  • valve float?

  • GOOD WORK!!!

Much like Scarecrow, I think some water vapor might cure the problem. We scrub HHO making it very dry. Vapor provides a "cushion" for the piston. Increases fuel density. And on the combustion stroke the vapor expands with heat improving efficiency. Have seen too many engines run better w/ HHO +vapor. And if you run it w/o gasoline, you must inject some lubricant in the vapor or you see excessive cylinder/piston wear. The engine was designed to run on petroleum, after all.

  • Implosion sucking, I agree with SSC. Very bad valve design. Is this a Chinese knockoff of a honda ? or is this a real honda POS engine. (POS does not stand for Point Of Sale)LOL! I'll have to ask Matt in the AM. I think that shim is in there to spread the load on the stamped, unhardened, POS lifter. It is cheaper to harden a small disk of good steel than use good hard steel for lifters.

  • @1TEKTRON1 this engine is a 206 cc B&S.

the implosion more than likely did the damage. I did how ever have some other mechanical issues going in that run, i have not run into the same problem since.

    thanx for the sub

  • Implosion sucking, I agree with SSC

  • niagra falls,

Slowly I turned, step by step , inch by inch

    Three stooges

    idiot

  • Allright here's my 2 cents. I think trying to convert a 4 stroke engine to run on hho has a lot of problems to over come. maybe easier to design one that can work with hho instead of fighting the vacume. Maybe like a steam engine on a locamotiv engine, a double sided piston, that way when one side is compressing the other side of piston just fired. Gary

  • I think you would find that the implosion happens so quickly after the explosion that neither impulse would win ... inertia would never be overcome ... the piston would just sit there ...

by adding a quantity of inert gas, like air, we are allowing the air to absorb the heat of the explosion ... it is the expansion of the inert gas that we are taking advantage of ...

  • Ya know, sometimes shit just happens :) Maybe run tighter clearances if it happens again.

  • yep shit happens just hope i can keep shit from happening again. lol

  • step by step, inch by inch, slowly I turned ...

ooops, excuse me ... an ancient reference from a Three Stooges episode ...

Carbide Tip may be onto something ... if your mix was too rich on HHO could be that the implosion sucked BOTH your valves open ... gotta keep the volume of inert gas as high as you can and still keep her running overcome the implosion ... am sure there are other, better ways, but that is the only one we know right now ...

  • ct may very well be right. but i cant help but wonder if my aquapulser was the problem. it was discharging the caps even when the engine was not running. there were times when i had gas entering the the engine with out it running that i would get flashbacks. dont know if that was the problem or not, but i did not do anything different than i did in the past. the only thing i can do is wait and see if it happens again.

what did ya think about the pistons?

  • I would need you to provide commentary on the pistons ... not sure what I am looking at ... I think I am looking at the original piston that had some slap to it and the new one post engine mod that still looks pretty clean ... but my eyes aint all that good ... tell what you see ...

  • the piston on the right was the stock piston it had approximately 15 hours of run time on it, and looks beat up for such a short life span. the new piston on the left has about 5 hours on it and still looks brand new. notice the discoloration on the head of the old piston witch had seen very limited amount of gasoline . the new piston has never seen any gasoline. it may be to early to tell but i think this piston will last longer and seal better

  • Abbot and Costello, idiot.

  • I take exception to the idiot remark, but I do believe you are correct about the ancient reference ... now that I think about it, it was Abbot and Costello ... thank you for that timely correction ...

  • DP, I guess you are the one that needs a little education. It's wasn't Abbot and Costello - it was an old vaudeville act by Harry Steppe, Joey Faye. But since you know everything, I guess you just got mixed up - again - and started spouting off - again - spreading misinformation - again.....

  • Actually it's both. Abbott and Costello and the Three Stooges both did this routine.

  • Push Pull is killing you.

    Larry

  • yep this is some thing that we will have to overcome. better yet use it to our advantage. even though we know the implosion is there i still dont know what is going on inside the engine. i have lots of ideas lots i want to try

i hope to team up with you when your ready we will then we can figure it all out together

  • Or vacuum in the cylinder pulled the valve in?

  • im glad you mentioned that. i was thinking the only way for the follower to fall off is if the valve was when the rocker was still in the valve closed position . that would create the space for it to fall off
