I was a member of a local rock band based out of Atlantic City back in the late 60s (The Sound Project). I can still remember working out the parts of this tune from the 45 and replaying the keyboard part until my fingers cramped and wouldn't move. The lead singer nearly tore his vocal cords out each time he sang it. And wouldn't ya know--it became one of popular tunes and he was forced to sing it at every gig! I don't think Martin Bass EVER forgave me for that!
