  • these things are fuckin gangsta as shit.

  • AAw!!! I love bugs ^_^

  • tzitziki

  • they live under gorund as worms for like 15 years then rise up to the top turn into these weird insects at first then in this beautiful insect and die a day after that final transformation

  • they are pretty

  • I had one that climbed up to my jeans and hung around there when it was raining. Didn't realize it was hanging onto my pants till i heard some buzzing. Guess it saw the umbrellas I was carrying

  • They're not ugly, they're rather quite harmless... I love the fact of their hard shell, keeping them well protected against other bugs that may end up trying to eat it.

And to anyone saying that they bite... they don't.

They're just loud, thats the only drawback I can think of, with these little cicada's.

  • but will it blend?

  • cicada

  • It's a giant fly!

  • these are adorable ! the eyes and color !

  • These things are here in minnesota. They leave there empty skin shell things around.

  • WHy don't we have Cicadas in Sweden...

  • so pretty!

  • Can you believe some people actually EAT these things?!

Fry them up like shrimp, or so I hear...

  • sqeeze it do it do it do it

  • I used to handle these a lot when I was a kid. Now I'm paranoid it will stick me with its proboscis. It can pierce bark, so I can believe it can be quite painful.

  • I heard from somewhere that they are related to shrimp and edible?

  • @foamythe

Dunno about the shrimp part, unless you're refering to arthropods in general, but yep! You can indeed eat these guys provided you don't have a seafood allergy. (And you'll be hoping for females when you do. Their abdomens are much more meaty.)

  • KILL ITTTT

  • i gat these things stuck on my bug zapper all the time they are fucking annoying as hell and they buzz for a long ass time on the zapper

  • that is a bee i hate bee i get sting by a bee 2 times in one day

  • its a shit-flie ......the bigger the shit, the bigger the flie... xDDD

    just joking

  • I love locesis(however u spell it) :)

  • I'm scared of big insects like this one, i don't know which one stings or doesn't so maybe that's why. I don't know about this one...

  • Я б струганул.

  • Hey look its Cell from Dragon Ball Z!

  • Cicada in Brazil is "Cigarra" XD

  • i think you shared a moment :D

  • Those things are really annoying... >_>

  • Homoptera Auchenorrhyncha, cool!

  • I hate these ugly things, one tried to attack me and i smushed the shit out of it!!!

  • @niiki21baby You fucking halfwit, why would you do that!? I'm pretty sure it did not try to attack you, and how could you hate them!? That's the one thing that will make me really upset. I don't like it at all when people like you hate bugs, they have feelings, and they are people, I'm talking about the cicadas, like the one in this video.

  • hey a locus!!!

  • so cuuuute

  • HOLI SHIT, IT FLIES!?!?

  • Will it blend?

  • Cicada are so beautiful. I had no idea they got so big. :) I don't see them here in canada. :C

  • @annubrius They can get up to 5 inches long if they live up to it, though some species are different in size, we hate them here in brazil, as for twice a year every year they infest everything and are annoying sounds at night, one is cute, but a million are disgusting. they pee everywhere.

  • @annubrius lots in (south-eastern) ontario canada :) you don't see them too often but you hear them.

  • @annubrius

You don't see them but can you can probably hear them.

I found a nearly dead one once. Then I found one making noise on a tree who flew away when I went near.

  • @annubrius i heard there very loud and make mating calls for long periods of time.

  • @annubrius Cuz they only come ou every 17 years i belive

  • @annubrius There are many kinds of Cicadas in Canada, you just need to know where to look for them ;) The most commonly found one here is Tibicen canicularis, the "dog day" cicada :) In the Maritimes I think there's a species Called Tibicen superba (superbus) they keep changing the species name but anyway, it's lime green! :) The most beautiful cicada I've seen by far is the Zammara smaragdina! It's cyan blue! :D

  • @annubrius They can get a lot bigger.

My dad comes from a tropical island where all bugs get fucking huge. These included.

  • ew cicadas are the fkin ugliest bugs of all insects besides spiders and beetles! :D

  • She has pretty big wings! She is pretty though in her own way. :)

  • lol my friend at school killed one of those today it was a scary ass bug!

  • know i dont want to eat my cracker -_-

  • does it bite?

  • AHHHH THOSE LIVE EVERYWHER WHER I LIVE AND MY BROTHER ONCE FUCKING SCARED ME WITH ONE AND I CRIED MY EYES OUT ):

  • oh

  • errr no offence but isn't that just a fly!?

  • @MammoAnto500 a cicada, they make buzzing and clucking noises when you touch of squeez them, and they are pretty damn big too, lol

  • FARTI IT :p

  • I have a massive fear of bugs and spiders. Why do I watch these videos?

  • As I understand it, Cicadas are also the loudest of any insect. I think it's their mating calls or something, but they can get really, really loud.

  • @SixFootTallMidget Thank You

  • dude cicadas are the coolest

  • i used to catch those all the time as a kid. there were hundreds of them in my back yard in okinawa. brings back alotta memories

  • What an amazing creatue! For all those who are disgussed with its looks, you're missing the point guys. It is beautifully engineered.

  • i hate that thing i killed hundreds of it

  • @siikdUde I always find people like you so enlightening.

  • I have never seen a Cicada that Big! D:

  • @MissFoxxy15 they're alot bigger in japan! different variations too

  • @joshkasper I did not know that O.O

  • @MissFoxxy15 there are black ones with clear wings which are the largest ones, then there are the all brown ones with subtle white and black spots. those are smaller and more common, most likely because their colors match the bark of the trees very well.

  • @joshkasper Cool! :)

  • alright I admit this bug is neat, but I wouldn't have it crawlin all up on my hand lol

  • ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww..you actually touched that thing??

  • @AngelEyesM33 Pussyface

  • Shedinja:DXD

  • iv found one dying on the sidewalk...

Ither than that you never see em because they fly away from you.

  • thats one bug i still can't really pick up

  • omg that why my cicada turned into a giant moth *really its a locust and im messsing around* rrrruuuunnnnn!!!!!!!

  • MIKADO MINMIN?

  • @ImTheYUNOGuy Whaaaat? Ugly? But it's pastel green and velvet blue, and look at its delicate wings! They look like lace. And that little triangular head. I find this cicada really beautiful.

  • @janeyanna a magnificent creature it is!

  • cool but weird at the same time, how did you get it to stay in your hand?

  • This thing has more at japan

  • what typ is that its blue

  • it is a jar fly

  • is that a baseball or a bug?

  • Looks like a space ship... I dont like their engine sound though :/

  • i hate those loud fuckers

  • sexy fly

  • that's called maeme in korean it's very loud when it crys

  • DONT THESE THINGS HAVE MOUTHS?? HOW DO THEY EAT?

  • @TheArchfiend666 They don't. Cicadas spend most of their lives in their larval stage; the adult phase is just for reproduction. They store fat before they pupate to last them just long enough to find mates, and to lay eggs. That's why they all have to emerge all at the same time.

  • those piss me off

  • I HATE THESE THINGS FUCKING NOISY

  • how do you know it wont bite the shit out of you?

  • Around here not only do we have those, we have gigantic wasps that catch them and eat them. Sometimes the birds follow the wasps and steal the cicada they caught. It's actually pretty funny.

  • @dieinterimsliebenden get it on film and get tons o views!

  • C'mon we have tons of these in japan

  • @MrKei576 same in turkey broh :D

  • EUW EUW EUW EUW EUW

  • he's cute

  • i thought it was a overgrown fly

  • That thing is actually really friggin' cute.

  • Looks almost cute with it trying to get its leg positioned right. But then I think of that annoying buzzing that never ends outside and it kind of ends >>

  • I found one of these floating dead in a pool.

I picked it up and threw it over a fence so no one would swallow it lol

  • flippy

  • They look like Aliens :) Very cool...caught some myself a few times.

  • i think it's cute.

  • omg those bugs are very annoying lol

  • do those like... bite you cuase ive seen the Cicada in a video game.. and i dont know...

  • @omgitstati1 It COULD bite you - as they DO have a probiscis (large feeding tube) but they are generally friendly bugs. They feed on tree sap - not on blood/flesh, although if you don't move for awhile I suppose it's possible that the cicada could become confused and mistake you for a tree. There's no pain killer in it's bite - so it's going to hurt a bit if it does decide to do so, but again - that's going to be quite rare.

  • a family of frogs can feast on this like a turkey on thanksgiving

  • Ah! Thanks I searched for my little sister everywhere!! Where can I pick her up?

  • @HolzbierProductions

    HA HA HA! LOL

  • so they don't bite?

  • Sweet!

  • We have lots of cicadas in my neighborhood. I like the sound they make in the daytime.

  • i find one with a the letter W on it, and a number 8 on it. haha , weird

  • It looks like it can hurt people and sting! O_o

  • @AsianGirl240

They're totally harmless. The worst they can do is scream and give you a heart attack when you try to touch them. :P

  • Ever seen a Cicada Killer Wasp? They're pretty scary-looking wasps. xD

  • im going to need a bigger fly swatter

  • lol i saw these in animal crossing *im so lame LOL

  • here in greece we catch 20 of this every day

  • @rafael10101998 Maybe you guys can sell them to Asians, so you get more money for your broken budget.

  • nice... i used to hunt for cicada wings to use as inspiration for drawing fairy wings. i kind of forget how pretty the living creature it came from is.

  • Cicada.....It's what's for dinner

  • es una puta chicharra pufff....

  • cookie monster would have eat it

  • But will it blend.......

  • thats basically like one of those annoying flies at your Bar B Q or in your house in the summer time....100 TIMES THE SIZE.

  • cute:)

  • Its a Cicada : ) (The bug where you find its brown skin it sheds on trees)

  • @EmberToInferno444 No it's not that i see those all the time its definatley not a cicada you find brown ski

  • @stealthshadow100 Google it. Its a Cicada. the reason why its brown skin is because when the Cicada sheds the skin is so delicate as soon as it loosed its nutrients it hardens and dry's it self out. i know what im talking about on this subject. Google Cicada skin if you dont believe me

  • Theres alot of those in the Philippines. Millions comes out at night. We had like 38 trees in our property. They would eventually die, and the ground would be covered by those things

  • good lord man when the fuck did you find one of these

  • :) i think some cicadas, like this one, are beautiful

  • I remember the first time I saw one was in Florida when I went to Disney World, I forget where we were exactly, but this thing was sitting on the sidewalk, and I thought it was some unholy sin against god cross between a bee and a bird. Talk about an education.

  • In Texas you dont find Cicada. Cicada finds YOU.

  • @Cyberfreak963 lol and i spent too much time trying to find one for my collection, here in peru

  • @Cyberfreak963 so vary true

  • wtf that thing freaks me out is it really that big or is it a kid holding it

  • it looks like a giant fly

  • Cicadas are beautiful. I used to have one in the ground stage, idk the real name, but it's when it's brown, and they have claws, and no wings, and they dig in the ground, watching it change from stage 1 to stage 2 was awesome.

  • in a hot sunny day those thing drive you crazy by the sound they make

  • These are cool looking... But man are they ever annoying in the summer... They make such a LOUD NOISE.. at some point your like FUCK STOP!!!

  • It's a very pretty insect. Cicadas are fascinating creatures, thanks for showing one.

  • i used to catch this but in summer after rain when i was a kid.. its fun to play with it, he doesnt bite

  • Cicadas (Tree frogs) that really loud buzzing you hear in the falll, thats them mating calls. Dont kill them. They have a 18 yr in some areas 13 yr cycle from pupae to adult. Dont let them rest on your arm to long, keep em moving, or youmight get mistaken for a tree and get stung, painful but not toxic in anyway. They have a long probiscus that they use on trees etc. The gentle giants of the bug world. Very very cool.

  • There everywhere at my house and they are called Cicadas

  • Hey man 1st did that thing just crap in your hand? 2nd is that a giant bee? O_o

  • wow this Cicada is beautiful.
