I love the way the Stones could make sounding drunk sound so cool! I think, more than any other act in musical history, the Stones drove me to drink. Yay! Best band ever!
@poughkeepsiejohn1 Maybe better than most NEW country singers; which actually aren't country singers at all. This song doesn't come close to what I call country. I do enjoy this song though; big Hank and Stones fan.
A really cool stones version. Just heard the new and polished 2001 mix. The original sounds like Mick and Keefer where pissed. Quite sloppy but brilliant. The new mix is more civil .
But ain't complaining , you win again deserves to be released.
Keith does this song on a Hank Williams tribute album that is incredible. His voice is broken and full of gravel and bourbon. This is great though! Thanks for sharing it!
It's not a demo of Faraway Eyes; it's a cover of You Win Again. It's likely NOT 1978 as dopey pabluch asserts, as that's the year "Some Girls" was released, and this cut is probably from the "Some Girls" seesions, which would have occurred in the several months preceding the release of the finished product.
i fuckin love the stones and i love this paticular Hank Willams song and this is fuckin epic awsome never head it

How do you people find these demos? They are great, recorded back in the late 70's, a different era for the band.

This is fucking garbage. Hank Williams is rolling in his grave somewhere...

John Kay of Steppenwolf covered this on his solo album back in '73ish. Check it out. This is also a good version.
