beat ONE R/T and your car runs high 13s, its labeled as a slow car. and you try to insult someone with hick math....grow up man. you dont happen to frequent the camaro5 forum, do you? you sound like a few on there...one in particular with a G...

  • To give you an idea of how good these "pro" drivers are, I got the exact same time in my stock r/t six speed my first time ever going to a drag strip. The car is a low 13 second car in the hands of a good driver.

  • @mjf6866 lol. I think this shit must happens world wide. these called "pro" drivers post their times on magazines and websites like it was the real paramether to be folow... But i´ve always asked myself: "Do they shift gears on their best? or really like a pro a driver does?"

  • @mjf6866 370hp and 4300lbs=low 13's? not even close. A 350hp 3300lb Nismo 370Z does it in 13.3 with a good driver, so how is 20hp more with 1000lbs more doing the same?

It's one thing to talk numbers, another to hit the track. It is VERY hard to hit these numbers put out by these magazines on a track. For example I own a bolt-on MS6 and I ran at Budds Creek with an Evo buddy of mine, Evo's stock has been clocked at 13.2 his best time was 13.8 and he's a good driver. It's not that simple.

  • Comment removed

  • @koukicrisp Those times you've quoted are nonsense. First off, stop comparing hp like that's the main thing that makes you go fast...it's called torque. Hemi's have it, Nissans don't. 410 ft-lbs to a "whopping" 276 ft-lbs that the 370Z has. 0-60 times with a good driver and a manual trans can get the RT Challenger to 4.5secs, stock. That's good enough for low 13s, if not 13.0 if you're lucky. When will everyone learn that horsepower is -not- the metric to judge cars by. Torque and gearing = WIN.

  • @rumblebeast08 Sorry, but a Challenger R/T is not fast. I have raced a black Challenger R/T and I run high 13's and I walked him.

They are too heavy, sure TQ wins races, when the cars have similar weight, but when theres 900lbs of weight difference, TQ means squat.

An 18 wheeler has 1500ft lbs of TQ, does that mean it can walk my car with 320ft lbs. with your hick math.

  • I have a 2011 challenger rt automatic, same car. I got the 0-60 timer on evic, and did it in 4.82 seconds, stock. Whoever said 0-60 in 5.7 seconds doesnt know how to drive.

But then at the same time, once in a while the car has some "dead spots" where I hit the accelerator expecting power and it isnt there..... Why?

  • @TheJellybean1988 dang, sounds like you have an srt8. that thing can almost keep up with a mustang 5.0

  • @paladain55 I've pulled on a 5.0 Mustang with my RT, that's with two friends in the car. I did it twice. The dude even rolled down my window to ask if I was stock (the answer was yes). 4.48secs is my fastest 0-60 time according to my evic. It's all driver, and there's always the rare chance that a specific Hemi has -just- the right setup for power from the factory.

  • @rumblebeast08 yeah i seriously doubt that your pulling over a second over factory completely stock. i think thats faster than an srt8. hell a 5.0 is like 3660/412=8.9 (0-60 4.6 4.7) then 4100/375= 10.9

hell my dads mustang with better tires, suspension (big improv.), and all engine bolt ons 3450/425=8.1 pulls a 4.15 its like golf the lower the better.. upload a video if your certain

  • Now I know to point and laugh eerytime I see an r/t

  • its 376 with the 6 speed

  • just saying- the 302 boss mustang can do 0-60 in 4.0 and 1/4 mile in 12.7, just saying, and also for around the same price ;)

  • @MillionairJoe just sayin' everyone doesn't want to own a mustang just saying it cost more cause it doesn't have a bunch of plasitc holding the dash together.

  • @geedee3 well fair enough, everyone is entitled to an opinion, even if its a silly one :/

  • @MillionairJoe I guess so. silly me.

  • @MillionairJoe BAD video, these times suck and I eat Rustangs with mine...

  • @MillionairJoe A Boss 302 starts at 42G's the Challenger R/T is about 35k, that's not too close at all. I think you are confusing this for the SRT-8 392, which is 44K.

  • @koukicrisp ahh yess, i probably am. sorry folks :(

  • @koukicrisp BOSS 302 IS 68 K AT DEALERSHIP check mark ups, 392 is 49 k

  • @koukicrisp for 44k might as well just get the shelvy 500 super snake puts out 750 hp

  • yel on allah im getting it

zube ya hussien el muhammaed karbalat imam keflief ill sit zeinab she kweefed lol

  • @rsbottrader99 wtf are u saying?

  • yel on allah im getting it

  • such a shame this is the first video to pop up for the R/T when you search for it on youtube. average Joes are DESTROYING these times that edmunds got. goes to show you, journalists are not always drivers!

  • terrible car

  • Huh how about that, BMW drivers ARE pricks!

  • @AlboBmw thats c uz u dont own one

  • after some aftermarket parts into my challenger the performance has greatly increased, after the Flowmaster Super 44 exaust system (cat back no res), new high performance tires, Mopar cold air intake, and with the ECU chip in the mail this car is well worth it, you can do all of this without voiding the Warranty, its perfect.

  • what is everyones facination with 0-60 times??? how often do you use that when driving everyday?? do you honestly say OH NO I ONLY DID 5.9 from that light instead of 5.1 AHHH...is there anything more to a car when your buying it or driving it than just the 0-60 times??? sometimes i think that is the only factor people look at when they look at cars... if you want a good 0-60 times buy a bike or put a rocket on a skateboard...

  • Comment removed

  • Wow! 5.9? Slowest 0-60 of any test I've seen yet. Most professional reviews are 5.1 seconds. Remember kids drivers and track conditions change everything.

  • that extra weight really is killing the 0-60 and .25 mile. a new v6 camaro is running about the same. still a great car though

  • 5.9 seconds.

  • @chris850t my VW GTI did that stock haha

  • @luciano1007 really? Ugly rims?

This is not a "bling, bling" car that should have 24" or 26" rims, looking like a car that belongs in a circus. This is a muscle car that should be respected in it's current form. And these rims are Alcoa forged aluminum wheels. Light weight, and stronger than most other rims. But I guess "BIG" rims, and hydralics would better suit your taste for a car like this huh?

  • ugly rims :D

  • Im getting one next year (a used one probably) and Supercharging that Baby! :)

    490+ HP! :)

  • 0-60 is more like 5.2 - 5.4

  • i own one :)

  • It doesn't look as cool without the stripes.

  • The SRT8 is awesome through the slalom...idk about the R/T and this driver sucks lol

  • damn, that thing rolls around in the corners like it's suspension is filled with whipped cream, just like a muscle car should. with the r/t classic package and a manual tranny i'd buy this thing in heartbeat. i have a mini cooper and i love the super sharp handling but what i would give for a big snorty hemi and a paint job so bright it burns your eyes.

  • bad numbers lol

  • its a damn shame that this is the first video that comes up when searching for "Challenger R/T." Edmunds just cannot launch this beast. People are beating these times easily, with a little bit of practice with the car. The auto R/T's are running low 13's stock and the manuals are mid 13s stock WITH GOOD DRIVERS! 0-60 times are better too from real world times...low 5 seconds is the norm, but some have hit 5 flat and even a few sub 5 second runs. Edmunds...you are a joke!

  • @bigdaddywiz ... thank you

  • @bigdaddywiz youre full of it. challengers are the slowest of the three ponies and you know it

  • my gfs dad drives a 370 and i drive a 89 supra with only a few mods, i smoked his ass. Then pulled up to a challenger r/t and lost lol but the 370 does have amazing suspension and handling but it just doesnt sit there with the challenger.

  • @kotabtno Lol your amusing little stories are funny but just like nsspartan you're full of it.

  • @Strizzn8tr Yeah. I have a 2010 Challenger RT and they do sound gay. He didnt have his RPM's high enough to light them up, and the stock tires are 20x8. So the will was there for those tires to scream, but he didnt give it the gas.... I've done it a few times and I feel embarrassed each time it happens!

  • Looks like a boat going through the slalom.

  • @BarackHOsama i wont disagree with you there. the slalom is not its strong point. she needs some stiffer springs to handle better. remember though, this is a muscle car and not a sports car!

  • @BarackHOsama

Well back in the 70's, All cars were Boats Basically lol, 3600 Pounds for the 1970 Dodge Challenegr R/T! and a 1969 Chevyrolet Camaro SS weigh at 3,765. Hell a 1907 Cadillac Deville weigh over 3,800 pounds and 375 HP and that thing was fast i heard! lol

  • Nice but think I'll stick with a white 1970 version, a handful of bennies and a mad dash to California.

  • this guy sucks at driving...

  • damn this drag strip is in my home town! <3

  • i heard in 2011, there updating this thing and the R/T is getting 400+ horsepower, and the SRT8 is getting around 500 horsepower.

  • the challenger is a straight up mans car if u cant hang dont drive

  • no grip wat a over priced pice of shit

  • Great car! I love it when the haters speed off because their girlfriends are staring when they see my Challenger. Wooowee!

  • he sounds like chip foose

  • dumbasses,

  • This car is all about looks and nostalgia. Performance wise, it's too heavy to do anything very well.

My 3.2 liter inline 6 cylinder is a full second faster to 60 and it runs circles around the Challenger in every other conceivable category.

So when people spout off about the superiority of V8 muscle cars, they have no clue what they're talking about.

  • Comment removed

  • @willem01 The V8 sounds like a beast, I like it. But I really like the way my inline 6 sounds, too. It sounds more like a race car.

I think more people prefer the sound of a big V8, though. It's deep, throaty, and intimidating.

  • @demoskunk .

I have a '73 lincoln (with a V8 ofcourse) and it suits the car because it's big and heavy...i don't know what car you have but it's inline 6 probably suits the car to, right?...

  • @willem01 Oh yeah, a '73 Lincoln HAS to have a sizeable V8. My dad bought a '79 Buick LeSabre with the (at the time) new V6 option and he traded in the car almost immediately 'cause it couldn't get out of its own way. A full size car needs a V8.

I drive a 2002 M3, and yes, the inline 6 suits it perfectly. It's a fairly small car, and the 333 hp that its high revving engine produces just rockets the car forward, especially in third gear!

  • Second pass with my 2010 R/T Classic automatic I got 5.29 sec. 0-60 and didn't even disable ESP or get the revs up while holding the brakes. But then my car has the Super Track Pack option

  • I have a Challenger RT and my 0-60 time is 5.34 sec. not 5.9 like in this video. I have only had the car a month and have made no modifications to it.

I can probably improve on the time. Love this car. Love it.

  • @kc0mwu May 03 altima 3.5 SE 5 speed does 0-60 in 5.9, but I love the looks of the Challenger. It looks just like a 69 Camaro. If I was going to go for performance and muscle for the price of the R/T, I'd buy a Vett that's a couple years old. It has the muscle and handling.

  • in ny auto show there was at less 4 R/T. cost more that camaro and is slower don't get it you pay more get less ?

  • this guy gets too much wheelspin off the line, it's killing his acceleration numbers

  • also if dodge grew brains they would be the srt10 in this car. its too heavy for the 425hp v8

  • if im buying an american muscle car, i could not give A SHIT about handling. All i car about is its straight line speed. And to be honest a 5.7 with 370 horse should be quicker than 5.9 even the srt does it in about 5, i just think they should have more power or be able to put it down better because the cars look amazing but the performance is nothing special

  • yes, exactely...5.7L should produce more then 370 ponies AND make better time from the 0-60 but this is where i have to give it to Ford, the Mustang is down HP by roughly 50 and has a better 0-60 and quicker 1/2 mile!? HOW?? and the secret is the age old enemy to fast cars...WEIGHT. The Challenger is an Elephant compared to the 'Stang & Camaro...but id have to agree that in terms of classic-styling, this is it hands down, right amount of attention where it counts. Guys should make it less CHUBBY

  • Wow that's pretty fast. A Camaro ss from the 90s is faster than this.

  • dude they didnt make an ss camaro in the early 90s late 90s they did but its not faster prove me wrong i know my shit

  • here i am to prove you wrong moron, 1998 camaro ss, 0-60 5.2

    1/4 mile 13.6

    there you go douche bag

  • watch their video of them testing the srt8 challenger. its still slower then the mustang gt. hahahaha.

  • Yes and for good reasons, the weight of the Mustang has always been its advantage, however, the solid rear axel shows outdated and true-retro-performance....but it saves on weight and adds to the heritage of the car. Next year the Mustang GT gets its life back with the 5.0L V8 making 415HP!

  • The new Challenger looks 10 times better than the Ford Mistake err Mustang.

  • Looks i agree...performance, well, just watch any video comparing the 2

  • @Mondafied no you couldnt be more wrong, and the 2011 mustang will spank them all camaro, challenger, charger

  • No no no. Edmunds is what sucks. I just bought one of these about 3 weeks ago. Its an R/T. It has a little more hp than the stock R/T because it has k & n air filter and glass packs. So it has about 385 hp. I'll admit, the take off on them isn't the fastest but if you still have to the floor when it hits about 3rd gear, then I'm telling you, you have to watch it or it will get away from you. Its a damn good car.

  • u dum sht dont u no tht edmunds 0-60 accuracy suks every1 nos the challenger rtit goes 0-60 in 5.0s and faster than the mustang in 1/4mile.

  • all major reviewers must be wrong then lol

  • no u dum ass all reviews except for edmunds say tht challenger goes 0-60 in 5.1s 0-60

  • so explain why a car with more litres and more horsepower, is slower then a car with less litres and less horsepower u dum shit...either way the Mustang is faster...you dum shit

  • u the dum sht challenger is heavier and mustang Gt is not faster than a challenger r/t in a long drag race becuz challenger has a way faster Top speed...challenger is 165 and mustang 141

  • You really are an idiot...

  • @MHaQuE32 hahaha, ur slow, i took my governer off and now my stang is easily capable of 195+, its factory settings, not real life ability for the stang to be 141 maxed out. i promise you any amount of money the stang would reach 200 wayyyy before the boat would

  • @MHaQuE32 who races on endless tracks? these cars were built for the quartermile and the challenger cannot compete with the mustang.

it couldnt compete from a roll either, its got way less power and 500 more pounds

  • no your a dumb shit and you dont spell dumb like dum u retard challenger is faster mustang has like 200hp its just light u fuckin retard

  • @XxALLxCODxFOREVERxX

how is the challenger faster you fukin retard? in every 3 car race, the Mustang is always 2nd and the faster Challenger is last...explain that

  • @MHaQuE32 with a pro driver.....you would probably do it in 6.0 if that....

  • That is awsome car! It looks kind of like the old 1968 Dodge Charger which is also an awsome car!

  • lol edmunds has such bad stats challenger rt is 5.1 in 0-60

  • maybe if your a hobbit driving it

  • the challenger needs 5 spoke deep dish wheels

  • Lift it just a bit, and put some fat rims and tires and that thing would look as good as any classic muscle car.

  • lol lift it and it will look good that's funny

  • It should hit sixty in between 5.1-5.4 sec. Sorry driver or just bad tires-

  • That's the SRT, not the R\T. Big, big difference.

  • Comment removed

  • this is the only muscle car besides the mustang that id drive.

  • that s impossible our my 300c and challenger go 0-60 in 5.4sec!!

    they are the 5.7.

  • thats because the 300c is gas injected this is not.

  • 3.36 seconds my flat brown ass!

  • 0-60 in 5.9? Are these guys high or just terrible drivers? My 300C does 5.6 stock on the EVIC and 5.2 with my predator tune. And that's with the non-VVT 5.7. WTF?

  • thats because the 300c is gas injected this is not.

  • What?

  • show PROOF!

  • the challenger is also a two ton vehicle though!!

  • Just bought a challenger srt8 put a procharger in it. Produces 900rwhp

    my 0-60mph in 3.36 seconds

top speed - 187 mph ungoverned.

I bought it used so all in all i spend 38000$.

This car is a great buy if you just want something fast but cant afford a lambo/ferrari etc.

  • 3.36... yea right.. keep on dreaming... and dont compare muscle car to a lambo

  • Foreign fairies like the lambo. The Challenger is a mans car son. You must have a limp french or italian wrist.

  • thats what I"m talking about..... -.-

  • hahahaha maybe 1 or two seconds would be impressive but 3.36 seconds BULL SHIT no way and you know how aerodynamic your car would have to be, its a completely diff suspension, tires, gearbox so itss compete bullshit

  • This car is all about the sound, the look, and the hemi. It looks amazing, it sounds above and beyond any 350 or 370z on the road, and the engine kicks ass. Now i'm not an American, i'm British, but I know a special car when I see one- and the Challenger is a special car.

  • @easybuoy dont people in the UK hate american cars?

  • @easybuoy dude.... i love you lol (no homo)

  • @easybuoy

    I'd rather have a 370z.

  • @Scarified2012 youd probably rather have a cock in your ass too

  • @nsspartan77

Bang for the buck, the R/T is slow and handles poor, not to mention it's ~4000 lbs. Yeah, if anything I'd buy an srt8... why downgrade to an R/T after driving the SRT8?

  • @Scarified2012 true, i just CAN"T STAND zed cars, they are my #1 most hated vehicles of all time, i drive a mustang so i agree with you 100% on the challenger, but they are very attractive car regardless of how heavy they are. i'm not getting rid of my bullitt for a challenger ever, but i'd still much own a challenger r/t over a 350/70z any day

  • @nsspartan77 After driving the SRT8 trust me... you would never step into the R/T again. And I daresay that stock per stock a manual 370z would be neck to neck with a manual srt8 in the 1/4 mile. The Challenger is the best looking "retro musclecar" because it is so identical to the original. Really, it's the best of both worlds: modern powertrain/suspension with classic car looks. I just don't understand why you would hate the Z cars though, they're legendary sports cars.

  • @Scarified2012 zeds ALWAYS try to pull some shit while i'm driving near them, even if i'm minding my own business, i drives me nuts, and ya they're quick and handle well, but they never learn they're aren't fast. I smoke a 350 turbo on the highway one day, was just cruising at 70, passed him, he pulls up on my side and starts spooling thinking he hot shit, so i dropped down into 3rd and left his ass, he couldn't even close on me

  • @nsspartan77 What do you have done to your Bullitt?

  • @Scarified2012

Thats true about driving an SRT-8 and not wanting ever step into an R/T ever again. I only own a 2010 Dodge Challenger SE V6 and my dad owns an SRT-8 Challenger, i drove it one time and went up to New Jersey to drive at the SRT Track Experience and it was nothing like driving a V6 thats for sure lol, but what im really trying to say is i guess that an SRT8 is incredible but if you Supercharged a R/T, Hell that would be almost twice as fast as a SRT8 lol

  • @vinylcollector08

Think about what you're saying. Twice as fast as a SRT8? They run low 13's (ex: 13.2 in the 1/4). Twice as fast would be a 6.6 in the 1/4 mile. Eh... not just a s/c will get you there. But i see what you mean, a s/c 5.7 will be faster than a bolt-on 6.1L.

When is say twice as fast as an SRT-8, i mean its almost double the Horsepower if there was a Supercharger like a Vortech Supercharger bolted onto the R/T which will give the R/T Between 490-500 Horsepower. I didnt say Double, i said almost Double as much
