Hi, i bought my EEEPC 900 ( white one, and black one) three years ago, and its still working. But now, I got a problem with my speaker. There are times that its sound is very low that you cant barely hear and sometimes, you cant hear anyything... my QUESTION is, IS IT POSSIBLE THAT A VIRUS AFFECTS THE AUDIO of my EEEPC? im satisfied with it and using it for 3 yrs now,,, its just that i got problem with the audio... anyone can help me? thanks in advance

i like my eee pc 701 the best, i have gta vc and hitman contracts on it. it is also very fast. i have xp on it and ive got to say windows media player and putting ant-virus on it slow it down.

I don't play World of Warcraft or games on it so I wouldn't know ;) I have to tell you, the pc slows considerably if you just use more than 2-3 applications at a time, so maybe it's not fit for videogames or heavy activity

I don't think gamers are "careless" about what they spend. I believe that those who build and mod their computers with performance parts do it out of passion for electronics, just like someone who is passionate about cars or airplanes, or for many, TV and food. Also, consumers typically want a "media center" pc, which requres performance upgrades to pcs(such as more ram, faster gpu). So, concluding, it's not "gamer totalitarianism" that is causing the hardware boosts, it's the consumers.

yeah but the microwaves coming out of high power processors and videocards are why computers get buggy crash or just die early

they also fry ram capacitors and peripherals

example look at RROD problems on the xbox due to the high power microwave heat coming from the processor chip! why make lousy 95 watt processors when you can make excellent 35 watt ones that work 100 times better are cool more efficient and run great

We just had two incidents with this item where a virus/worm was present on the machine out-of-the-box. In the most recent one, the worm was an autorun on the D:\ partition. The worm disables task manager, registry editor, won't allow you to see hidden files, disables anti-virus software and redirects your browser if you try to get on an anti-virus website.

It's not a bad battery but they gave the 900 a less strong one (instead of 5400 a 4500mA one.) People in hong kong got a replacement. I'm not sure about other countries.

2.5-3 hours is what I've heard. Asus has another version out (the 901) with much better battery life (partly due to a better battery and partly due to the intel atom processor which takes much less power)

Hard to configure? Make sure you have the xp iso files. Put them on a SD drive and use deamon tools to mount the iso files and install xp.

I got my asus eee pc900 yesterday. Plays games quite well like Half life 2 etc. Just a pain to get it loading = 10 minutes but once in game its great no lag whatsoever

Eee PC 700, 900, or 1000? Idk. I don't want too tiny, or too big. 10 inches is nice, but much bigger netbook than the 900. I think I like the 8.9inch screen better because its easier to see than the 7 inch, but not as big as the 10. The idea is to have something super portable. I like the mini note because the keyboard is sooo much easier to use. But i like the size of the 8.9inch netbook. Any assistance?
