  • Hey Dr. Z, Appreciate your videos, as always. My boss has an opportunity for a 64 unit hotel, that has Carrier water source heat pump consoles, boiler room, and cooling tower, on roof. This opportunity represents a first for both of us on this type of equipment. I can remember you saying, in one of your videos to newer techs, hospitals, and other like institutions are ideal for the experience factor. do you have any videos on WSHP?

  • @blissJesus1 Sorry I don't have anything on water source heat pumps. Just think of the system as sort of like a chiller with a cooling tower. The biggest pain in the ass about taking care of that type of system is having to maintain the cooling tower and the water loop water chemistry and piping. The heat pump is a lot like a swimming pool water heater.

  • Great video just like always.

  • @TandNServices Thanks.

  • nice video Dr Z,

where are these check valves used, I have never come across one.

    5*****

  • @dav1099 Check valves are used in heat pumps to regulate the flow of refrigerant in the heat and cool mode.

  • cool magnetic service tool

  • @keviekev70 I have about six of them. They help to keep the valves open when I'm recovering gas and evacuating a system.

  • Hey Dr Z!

I've been planning a solenoid vid and now you've beaten me to it!

Might do it anyway when i get the time :-)

  • @heavydiesel You could still do a solenoid video. Maybe you could do a cross section. Besides, I didn't completely tear down the valve.

  • @DrZarkloff Got a call on thursday and found a solenoid letting by and frosting up, think i'll get a vid of it when its frosty and then take it to bits to see why its leaking and how it works when i go back with the replacment valve :-)

  • I misspelled that. What a zero I am. Disc!

  • Thank doc. Great post. DISK!

  • @cdub61208 Editing is essential for me. I try to make it flow as smooth as possible but sometimes, well...
